When I started blogging I never expected to actually make friends with strange folks on the interwebs. Nearly three years of blogging has changed my mind totally on what type of people actually use the internet and have made some really great friends.

They are vastly different folks in regards to gender, politics, continents, age and life experiences but we still manage to connect. I suppose that is what my friendships have always been like in real life too.

I suppose meeting up with those people in real life was in some way proof that I am a good judge of character, or at least that the people I have chose to meet up with represented themselves genuinely on-line.

This is why I have always had no qualms about meeting people from BC in real life and was wondering what you all thought about it? Especially when I have mentioned planning a trip/meet up previously.

I'd love to have you visit me but Colorado is nowhere near to where I live.

Where I live is very inconvenient and expensive to get to. Also once you are here the conveniences and comforts one has on hand in cities do not exist.

I also love to be able to go to something like a large BC blogging and networking type of conference, where I could meet members of BC from all over the world.
    1. crpitt
Have you ever met anyone from online? Or have you always been too far away?
    2. timethief
I have a phone relationship with some other bloggers in my region. Traveling is a challenge and my health is always an issue, particularly in winter, so I haven't met them. The most likely scenario for me to meet other bloggers is for me to fly to Vancouver or Victoria and then onwards from there.
    3. crpitt
I have family in Vancouver and friends on the island
I have never been so it is on my list.
  2. trailofpen
The only way I'll meet a person from online in real life is if it is business related
    1. crpitt
Really? So online stuff for you is strictly business?
    2. trailofpen
Well everything except for my banter on here.
    3. crpitt
But meeting people on a social level could in fact lead to business
    4. trailofpen
Exactly, only if it's business related.
    5. crpitt
What a bundle of fun you are.....
  3. Theresa111
You're always welcome whenever you make your trip across the big pond.
    1. crpitt
Awww thanks Have you met up with folks from the online world before?
    2. Theresa111
Only in Email. I cherish all of my friends because they are talented and unique ... like you!
    3. crpitt
Well I am unique Where abouts are you?
  4. cookingasshole
I have met people that found my little site and live nearby and they are super cool people. No one from BC though I was in Agit8r's town this weekend but he was out of town
    1. crpitt
How rude of him! Most people I have met are in the super cool category
    2. cookingasshole
I have a feeling he was making it up just so he would not have to deal with me
    3. crpitt
      No ways.
  5. SweetViolet
I have several real-life friends I met on line through blogging.

If you ever decide to holiday in South Africa, let me know. I have a lovely guest suite and Cape Town is the best place in the country for a vacation!
    1. crpitt
It is another place in my list
  6. lotusb
I would love to meet up with some BC'ers!! I'll be in NY, if anyone is nearby!
    1. Theresa111
      I love NYC!
    2. Floormodel
      New York City?
    3. crpitt
I will be flying into NY well one of the airports next year, may hang about for a few days
    4. lotusb
I'll be in NYC...New York...Brooklyn to be exact. Anyone who wants to have a good time and drink $2 beer with me send me a knock when your in town.
    5. crpitt
Sold on the $2 beer! woot
  7. nothingprofound
I'm brand new at this, only three months, so I haven't met anyone. I'm sure it would be wonderful if I did. I'm pretty layback, and get along with almost everyone. Although these days, I do keep pretty much to myself.
    1. crpitt
Three months is definitely newbie territory
  8. aningeniousname
I'd just like to strike a note of caution to any BC'er thinking about meeting someone from online. I met a person right here on BC and after a period of intense "grooming" by them we met.
To cut a long story short things were said and I was touched inappropriately in an place that it is only appropriate for appropriate people to inappropriately touch, and being as this person wasn't an appropriate person I deemed it inappropriate for them to be touching a fellow BC member in an inappropriate way.
    So just be careful.
    1. dcarroll
Could you inform on what is inappropriate touching of an aardvark?
    2. Anok
For the love of God never touch his ears!
    3. aningeniousname
Actually it's 95 percent of my underneath side including all 148 anise flavoured nipples but the most inappropriate way to touch an Aardvark is internally. A good rule of thumb guide is "If it feels like a nipple or is next to impossible without the liberal use of lubricants then it's is probably wrong."
Oh yeah and whatever you do don't touch the ears that's where an Aardvark's anal stink glands are located.
    4. Floormodel
well now, that rules me out. Anise give me flashback to my one leap into a pool of Sambuca... worst hangoever ever. I can't even eat anise flavored cookies now.
    5. crpitt
I was meant to go to Hull with the dad the other day, this is why I didn't....
  9. ThriftShopRomantic
You know, funny, but I'd discovered I was a TERRIBLE judge of character.

I mean, I met in person this CRPitt I thought I was friends with online-- and she was just HORRIFYING. I had to ditch her right in the middle of Pennsylvania. So impossible to put up with!
    1. crpitt
Whateverrrrr You would of adopted me if you could of!
  10. Anok
I have met one person in person. and connected with a few others off BC. I think they have all been wonderful people, and I'm extra-glad that I had the opportunity to meet them. There are a few more I'd like to meet up with, but time and travel seem to always pose a problem. Some day!

(Sorry for touching you Anin, but I was told that aardvarks like that sort of thing)
    1. crpitt
Woot, even though you encouraged the above bad behaviour.
  11. gtally
Never have met anyone but there's always 2010.
    1. Anok
      yay!
    2. cookingasshole
hopefully Lisa and Doll can make it
    3. crpitt
Yay for 2010 and our own tour guide
    4. harveyavatar
Let's hope Lisa & Doll are not banned from flying.
    5. gtally
I am a docent for Colorado at wikitravel, so I am here to help. Plus, I'm excited because an article I wrote for wikitravel is scheduled to be featured on their main page in August.
    6. crpitt
You do write them very well, hopefully I can provide tons more photos for you next year
    7. Stillthinking
I am thrilled we have a local advocate for CO travel! It makes planning this trip so much easier.
    8. gtally
Yes, I think we can all safely agree that I am AWESOME!
  12. Floormodel
I am presently working out the details for meeting a friend who's going to be coming from Ireland and will be staying over at Niagara Falls an extra day just so we can sit and chat for a few hours. I've met people from such far away lands as England, Ohio, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania too
    1. timethief
      Wow! That's so cool.
    2. Floormodel
I forgot to add on Canada.. but to be fair Canada's only an hour and a bridge away.
    3. timethief
I'll bet you are referring to eastern Canada. If so then I'm as far west as you can get out into the Pacific Ocean and still be in Canada.
    4. crpitt
Don't encourage people from England, they are awful!
  13. MissSuzie
I have never met anyone from online, but there are quite a few people from BC that I would not hestitate to meet. I heart (some) of you guys and gals.
    1. crpitt
      Pick me!
  14. Stillthinking
I am so looking forward to our meet-up next year! I can't wait to meet some of the people I spend so much time speaking to online!
    1. Floormodel
we're heading your way in November for the Jukebox show in St. Charles
    2. Stillthinking
I would love to meet you for lunch or dinner! I always enjoy "speaking" with you on BC!
    3. Floormodel
I could bore you with pics of my granddaughter in person, maybe even bring you a bag o' books. As we close in on the Fall we'll have to make plans!
    4. Stillthinking
Yeah! Hopefully the really cold weather won't set in until after your visit!
    5. Floormodel
I live right near Buffalo, cold doesn't bother me too much!

two years back we went to WI first and went to The House on The Rock, it was great. The first day of the Christmas show and we stayed at the Inn and had the place to ourselves. There were three elderly couples too but they stayed in their rooms and we had the pools and bar to ourselves. We'll do HoTR again but for the regular season, to see the whole thing a different time.
    6. Stillthinking
HOTR was fun. I have been a couple of times. Such a bizarre mix of random stuff.
    7. Floormodel
It wasa little overwhelming. I'd like to take two days next time. We obviously loved the music machines, especially the large Japanese machine. page 7, second pic

There are a few people on BC that I have been trying to convince to move up north with me So far, I haven't got them convinced yet but soon....

(Yeah Still, I'm talkin' to YOU)
    1. Stillthinking
If we are talking about the artist colony in Vancouver, I totally would be up for it!
    2. timethief
Hmmmm ... I wouldn't suggest Vancouver as a final destination to anyone who doesn't have pockets and accounts full of money. Granted it would be a good meetup place because it has an international airport but accommodation there is extremely expensive.

I believe Victoria would be even better as far as finding really good conference facilities in a gorgeous setting and its a less hectic and expensive place to visit.

I'd suggest Vancouver Island from almost everyone who actually wants to move to the Canadian coast, or who wants to take a wonderful vacation they will never forget. Islanders and mainlanders have different priorities and have established quite different cultures and communities. For Anok and perhaps some others who may wish to relocate to places where artists and musicians colonies exist, then I would suggest the smaller islands have the kind of culture and communities that they would find a "fit" in.
    3. Stillthinking
I have looked into licensing as a Canadian architect after I finish my American licensing. It's not out of the question at all.
    4. timethief
That's good to hear. I'm wondering if there any positions available on Vancouver Island?
    5. Stillthinking
Well, once I get my licensing, it's entirely possible I will open my own interior architecture shop.
    6. Anok
      I'm not in Canada

But maybe some day I will be
  16. greencurmudgeon
I've met a number of people (not from BC, mind you) from online. What you tend to find is either they're precisely what you expect or the complete opposite: it's rare there is middle ground.

If there was a BC event in Europe, I'd seriously entertain the idea of attending it.
    1. Stillthinking
Green, we would love to have you join us next year for camping, white water rafting, and ziplining in Colorado! It doesn't matter if it's not your usual thing, it's not my usual thing either. That is what makes it such an adventure!
    2. greencurmudgeon
      @Still

That's very kind, but it is highly likely I'll be finishing up Master's Degree #2 at that point, and getting ready for PhD #2. I will see how my finances are doing, however.
    3. Stillthinking
Well, I will just have to meet you next summer when I make my next European excursion.
    4. greencurmudgeon
      @Still

Well, I rarely drink, but a pint at the Jerusalem Tavern is always a good idea:

      www.stpetersbrewery.co.uk/london/default.htm
    5. Stillthinking
Done. I am holding you to it, PhD #2 or not.
    6. timethief
      @greencurmudgeon
When it comes to finances and health challenges to overcome I believe that Europe is out of the question for me, so I hope you do come to North America and I do get to meet you one day.
    7. greencurmudgeon
      @timethief

I visit North America on occasion. If I ever visit your part of the world, I will ensure you are informed.
    8. crpitt
      Blurgh to Europe, only joking

I have met only one blogger from near me, but met quite a few local folk off twitter, that was scarier than travelling over the pond.
    9. greencurmudgeon
      @crpitt

Speaking as someone who can choose between America and Europe in terms of places to live, I am happier here.
    10. crpitt
Really? Funny that, as I am tempted to live on the other side of the pond.
    11. greencurmudgeon
      @crpitt

Something relaxes inside me whenever the plane lands back in London and the stewardess says, "Welcome to Heathrow".
    12. crpitt
Can I ask why? Politics? people? weather? (heh)
    13. Stillthinking
Oh Claire, I think the US would drive you crazy outside of short visits. I can barely tolerate it and I have lived here my entire life.
    14. greencurmudgeon
      @crpitt

All of the above, I think. This may sound slightly barmy, but even as a child back in America, I always wanted to live here.
    15. crpitt
But the grass is not greener (pun intended) on this side in regards to politics and weather, even the people to be honest.

      Well apart from me, heh.
    16. Stillthinking
      @green

I have always felt like a displaced person as well. I never thought I would be living my adulthood in the MidWest. I thought I would be living in Paris or at the very least, Manhattan.
    17. greencurmudgeon
      @crpitt

No, the grass isn't greener, it's just different. It's a question of what suits you best. Being here suits me well.
    18. greencurmudgeon
      @Still

I'll keep my eyes open for a Frenchman for you to marry. I do know a fellow who is a Managing Director of a travel company, but sadly, he's married already.
    19. crpitt
@ Greeny Definitely different, I suppose it is hard for me to see the appeal most of the time, when I want to go and see everywhere else.
    20. greencurmudgeon
      @crpitt

I understand that, there is a certain amount attributable to wanderlust. I cannot say that I am "fully" at home - I'll always be a foreigner. At least, however, this is an agreeable place to be rootless.
    21. crpitt
Do you think it shall be your final resting place?
  17. harveyavatar
The few people I met off forums had excellent writing and or thinking skills. At the time, I was looking to improve my own writing skills. At least one of those encounters has been groundbreaking - if not earthshattering.

Nowadays, I do not exclude meeting a forum Bimbo, nor a semi-intelligent girl for that matter.
    1. harveyavatar
I was joking bout the Bimbo bit.
  18. ArsenicCookies
Hmm I haven't met any BC'rs, but 90% of my photographers come from a site called model mayhem. I also have met people who were on myspace that had mutual real life friends and got involved with organizations for events from the net. I guess it's okay, I just have never done it... though I never really see any Pennsylvanians or Marylanders here
    1. crpitt
I was in Pennsylvania briefly last year with Thriftshopromantic
    2. ArsenicCookies
aww hehe. We don't have much but we have good food
    3. crpitt
What food I had was indeed nice It was New Hope and it was beautiful.
  19. melindaville
    Hey Claire!

I have met several people that I have had online relationships with--both through my blog and through my job teaching classes online. I've met colleagues and students (which is not so unusual) but I have also met quite a few people through BC and my blog.

I feel you can develop REAL and STRONG relationships online as you can face-2-face. In fact, a couple of my strongest (now mostly face-2-face) relationships were first developed online. I have one good friend that I see practically every time I'm in San Francisco that I met through BC. She's become a great friend.

    Melinda
    1. Stillthinking
      Melinda,
You are definitely someone I would like to meet in person. You are one of the most interesting people I have met through BC. I hope you are planning on coming to the White water rafting expedition next year in CO!!!
    2. crpitt
Hopefully I will catch up with next year whatever coast you are on, I also want your place in Maine!
    3. melindaville
I would definitely go to that, ST--I LOVE white water rafting (I grew up in MT afterall!) and furthermore, my sister lives in telluride. Where you planning to go rafting? I will most definitely try to coincide a visit to my sister at that time. I'd love to meet you too! You're pretty interesting yourself!
    4. melindaville
Claire--we loan out the place in Maine, you know! Seriously. I know you think I am kidding--but I am really not.

But if you want a place to stay in either Boston or CA--whatever coast we are on, you are welcome to stay with us--we have more than enough room! I'm serious again here!

It's empty too much of the time and it really gives Les and I a lot of joy to see other people enjoy our magical place in Corea-by-the-Sea. It's absolutely beautiful.
    5. Stillthinking
So far, the plan is to go rafting and ziplining in South Park, CO. The Salida, Buena Vista area. Claire, ThriftShop, and myself are all committed to going. A few others have signed on as well.
    6. melindaville
Count me in--seriously. Just give me enough advance notice on when this is going to be (specifically) because Les and I have some crazy travel schedules! You never know where we might be! But if we know in advance, we can arrange our schedules.
    7. crpitt
August 2010, you must come! Where are you normally that time of year?
    8. Stillthinking
Well, I think the rough plan is August. We'll be planning all of it well in advance, so giving you notice won't be a problem. So excited! I am going to get to meet pretty much all my favorite BC members!
    9. melindaville
Claire--we are normally on the East Coast during the summer and autumn--and we tend to spend more time in San Francisco in winter (New England winters are a bitch). Let's definitely plan to get together!
    10. crpitt
Well I am definitely starting my trip, it may turn into a road trip thing, on the east coast, so I shall make you come
    11. melindaville
I'm looking forward to it! You must stay with us in Boston. If you come with the Red Sox are in town, I'll even take you to a baseball game! You have to experience American baseball once in your life (Go Red Sox!).
    12. crpitt
I went last year, it was awesome

I loved what I saw of Boston, but didn't get to explore that much, bloody humid though!
    13. melindaville
Well, I'll think of some other cool stuff to do here in Boston--it's an awesome city. I love showing it off. Sometime you must come to San Francisco also--in my (not so humble) opinion, it is the crown jewel of the United States.
    14. crpitt
I was thinking of east to west coasting it ending up in San Francisco, but it all depends on time, money and planning etc
    15. melindaville
What a fab trip that would be. Awesome. You are so welcome at our SF home too! I REALLY love showing off San Francisco--so come with your running shoes on!
    16. crpitt
We shall have to see, just seeing more of the east coast and getting to Colorado would be pretty awesometriffic
    17. melindaville
Abso-freaking-lutely! It will be so much fun to see you in Boston and to meet everyone in CO. I am definitely going to arrange my schedule to come. I'm looking forward to it.
    18. crpitt
Writing that statement is a binding contract that I will hold you to.
    19. melindaville
Please do, Claire--I am really looking forward to meeting you. Les and I had hoped to get to the UK this spring--but too many problems with business kept us from doing that (this damn recession!). We are actually hoping to come in the fall now--but nothing is concrete. I will definitely let you know if we get to Liverpool.
    20. crpitt
Oh I hope you do, it was going to April wasn't it?

Just give me some notice and will definitely arrange something
    21. melindaville
Yes, we were supposed to come in April--but Les's company has been having some serious recession problems. Last month, he had to lay off over 30 employees, which really broke his heart. We scaled back travel plans--he's trying to save his company. Things ARE looking better so hopefully we will get there in the fall. We usually visit the UK at least twice a year. He visits more often--I usually accompany him a couple of times a year. His company actually has a satellite office in London.
    22. crpitt
I am sorry to hear that, glad things are looking up.

I would break my not coming to London rule if that's all you could manage
    23. melindaville
Yeah--it's been a tough spring really--but things ARE looking up (somewhat).

I'll definitely let you know when we are coming. London is probably my favorite city in the entire world! Why would you not want to go to London. I love it there so much and could easily see myself living there for awhile.
    24. crpitt
Because I have only visited with people who spend all their time there and are bored of it

So you can show me around lol
    25. melindaville
You are on! I actually know London fairly well. I've been to London at least 25 times--and I once spent 2 months in a small, cozy flat just off Carnaby Street. It was one of the best summers of my life.

London is the best place for theater--and I used to be an actress--and a Shakespearean one at that! Any actor HAS to love London--it's the best theater in the world (and this most definitely includes Broadway).
    26. crpitt
Oh exciting! Lets go to a show (that is cheap)! hehe
    27. melindaville
Definitely! My treat too, Claire (I'll even spring for dinner too, since you are a student and I have a good job ). I always do Leicester Square--we'll score some fab seats.
    28. crpitt
Hey no! That would be awfully rude of me, for you to come over here and pay for me.
    29. melindaville
NONSENSE! I insist! It would truly be my pleasure.
    30. crpitt
We shall sit by the stage door with a bag of chips
    31. melindaville
That sounds like so much fun! You're on!
    32. crpitt
Heh Maybe we can kidnap an A List celeb who is trying to cut the mustard as a uber serious Actor
  20. dbowles1017
I plan to meet some BCers sometime. I havent met anyone yet but next snowboard season i will be meeting a bunch of people at tahoe.
    1. melindaville
I love snowboarding. At least I used to before I hurt my back

I grew up in Montana--so I learned to ski and snowboard from a very young age. It's the only thing there is to do there in the winter!
    2. crpitt
I am scared of snowboarding, I think it would be easier if I just threw myself down the mountain
    3. melindaville
Ha ha ha ha ha! Claire--that made me really laugh. Hee hee!

We could stat you on the bunny hill. Just sayin!
    4. crpitt
No seriously, I am very very clumsy! heh.
When I am hiking I normally dawdle at the back taking photos, friends turn around and I have disappeared down the hill, hehe.
    5. ThriftShopRomantic
Oh, criminey-- we're gonna lose Claire off the side of a Colorado mountain or something, aren't we?

Get accident insurance, Claire. Accident insurance.
    6. Stillthinking
Don't worry. You're more likely to lose me as I am the size of a garden gnome.
    7. crpitt
I got the max insurane on my last trip, as the dad said he wouldn't pay to fly me home if anything happened, miserable bastard! lol
    8. melindaville
Well, since you are coming in summer, you don't have to worry about my strong arming you into skiing (or snowboarding). It's SO much fun though! I imagine flying is something like how you feel as you race down the mountain.
    9. ThriftShopRomantic
Still- So I can leave my Travelocity roaming gnome at home, then? We'll make you wear bright colors so we won't lose you.

      No BCer Left Behind!!
    10. crpitt
      I more imagine "AVALANCHE!"
    11. Stillthinking
My friends used to joke that I needed a leash because I had such a tendency to wander away during our outings.
    12. crpitt
I am not buddying with you on a hike! lol

We would be the worst team heh
    13. Stillthinking
We would, however, be the most comical. The giantess and the midget, both with a tendency to get lost.
    14. crpitt
Hey! less of the giantess lol It is a rather amusing picture
    15. dbowles1017
I guess ill bring a rope and tie the two of you to me so you foot die or get lost . Remember that bears are not your friends and the snakes are not belts... Yet.
    16. ThriftShopRomantic
Maybe GPS tracking thingies on both of you....

Watch, it'll probably end up being ME lost then.
    17. Stillthinking
I believe that my cell phone has GPS capabilities. It also functions as a flashlight and cat toy.
    18. ThriftShopRomantic
Perfect in case we run into any mountain lions who need distracting!
    19. crpitt
No that is what Mr Bowles is for
    20. Stillthinking
No, I thought we already established that Mr. Bowles is for late night entertainment.
    21. dbowles1017
I aint scared of no stinking cat!
    22. crpitt
Oh yes! He is our one man highland games, toss the caber an all
    23. dbowles1017
Well I will have a kilt... And an axe. Firefighters always have an axe.
    24. crpitt
      Bring all the outfits
    25. dbowles1017
I plan on it. There was a promise of strippers if you recall.
    26. crpitt
I don't recall, I must of been drinking.
    27. dbowles1017
Wouldn't surprise me. But I guess that puts me off the hook for providing the entertainment.
    28. crpitt
      You never know
    29. dbowles1017
You're right. I probably still will anyways
    30. crpitt
      Excellent
    31. gtally
Grumble, Claire. There aren't avalanches in Colorado in August. Sheesh.
    32. crpitt
It was in reference to me falling down the mountain
    33. gtally
And the trick with the bears is to carry raw salmon in your pockets.
    34. crpitt
      You can carry the salmon.
  21. Stillthinking
Don't forget the ball gag and leather mask.
    1. crpitt
      I always bring spares.
  22. Stillthinking
Does CO have prairie dogs? I have never seen a prairie dog and would so enjoy seeing one.
    1. nothingprofound
I lived in the desert in Tucson for seven years and prairies dogs were all around me. They're so cute. Kind of a cross between squirrels and chipmunks. And the roadrunners-they are the most peculiar creatures on earth.
    2. Stillthinking
I love that in photos, prairie dogs are always standing up on their hind legs. Adorable.
    3. gtally
There are tons of prairie dogs in Colorado. They primarily give people the bubonic plague.
    4. Stillthinking
Oh no! Prairie dogs spread the plague??? They're so fat and cute though.
    5. gtally
Only some of them. You have to be like a real moron and stick your head in their burrow or play with a dead one to catch it. Oh, or the fleas jump onto your pets. That's the other way.

  23. HollytheHousewife
Well I talk to a lot of people on the phone from bc, it's fun. Not to mention they have taught me soooooo much about computers, and just being online. I hear people say all the time that being online is seperate from real life, but its not for me. I mean people are people, right?
    1. crpitt
Would you actually meet up with people though?
  24. HollytheHousewife
Um, yea.... I was trying to talk endless into going to spring river with us in aug.
Also I'm going to sgp conference in nashville in sept, and some of the girls from there are gonna split the cost for the luxury suite @ gaylord opryland....I only know them from online to but we talk everyday
    1. crpitt
      Sounds like great fun.
  25. HollytheHousewife
Oh yea....that is what life is supposed to be about. Well maybe not fun all the time but definately getting up going places, and learning about different people....I love it,and think just a year ago all I knew was my family, but with the computer,in just 1 year I have met and learned soooooooo much.....I love its so exciting!!!
    1. crpitt
It is the modern day penpal
    2. HollytheHousewife
      Well,duh

That's what I'm sayin I was told to stay away from forums and discussions,my mother said only perverts are online. So I did stay away from this growing up,unless it had to do with school
    3. Anok
Well if you ever venture to the northeast again, you'll have a friend and a cup o' joe up here.
  26. gtally
I still say that North Park is prettier than South Park.
    1. crpitt
      Didn't you suggest South park?
    2. gtally
Welll... I suggested and presented both, but ST was drawn to Salida because there's an affordable zipline company there.
    3. crpitt
Well your mission should you chose to accept it, is to find an affordable zipline in North Park or forcibly remove the company there
    4. gtally
Grumble. work work work. Do I get a gratuity for this?
    5. crpitt
A big kiss and maybe an inappropriate hug
    6. Stillthinking
I would be open to North Park as long as there is both white water rafting and an impressive, yet affordable zipline.

I would give you an inappropriate hug as well.

Of course, saying we're going to North Park, CO isn't as purely entertaining.
  27. Agit8r
I thought this was a thread about getting caught wanking
    1. dbowles1017
      It is now!
    2. Anok
      BAD GNOME!

By the way, when are YOU two coming east? Hmmm? I have beers to buy you. ANd Mr Bowles has a kilt to wear for me
    3. Agit8r
I would love to take a trip east... if only my Chevy Aveo had cruise control....
    4. dbowles1017
I'll visit the east when it stops sucking so bad...

Or when I win the lottery and start the DiA Tour.
    5. Agit8r
maybe I could become a drifter...

*eyes glaze over as a goofy smile spreads across face*

      *snaps out of it*

      what was I saying again?
    6. dbowles1017
You were telling us about that one time you were wanking it, and some one came in the room.
    7. Anok
The east does not suck! It's beautiful here! Besides, then you can go to a bunch of big cities and see what it's all about, anyway.

And then you may wield an axe in a kilt for my entertainment

C'mon Agit - I know you wanna come east! Plane tickets are cheap right now
    8. dbowles1017
Sitting in traffic for 2 hours to go 4 blocks doesn't appeal to me.
Besides I would end up killing people. Jersey is the breeding ground for tools and douchebags.
    9. Anok
Jersey?! No way, baby, you gots to come to New England Jersey is not in New England!

And who says you wait in traffic? In the cities, you walk or take the subway/metro - it's cheap, it's easy, it's a ride AND a show! (Everywhere else the driving is usually quite easy). Besides, you can com ehere and get a custom bike
    10. crpitt
      Americans don't wank! Do they?
    11. dbowles1017
Hell no I don't walk! And, I'll pass on the subway. I rather like not being stabbed and having my wallet jacked. I also like personal space. New England, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire it's all the same. Obviously the old England, Old Jersey, Old Hampshire and Old York sucked, so those guys called for a "do-over" and still messed it up

I can't afford a new bike, so unless free I'll have to pass.
    12. Anok
Boo! Bad stereotypes! I have never been stabbed on a subway!
    13. crpitt
Do you know much about the Triumph Rocket Three?
    14. melindaville
Oh, believe me, Claire--Americans definitely 'wank.' When I was running Julie's Hotline (the world's first fantasy phone call service) we actually had a 'wanker file' of jerks who would call trying to get free phone calls!

Boy did I have some fun messing with them back in the day!
    15. crpitt
But do you actually use the word wanking is what I really meant?
    16. melindaville
Absolutely, Claire! That was the actual name of the file, "Wanker File."

We used it all the time in the fantasy phone service. "Wanker on line 1, wanker on line 1!"
    17. crpitt
I thought Jerk was the more popular slang term your side of the pond?
    18. melindaville
Oh, jerk is a more common term for being an a-hole. But wanker is a particular meaning--so we used it a lot in the sex industry. We used to call the lookie lou's that used to come into the escort service 'wankers' also.

We don't call a-holes wankers--we do call them jerks. But we call a wanker a wanker.
    19. dbowles1017
Anok that's because your a ninja. Ninja's do the stabbing.
  28. HollytheHousewife
I know why don't all of y'all come to spring river in aug. Its FUNNNNNNNN
    1. Anok
      Where's that?

      ANd are there giant bugs?
  29. HollytheHousewife
Arkansas, and no giant bugs but there are misquitos, but we go canoing and rafting down the rapids, and drink a few on the way down. We always rent about 3 or 4 cabins depending who all goes
    1. Anok
      Well that does sound fun!
  30. morinn
So far I have only met bloggers from Mauritius (that's where I live) and we are currently organising a bloggers event at the beach for this Saturday. I'm really looking forward to that.
I would have loved to meet folks from BC as well, perhaps someone who's roaming about in the Indian Ocean? If ever you're on holidays in the island of Mauritius, do let me know.
    1. crpitt
Ohhhh sounds great, as long as I don't go the way of the dodo
    2. harveyavatar
I have two friends in Mauritius I have to see. Not the cheapest ticket.
  31. LovePhotoshop
I haven't met up with anyone I met online, but I'd love to soon. I definitely trust and care about my online friends.
    1. crpitt
I have met up with some great folks, so highly recommend it
  32. allofarts
    dio,dont talk to stranger!!
    1. crpitt
You should avoid some people totally.....
  33. amrhima
I have met two people I met online, and one of them I consider to be one of my best friends ever now.
    1. crpitt
The other you buried in your garden?
