I voted on your blog, I said that via friends would be the best way. Similar to word of mouth, they are already vetted and you have a friends word on their character.

I voted. Online dating for sure. I am a big fan of online dating. You can see who you are actually meeting, although people embelish on dating sites you can still pretty much get an idea, for instance you can determine if their education, job, children, marrital status, religion, etc. suit you before you meet

      How you doin'?

The thing with Online, is I met someone and they weren't as witty in person, or didn't look like their picture from 10 years ago... still haven't met anyone worth dating through friends...

Before I got back together with my bf, I met the most awesome guy online. He was handsome, artistic, successful and really just a cool guy. We're still pretty good friends. You might have had bad luck, but don't write off meeting people online altogether.

People online are different than they are in person. They have all the world to think of something "witty" to say online.Guys will try to appear in a certain way. When it comes to real life and theyre put on the spot, all the wittiness goes away and dude appears as he realy is.

Howver, this may be looked as in a different way. Some people have a bit of a problem expressing who they are in real life. They can do it much better online. So you can actually somehow fins out MORE about a certain person online than you do in real life.

I think online dating is the best way too. I met my boyfriend, who I expect to marry, online and he was even better in person than he presented himself online. He has absolutely everything a girl could want going for him. Before I met him, I dated quite a few guys I met on dating sites and they were all way better in person than their online profiles suggested.

Well, I didn't "meet" him exactly, but I discovered the man I want to marry while he was being led away in handcuffs on the evening news for murdering his wife. Does that count?

well they say for some a good way is thru the stomach. Everybody eats, and sometimes even great at home chefs hit up the local grocery store for ingredients. I've met alot of nice women who have great opinions on recipes and dinner suggestions there. We often make dinner dates where one will cook for the other and it's a great way to meet new people.

So I really think if you want to meet good quality people, it's best irl, face to face where if chemisty is going to happen, it will at close proximity. But that's just personal preference, coming from someone who's had great relationships both starting online, and irl.

The craziest place I ever met someone was in traffic court but that wasn't your question. Most of the guys I met were either through friends or just random passings in book stores and coffee shops.

I like Athletic women and women who take care of their bodies. I meet most of them hiking, biking at running events or at the gym.
It's a lot easier than meeting at a bar or club because there isn't the social pressure and it's easier to communicate.

I met my husband through a online dating site. There are pros and cons to meeting people online, but probably not much different to meeting someone at a club/pub ect anyway. I have met some weirdos in my time though my own friends, who should have known better ! grrr !

I also think if you have an interest in something, then join a club that is into what you are eg.. I used to do dog obedience and trials, and so went to a dog training club each week. I met a few guys there (in my single days). We all had the same thing in common, and that was our love for our dogs ;-)

Well, I need one to think about this.

Match.com and Plenty of Fish are okay. I find a low-key, local club that has a band you like is good too. Gives you something to talk about with total strangers. Same with art exhibits, books stores, or film festivals. I think a good yard sale can bring in quality single people also. My friend in California loves to go to those platonic single activities. She met single friends to hang out with and in turn, they introduced her to some single guys.

Obvious the best place is the work place, after that any place where people that have a lot in common meet. Online is fine after you go through about thirty failures.
  22. ToughCookieMommy
I have a few friends that have met their men online through dating websites. It wouldn't be for me but I guess it's as good a place to meet people as any.
  23. aspotofblog
I find it intimidating to meet people online, and then having to meet them offline in person. I prefer meeting people spontaneously, through friends or colleagues, for instance.

Single people shop for groceries, as far as I can remember, been married awhile, on wkend nights. I met many men at the grocery store when I was single! nice men.
  25. acousticguitarist
    anywhere

if i want to meet someone I just walk up and start talking to them
  26. DailyBeerReview
Anywhere, but a friend intro is helpful, even a friend that you don't know too well.

Cindy from the PTA meeting introduces you to her hot friend Isabel in the grocery dairy section on a chance meeting....

Sounds like a porno, but you never know when you'll meet the one.
  27. dbowles1017
    Strip clubs, and brothels
    1. acousticguitarist
      that would be stupid :-)
    2. dbowles1017
It's the single best place to meet women. Now, they may just be after your money, but how is that any different from all the other women?
  28. Agit8r
i once picked up what I believed to be a hitchhiker, who proceeded to ask me if I wanted "a quick date"...
  29. erfizyo

  32. crazyTsu
    join an acting course
  33. abstractslmorrison
Smelling Biycle seats, or checking out their dirty clothes hampers. Letting them catch you wearing their clothes has always worked for me.

i think the best place to date is with a group of friends and it should be somewhere that you two could have fun like bowling, just incase you get bored

And if you get really bored, you can crush his head with the ball.
