    Yes I noticed that.
I am at the office believe it or not. :/
    1. Sam1982
I'm at the office too - I fear that I may have to resort to doing some actual work....
    2. AngieA
I came in to do some work, but ended up checking out BC to see whats going on.

      Ok,...so maybe we better work.
      Have fun.
    3. kat822
I say no work for you today Angie, Be a rebel !
    1. Sam1982
Hi Holly/acoustic - whats the haps?
  2. HollytheHousewife
    what's haps mean
    1. Sam1982
Its just another way of saying "how are you / what's happening?"
    2. Sam1982
      *crickets chirp*
    3. runningshoes
hey sam what time is it where you are?
    4. Sam1982
4:30pm on monday - nearly hometime, it's a slow boring work day
    5. HollytheHousewife
oh gotcha..well not much and yea it's kinda slow around everywhere...
    6. runningshoes
      its 11am where i am...feeling soo lazy!!
  3. nothingprofound
Almost my bedtime, Sam. 11pm in New York. Just finished watching an old classic film, Intermezzo, with my wife.
    1. Sam1982
Cool, whats that one about? if you're not in bed already??
  4. nothingprofound
An illicit romance between a world famous violinist and a young piano student. There are two versions, both starring Ingrid Bergman. Both are beautifully filmed and the dialogue is quite intelligent.
    1. Sam1982
Sounds good, I have to admit there is something in the old classics that todays films lack (its not to say todays films are bad though)
But If I was asked to put a finger on what it was that gave them their charm I couldnt pin point it.
    2. freshtunesfinland
I have to agree with sam here. Some (not all) more aged films have something, I can't really pin point it either, but it may have to do with pacing and letting the story fold out, instead of rushing it. There are some great directors nowadays too, but maybe in the old days they didn't have the sufficient equipment to rush things, maybe, maybe..
    3. Sam1982
It could also be that with a lack of special effects, there was more time spent on settings and lighting and tone - and the films were more story driven rather than an FX bonanza.
    4. freshtunesfinland
Lighting and tone is a very good point too, since those are essential mood-setters in movies. The whole "matured" - combo just has a certain feel to it, that's for sure.
  5. HollytheHousewife
    Yesssss,I love old movies...
  6. HollytheHousewife
It was all about the drama, gotta love sara bernhart...
  7. celticmusicfan
I am sorry Sam if I can't be around too much for a while. I discontinue with my DSL provider and is looking for a better deal. There have been issues when we have an outage. when i call to ask they tell me 'we have an ouage'. i asked "until when"? the response? "Oh well, we don't have a specific timeframe yet but our engineering department is working on it" Hmmp! an outage for three days That's too much.
  8. voodooKobra
I'm usually busy on Sundays and tired on Mondays.
  9. bettieblogger
well, we had a massive storm last night .. no power from about 2:00 am until 5:00 pm today so getting online was not an option for me .. power & phone lines were kaput.
  10. HollytheHousewife
Well I'm here again and still bored...
Maybe I'll go see if I can stir up some trouble on the politic side, but if it's this sluggish over here I can only imagine what's happenin over there
  11. idealpinkrose
i'm too busy during the days. I can only visit here after work.
  12. Epicharis
    I was sleeping 8 hours ago...it was 4am here
  13. Floormodel
I'm here now. I've been sick all weekend and sleeping off and on. Came here once yesterday but it said site was down so I went back to bed.
    1. HollytheHousewife
poor floor model, something is going around. I have been waking up with a bad headache every morning
  14. ladylyf

  15. melindaville
    I'm here. Where are you?
  16. cathy13
    I'm here too
    1. melindaville
It's kind of boring in here. I should be working anyway--but I want to chat and have fun. Maybe I need more coffee.
  17. writings
i am just back from Mars.
    1. melindaville
      How was mars?

I used to live on Mars in San Francisco. Seriously.
  18. writings
I loved it, but then i started to miss you all and came back.
I was talking about the red planet.
    1. melindaville
Ah--well, I would love to go to the planet Mars. I lived on Mars Street, which is located between Glen Park and Diamond Heights in San Francisco. I used to love telling people I lived on Mars!
    2. crpitt
You should watch Life on Mars, it's a great tv show
    3. melindaville
I never even heard of that show. I don't watch a whole lot of television (but I do have a television and even have cable). Is it a British show? I wonder if we get it here in the U.S. Seems like all that's on TV here anymore are trashy reality shows.
  19. writings
I too love to tell people that i actually belong to mars. am on a visit to earth.
    1. melindaville
Well, I sincerely hope you are enjoying your experiences with earthlings

    1. Epicharis
      see ya!
    2. Sam1982
So when do I expect me free eyewear sample to come my way then?
    3. Jeunelle
You must have missed my BC sunglass discussion which turned out to be a disaster and no one won.

Sexiest BC Member Competition - Free Ray Ban Sunglass
      www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/sexiest-bc-member-competition-free-ray-ba...

It may be time to try it one more time.

    1. Jeunelle
Thank God, somebody with half a brain.
This place would suck without you for real.
    2. Sam1982
There are some good people left on these boards, but I've been missing he antics and the light hearted/less serious threads
    3. Jeunelle
Agreed...unfortunately there are some who don't agree with us.
  25. greencurmudgeon
I'm here. Until I go there. But when I get there, it will be here.
  26. Smoothie1981
I think everyone is at the beach...well, all those in California anyways lol
    1. Sam1982
I can't wait for summer!! at least the weather gurus are predicting that our winter is coming to an end early.

      Global warming anyone?
  27. HollytheHousewife

    1. Sam1982
      Auckland, New Zealand
  28. Agit8r

    3. Sam1982
Damn, 3am? does such a time exist?
  32. Agit8r
    *tumbleweed rolls by*
    1. Sam1982
Indeed it does - whats the deal? isnt it supposed to be summer break in your neck of the woods? Why are you all going to bed so early??? Stay up and and converse with the rest of us (me) who live on the other side of the planet, and have only just had lunch
    2. Agit8r
I get up at 2AM, and will be going to bed soon

but that doesn't change the fact that it has been dead all day!

      maybe the rapture happened
    3. Sam1982
      I blame the eclipse
    4. Agit8r
      What eclipse?

*curses the rock he's been living under*
  33. Sam1982
There one happening over India and Asia at the moment supposed to be 6mins long or something like that, it'll be the longest until the year 2213.
Theres a scare surrounding it saying that its gonna effect the techtonic plates around Japan and cause earthquakes and tsunamis that will reach even us down at the bottom of the planet
    1. tcinvestor
Don't you just love the fear mongering....although over the next 3-4 years there will be an increase in extreme geological, meteorological, cosmological interactions causing intense weather, planetary plate shifting disruptions, extreme storms, and possibly even mass power outages and oh yea, bizarre human behavior...have you noticed it already in some people? Cyclical patterns at a time of culmination always create a bit of chaos.
    2. Sam1982
Yep my partner goes all crazy whenever there's a full moon.
    3. AngieA
      So does my partner
    4. Sam1982

    5. AngieA

    1. Sam1982
      have a good night
  37. Sam1982
Oh my - its happening again, everyone has fallen into the great abyss!!
  38. davedol
No kidding. Yeah, we are all pretty much talking to ourselves. But it is summer. Summer is downtime for blogging. I find it very hard to open my laptop this time of year.
    1. Sam1982
I can agree with you on that one - Its winter for me, not to mention that its four in the afternoon.

Im a one of a kind on these boards
    2. wagerwitch
      You are at that... *grin*
    3. siralmo
you mean one of 2 kind on these boards ^^
    4. Sam1982
I feel like the guy at the dance party whos taken too many uppers and im dancing by myself with the glow sticks while everyone has either passed out or gone home to bed.

@Siralmo, but you're across the ditch, and Im sure there is more of your kind on these boards
    5. siralmo
      hehe well yeh...

but i still feel quite alone at some points, esp when no one posts for like 40 mins
    6. Sam1982
@ WW - what does that mean

@ Siralmo I know what you mean - I would have thought that there would have been more bloggers (therefore more BC members) from our side of the globe
  39. davedol
Sam, we have a game. We can try to guess what region of the world you live in. It is 11 pm here in Chicago, USA, but 4 pm in the afternoon by you. You must be south of the equator for it to be winter. Factor in the big time difference. Hmm. It is late and I can’t figure it out. Anybody else guess where Sam lives?
    1. Sam1982
Most people here already know, I'm proud of my minority and we're a patriotic bunch.
    2. siralmo
hahahaha i know the answer ^^
    3. Sam1982
@ siralmo shhhhhh .....fush and chups
  40. davedol
Ok, more clues. A patriotic minority. This is not helping me any! I need a map. And I am bad with figuring out time in different regions.
    1. Sam1982
Ok, our people are referred to by a nickname that is taken from both the name of our biggest fruit export and it is also the name of our nation icon which happens to be a small flightless nocturnal bird
  41. davedol
Hmmm. I am drawing a blank. Fruit…apple, fig, pear, orange, kiwi, strawberry. Nope, that doesn’t work. Flightless nocturnal bird...even a bigger blank.

Can anyone else explain these clues?
    1. tcinvestor
A fuzzy fruit called a Kiwi and oh yea a fuzzy nocturnal bird called a Kiwi...Does that help Dave? I thinks Sammy took off to a new local in a self dug canoe and is rowing to Bora Bora to live out his days blogging, writing and clam diggin while pearl diving for extra cash.
  42. Sam1982
    Staring
    Waiting
    Wondering......

When are one of the "cool" people gonna log in and post something interesting????
    1. Rainhat
      Hey! *slap*

  43. hatingtherain
Just us dorks here. Keep waiting. It might be a long time!
  44. Sam1982
Hey dont get me wrong you guys are cool - Im just getting impatient. When the latest post on the discussion board is more than 10 minutes old I start getting rather bored
    1. hatingtherain
Yeah right! Me and Rainhat aren't going to put up with these insults anymore!

      (Rainhat, kick his ass!)
    2. Rainhat
      Yeah! What she said!

      *slap*

      *slap*

      *slapetyslapetyslapetyslap*

      So there!
    3. Sam1982
Ehem - but where is the insult?
    4. Rainhat
      Pfff... details.
    5. Sam1982
I was merely calling all "cool" people, I cannot help it if one does not consider themselves worthy of the title

In actual fact I just wanted someone to talk to
    6. Rainhat
Ah, but in that case I hereby decide that I'm cool too.

But alas, it's almost 4 am here, so I'm off to bed.
    7. Sam1982
      Goodnight
  45. cathy13
    *peeks in*

    *yawns*

    *goes away*
    1. Sam1982
hey, where do you think you're going????
    2. cathy13
      *stops*
      *blushes*
      *hangs head sheepishly*

      Hey Sam!

      *tap, tap, tap *
      *Yawns*
      *Goes away again*
    3. Sam1982
Is that a tired yawn or a boring thread yawn or an all of the above yawn??
    4. cathy13
Off to bed yawn! Night Sam!
    5. Sam1982
      Goodnight cathy
    1. Sam1982
Thank goodness, there are people here - I was beginning to think everyone had gone to bed
  46. HollytheHousewife
dammit... i swear I'm gonna do it one of these days
    1. Rainhat
You realize you're technically spamming, right?
  47. Sam1982
What BC needs is a counter of how many people are logged in - its hard to tell otherwise
  48. HollytheHousewife
    sam,whatcha been up 2?

as u can tell I'm a little bored
    1. Sam1982
Im bored too - I haven't been up to much, Im still at work.

      And you?
  49. HollytheHousewife
    nothing much...girls are down,hubby gone,puppies sleep,dishes dun...
    1. Sam1982
Sounds like a good time to get stuck into the top shelf then
    1. Sam1982
Top shelf - where all the good alcohol is kept
  50. tcinvestor
Hit me with a Goose & club soda - couple limes. Thanks
    1. Sam1982
Is it too early for tequilla shots?
    2. tcinvestor
      Just make mine Sauza Hornitos.
    3. dbowles1017
Its never to early to drink!
    4. Sam1982
      Not sure what that is
    5. HollytheHousewife
I'm not to good with shots, but an ameretto sour don't sound half bad right now
    6. tcinvestor
Sauza Hornitos is a type of tequila. Very smooth. Do you guys get Patron down there?
    7. Sam1982
Yep, we get all sorts. I never know what brand to get though. I dont drink it that often as it's the one drink that really kicks my a$$

Last time I did a tequilla binge I woke up in a dress on the kitchen floor, next to the fridge door which I'll pulled off the hinges, there and there were frozen peas and corn scattered throughout the house and potato wedges in the bottom of the shower.

And i can safely and honestly say I dont remember a thing that happened that night haha.

I was walking fine though, so no risk of violation
    8. tcinvestor
ROFLMAO...Classic. Yea, actually I don't drink it anymore myself.
    9. Sam1982
If I do drink it, its either one shot of it a night or mixed in cocktails
  51. HollytheHousewife
did u see sam I did it... for like 2 seconds
    1. Sam1982
      Yes I did - congratulations
  52. HollytheHousewife
that was fun... so now what is there to do??
    1. Sam1982
You can start a new topic about the asian economy and how it's coping during the recession
  53. HollytheHousewife

    1. Sam1982

What about the feeling of satisfaction you get from sculpting young minds...
  63. Deray28
Hey Sam!!! How is your daughter?
  64. Sam1982
back in hospital last week....again, but this time they gave us some medication that actually seems to be working - only took 3 visits to the hospital for them to get something right
    1. Deray28
Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I hope the new medication works for good!
    2. crpitt
Oh what a pain in the arse! and stressful

Hope she keeps getting better now.
    3. Sam1982
stressful being the key word, only a week out from the wedding/honeymoon and we want her well enough to be the flower girl and dont want her having an attack while we're away either. So far so good though shes doing fine, the meds are working and they dont make her hyperactive either like the last lot did, so im happy.
  65. LaurenM622
good luck with your daughter, sam... and good luck with the wedding!
    1. Sam1982
      thanks lauren
  66. Theresa111
