Which blogger do you secretly admire here?

Topics: bloggers you admire, sharing the love
I had the burning desire to publicly tell one of our members what a solid addition to the community they've been, and I got to thinking (once the WD40 went to work on the rusty cogs in my brain)...
Which blogger here do you want to give a special plug to that probably has no idea that you admire/respect them?
I'm not talking about a popularity contest, or the obvious friends we all converse with every day. I'm talking about the folks who are likely unaware that you appreciate them.
Is there anyone you'd like to send a special "hey, I'm glad you're here" message to?
I'll start.
I've mentioned a couple of times that I don't think Robert Stevenson gets enough credit for being a solid addition to the BC community. He's honest, takes the time to read people's blogs, and even offers poignant comments (quite a few people, judging from his "link to your last post" thread):
www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/link-to-your-last-post
So, Robert - just wanted to say that I appreciate the blogging you do, how considerate you are to other bloggers by routinely visiting/commenting on their sites, and your participation here. I think you make BC a better place.
Anybody else got any love they'd like to share? It's all about good karma, people.

I admire crkian. Chris helps a lot of BC bloggers in his own quiet and unassuming way every day. Aside from that he has a great blogging tips blog mattnutts.com/ He wrote the book on Blog Catalog and he gave away 100 courtesy copies free of charge

P.S. Yay! for Robert too.
-
Heh - you're a carazy horse!
I think I'd have to go with Ian Thal. He always makes great points, is very intelligent, balanced, and otherwise pretty nifty. Even if he does wear clown makeup *clowns - shudder*-
Oh you are all so kind. Now I wish people would admire me because of my clowning instead of in spite.

hmmm... I gotta say, I've never thought of this before. Perhaps I don't take the discussions here that seriously. I think it's nice you feel that way tho.
-
I'll be the 1st to say that even though MadameX and I don't always agree,
I do respect her as a mother and I actually think she is the bomb. OK
So people please don't be too shocked or throw up in your shoe.
I of course do like you KD, TT, BG, DM, Anok, richf, ekim, offendedblogger, RTBjr73, thriftshopromantic, nardeeisms, and a whole bunch more but I bet they already know I like them.-
Awwww thanks guy's I am deeply crushed.
Yes too many people take things so seriously, just relax and have fun already.
Life is too short and next thing you know, you're being cremated
and someone keeps your ashes in a bottle like a genie.
Nothings sacred. I mean who wants to go out like that?
Some people put that ash bottle right on top their tv sets.
Who wants to hear that annoying "Jeopardy" song playing in the background while you're dead?
-
The red dog (stoneman). I enjoy reading his insights as he always gets me thinking and I like that in a person.
-
I admire Anok, for realz. She is unafraid to speak her mind and has what we here in Idaho like to call some really big balls.
-
i like kdawg68. i may not visit or comment in his blog as often as he does mine, but i admire his passion for horse racing; it's clearly evident in the way he writes. i sometimes imagine if he were to have a personal blog and write the way he does in his aspiring horseplayer blog, how popular it would be! his friendliness and wit always adds something extra when he comments in my blog.

You're gonna make me tear up, Sulzie!!!!! And this gal, folks, is one of the most AWESOME people I've ever met either on the net or in real life.
I hope you know how often you've picked me up on down days or brought a smile to my face - and I hope you know how much I beam up like a neon sign when I see you're in the threads here on BC.

I admire everybody who have the guts to speak their mind about a subject, even if.. no, ESPECIALLY if it includes being politically incorrect and stepping on toes. Mad respect to you guys and gals
And I also really admire Robert Stevenson, for the same reasons as kdawg. -
-
Oh my gawd, I am SO touched by this. I can hardly believe it. You are so kind.
I have grown to really admire and love many of the people here. It has totally changed my outlook on blogging. Seeing your kindness, warmth, help and humor has made blogging more REAL for me. I thank you all from my heart. I really do. Hugs and kisses on the house!!!!

I'd like to nominate Ben Goodman. You all know that he's my friend just like you know Robin Easton is too. I truly do admire how balanced and sane he is and how helpful he is to other BC members. It's no wonder that he has such a helpful blog that just rocks. Ben rocks! www.ya-ttitude.com/blog
-
Ya - Now all you gotta do is tell me when he took over the Ya-ttitude.com blog?
Ben Goodman - shakes head...

I would have to say Time Thief and Benny Greenberg for contributing to the community among the others you have listed. Of course there are tons of people I really like here and enjoy chatting with.
-
-
To this point, I have a great respect for so many it would be tough to narrow it down.
I'd have to mirror my admiration for Anok, Chris, Benny, The Offended, TT and The Stoneman. I also have a little favor for KDawg (Love a sports fan) and I enjoy the ramblings of Miss DocKC.
Believe me...I could go on and on and on...but I make my "typing crushes" known. I make sure to show my appreciation and hope that I'm not too lame to participate.
So if I missed ya, it isn't that I don't love ya. -

Don't know a lot of you, but this has instantly become my new fun place to hang out. Out of all the places I've been to over the years (forums, web communities, websites), this is the only one that doesn't have trolls running rampant, nor does it stink like elitism that other places do.
-
I have to say that all of you guys @ BC have left a lasting impression on me. And I respect and admire everyone I have come into contact with here, despite any superficial disagreements or feathers I may have ruffled unbeknownst to me.
I have some strong opinions like any thinking person does, so I'm willing to accept responsibility that I may have inadvertently insulted someone.
Meh, I'm easy, I try to get along... mostly. -
I really appreciate TimeThief’s responses, even when she is being "attacked for using her right to an opinion" she is still gracious..
I enjoy reading Robin Easton's replies; she makes me smile a lot.
I get so tickled at Ekim and his quick witted responses to so many subjects. He is very funny, yet he also has a way of being sensitive too, depends on what is being talked about.
I absolutely love Anok, she is someone who speaks her mind, and walks the talk.. I truly appreciate someone who is like that...I find them more trustworthy, because they are true to themselves.
Jeunelle: is just pure fun! Sometimes I may not comment on her posts but I check back on the often just to see what she will say next.
I like global girl, because she also is one that sticks to her guns, when she really believes in something, and that is admirable.
Benny Greenberg: is very funny too, he has a great way of looking at the world, and it helps to alleviate the stress and tension.
Kdawg: is awesome, my admiration grew when you started a post on "I'm a horse..." That was over the top with a great sense of humor.
Offended blogger: well what can I say other then the offense that seems to come up when ever she shows up? I look forward to her comments. And miss her when she isn’t around.
crkian is always on his toes, he notices anything fishy about posts immediately and calls them on it. That just has to be a gift...
MadamX: so full of wisdom and is another one who is amazing at picking up the undertones of some posts right away and says something about it. I enjoy hearing from her.
Gosh, I could just go on and on.. I have made so many new friends and acquaintances here, and they are all so unique and amazing. I am so glad that I found blog catalog, and I my “tip of the hat” goes to the people who run this forum. Great Job! You’re the best!-
Oh ARCTICULATES that is SO beautiful what you wrote about us all. I am touched at the time and effort you took to write all that. You strike me as someone SOOOOO sincere and deeply kind. I sensed that about you right away. You are like an anchor for us all. I just love you.
I would change only one thing on your comment:
I would add ARCTICULATES to the list.

I have to mention Shirley (Shiley). She has a sort of quiet, unassuming presence that is always good-hearted and shows concern for others. She's also a dedicated mother.
-
I think SHILEY is the next DEAR ABBY. I'm dead serious.
When she did her questions she replied with wit, wisdom and warm humor. She would make a GREAT columnist for people to write in with their worries and questions. Her replies stood out amongst all replies. I'm tellin' ya SHILEY I see it in your future.

secretly admire?
Oh - that's easy
Amy Weber and all future celebrities who are 'real' enough to come join Blog Catalog and join in on the discussions! -
Thanks a bunch, Kdawg. I appreciate the shout out very much. It really means a lot to me -being noticed for having fun is always cool. I also appreciate timethief's and Daudleikr's kind words. You guys are all the best.
I can't seem to single any one person out. I'll have to cop out and plead the fifth. Many have helped me become a better blogger, many have made me laugh a lot, many have made me think and learn about myself. Most of you here I admire and a few other that haven't found the thread yet - the same folks we see day after day.
I'll go along with ekim and many others that we're one, big happy BC family. -
I have always been one to go for the less obvious and my most admired are seldom seen on the discussion boards...Pentad, Marcueto, Oims, Lizh, Quoteguy, Zunnur, Manchild, AnnaSellers, Marylynn321...Too many to name. Thank you guys! You are the best! - With love - Nards
-
Well, I am a little late to the Lovefest but let me say...
I have been a member for quite awhile, but only recently started getting active in the forums. That delay was mostly due to a little fear about how a blog regarding the taboo subject of my blog would be thought of.
What a mistake! Everyone has been absolutely fantastic and I have truly enjoyed getting to know all of your virtual personas!
Thanks to all and I look forward to getting to know you guys better!
Wow, I feel like I just left church

I can't specifically name one blogger, but I do know that there are some damn fine bloggers here. Smart ones, funny ones, you name it we got it. It's all gravy baby.
-
problogger is the best --- he gives great tips regarding blogging and adsense . thank u problogger .
-
the 2 baseball caps, the horse, the dog, the ninja, the blonde, the 2 eyes
Edit forgot the Romantic as well -
I need more coffee cause I've been up since 2:30 AM. When my brain is functioning I'll come back. That might be tomorrow.
-
So, if I tell then I don't secretly admire them anymore.
Honestly, I can't say I admire one person over another. We all have different things to offer as people. I feel that there is good in everyone it just needs to be tapped in to. I believe we all can and do make a difference to each other. Hey, crkian I really needed the info on link baiting, Timethief I needed the info on the links in the comments of my blog, nards you're a sweet person, Chelle you make me laugh, marcueto even though she probably won't see this gave me a nudge w/ PP, even the pointless one gave good advice concerning my son's ear infections. I could go on and on but I need to meet my son's class at the park. This isn't lack of sleep talking this is just who I am.
-
We're pretty lucky to have such a great group of folks overall.
I've learned a lot from all the very different personalities here-- two legged, four legged- four-year-olds, ninjas, people with dolls glued to their faces or handpuppets to their hands...
Heh- it would make a great spoof of the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour album cover, wouldn't it?
-
"whos trench reynolds"
He's been blogging since the Clinton administration...He runs www.mycrimespace.com and www.newsofdoom.com and quite a few others.
He's a great guy...one of the finest person's I've ever meant online.
Thanks for the response crkian! -
Somebody I forgot to mention - now this person is on my "top friends" list, so I'm sort of bending my own rules - but they are someone that pops into my head at the most random times. As a blogger, they post some deeply thought provoking material that seems to reach me on a very personal level.
Our one and only Pentad. Where's she been lately? Come on Tam - got a big hug here with your name on it!
-
I hate everyone here.
Actually there are a lot of things that I have taken from people there. Be it just outlook, advice, techniques, attitude, different points of view. While I am a sarcastic jerk at most times I really value the community here and obviously spend way too much time here. -
Benny- ever so helpful
Poinlessbanter - even though sometimes i want to strangle him with his stumbles and diggs
Offended blogger - hilarious to boot
Timethief - all that is spiritual and more.
Alex - because i know he knows
Rob - I enjoy listening to your megaphone
ekim - When i grow up, I'll want to date a man just like you.
Momscrazy life - utter admiration is what i have for you
Thriftshopmaniac - Coz she can pick out Kenya on a map and call the police on me. :-)
Carlgalloway - You know why. -
late again... hmmmm if I tell it's not a secret anymore!
kidding aside I admire every blogger in here especially all BC members who are very helpful and friendly to everyone.. they see the good instead of criticize
I think that's what the world needs helpful and non-judgmental people... you all rock!
I always say BC people are the best! (except for some inconsiderate people here and there, they are very few and won't stop me from coming back here and ask stoopid questions sometimes :D) -
-
Nobody. If I admire someone, even a little, I let it be known. What's the point of admiring someone (or even just an aspect of someone's personality) if you don't let them know?
-
I also forgot to mention Thriftshop...she's pretty witty and cute...er, knowledgeable.
I truly think that anyone that blogs that isn't involved here is missing out. Even if they only get on once in a while (GroovyChiky) or are here non-stop (Bennie who gets others to write his blog while he hands out advice and positivity-ness)
I'm so thankful to everyone, and enjoy the hour or two I spend here. -

I forgot to say who ... I featured a post by robertsetevson, and mentioned Jeunelle
blog.beyourowndetective.net/2008/06/be-your-own-detective-and-social.html
and on another post I bandied Chell's name around
blog.beyourowndetective.net/2008/06/free-public-records-search-links-no.htm... -
i've only been here a short time but would agree with Robert
have gotten warm welcome also from Pentad
i lurk about as much as i comment at this point
and tend to be a little late to the party
