Do you blog about one particular thing like say - Technical things or is it made up of various different kinds of topics or is it like a personal diary? How would you describe your blog?

its a personal blog...i blog about the incidents happening in my everyday life

I had a rather eclectic blog at Horse Drawn Vehicles, with some patriotic posts mixed in with humor and life in a rural setting. An excellent suggestion from a more experienced blogger suggested separating the posts and concentrating on a single theme.

So, my new blog 'American Patriot' is directed more toward a conservative patriotic look at America and her foibles while the original HDV is more about rural life, extraordinary people and weirdness.

the Erection kind of category mixed in with a fair dose of Orgasm reality.

Sorcerer, I always list mine under "writing" because nothing else seems to fit. I looked at the entertainment categories....but can we call literature entertainment?? Nothing seemed to fit really....
    1. libdrone
just fyi, here on BC Books is a subcategory of Entertainment. This does make sense but I found it very un-intuitive.

    Mine is all about health
    - medical conditions
    - prevention
    - medical science discoveries
    - health care

My blog belongs in the hopelessly inconsequential category. That was probably a mistake on my part. There's way too much competition in that category.

By clicking on any members' avatar you will arrive on their BC Profile page. There you will find the Blog description including the two (2) Category listings their blog appears in the Directory under, and the six (6) tags their blog will appear under in Search utility results.

I write aphorisms-which are uncategorizable. Nine out of ten persons-including my wife of 30 years-don't even know what they are.

      @nothingprofound
This is just a suggestion from a former librarian. If you don't mind me saying so, I think "aphorisms" ought to be one of the tags for your blog so it is displayed when anyone searches for that word. I also think that you ought to consider using these synonyms as tags, as well: adages, catchphrases, maxims, proverbs, sayings.
    2. meamwye
I was one of the ignorant ones! I googled 'aphorisms' right after my first landing at your blog.
    3. nothingprofound
TT-you know how ignorant I am of this whole blogging business. How would I do that? I don't even know what a "tag" is.
    4. libdrone
@timethief "former librarian". No wonder you are so helpful and knowledgeable! I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not having figured that out without being told. just thought I would mention-- you rock!!

      (1) On your profile page click "Manage Blogs" www.blogcatalog.com/account.php

      (2) When that page loads in the sidebar at the top click "Edit Your Blog Listing"

      (3) When that page loads scroll down to "Tags"
Tags are labels describing your blog content that make it easier for visitors to find your blog and related content.

      (4) Type your tags into the six (6) boxes provided below:
aphorisms, adages, catchphrases, maxims, proverbs, sayings

      (5) Click "Update Tags" and you are done.

      @libdrone
Hi there. Thanks for the compliment. I'm a former "retriever" ie. a research and reference librarian. And those skills are the ones I use every day for my contracted work. I frequently notice that the tags BC members choose to assign to their blogs are either inappropriate or poor choices.
    7. nothingprofound
      Figured it out. Thanks TT.
    8. timethief
I'm glad to hear it and best wishes for an increase in targeted readers.
  9. newblogmogul
Mine is a sports blog that incorporates music, artists and a little of what goes on in the business world.
  10. Norski
One of my blogs, Apathetic Lemming of the North, is quite strictly limited to that which exists - or might exist - within the observable universe. For the most part.

Another is more of a personal blog,

    Others are about:
    • A Catholic's experience in America
      • Yeah, I'm one of those
    • Outdoor grilling
    • A fictional (more or less) angsty artist
    • Writing a science-fiction/speculative story (more or less)
    • My take on the 21st century's first global conflict
    • Other stuff
I've tried to limit myself to one topic/one blog. I'm up to 11 now.

You won't find the most recent in BlogCatalog's listing - I'm waiting until they've got a track record before submitting them. (See A Small World of Websites: asmallworldofwebsites.com - a shameless plug if I ever saw one.)
  11. MissSuzie
I blog about my life. It can be random at times, but it is always chuckle worthy.
  12. Rivy
    art, journal, humor, memoir
  13. owlbarn
Mine is listed under Birds and Shopping.
Do you think it can be listed under some different category?
  14. Achyut
It's interesting..because initially I started my blog about Cricket sport and slowly also started on Art- my drawings, poems, experiences, spirituality etc.....So it became a mixed bag and I decided to make another blog too which is divided into various categories. That's the only solution I could think of for a blog like mine.
  15. Roseb44170
Well my professional blog is about grants - government and otherwise so I guess that would put it in a financial category.

I also have a blog about working from home

    roseb44170.blogspot.com

and the best category for the above blog would probably be business.

I have more than the 2 blogs mentioned above

the3dbeginner.blogspot.com - would come under the heading of 3D (and 2D) art and those that are interested in it.

theunclaimedmoneyblog.blogspot.com - would also come under the "financial" category since it has to do with money, finances and consumer news.
  16. oreosmom
my cute kitten! it's lots of pictures and funny stories.
  17. amybyrd21
homesteading and cooking. I come up with different recipes and Iown hogs, bees, chickens, a horse and ducks
  18. BeamingBalance
I guess "self-help"... I write about all kinds of things but generally tie back to the central focus of life balance strategy.

    And wine. :-)
  19. wagerwitch
    Gambling!

And Free Casino Bonuses and First time player bonuses and all sorts of free money at Online Casinos!

Not to mention I also have a personal blog on here as well which has cool songs from my band - some pictures of the area I am about ready to leave - and some other interesting things!
    1. Shiley
Like the music BTW. I like head bangy music (my new word )
  20. Shiley
I have 3 personal blogs one about our home, homeschool, and just me. I have a news blog as well but that is sitting for the time being.
  21. geekchick
I blog about mostly research in the crossroads of classical music or music lessons, and neuroscience, education, economics, or health.
    1. petchatter
Mine is about animal communication. Lately there has been a lot concerning ethics and evolution. Reincarnation comes up often. Sometimes it ends up being about holistic remedies I've used with the animals.

What I find difficult is trying to stay focused on the core topic. There are other interests I have that I'd like to blog about, but I just can't commit to another blog and I don't want to water this one down.
