Which is phoney?

the recently reported "911 tape account" of the Henry Louis Gates arrest?
"Contrary to published reports that a 'white woman' called 911 and reported seeing 'two black men' trying to gain entry into Mr. Gates home, the woman, who has olive colored skin and is of Portuguese descent, told the 911 operator that she observed 'two men' at the home..."
or the "official" police report???
"...I turned and look in the direction of the voice and observed a white female, later identified as Lucia Whalen. Whalen, who was standing on the sidewalk in front of the residence, held a wireless telephone in her hand and told me that it was she who called. She went on to tell me that she observed what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the porch of ___ Ware Street. She told me that her suspicions were aroused when she observed one of the med [sic] wedging his shoulder into the door as if he was trying to force entry...."

I just heard that actual call from her on MSNBC. She didn't mention anything about race until the dispatcher asked her specifically about the racial identity of the men who were thought to be breaking in. At that point, she said, she *thought* one looked Hispanic and the other, she said, she couldn't tell because he had already entered the residence.
She also told the dispatcher that the two men had suitcases so they might actually live there. Whalen said she hadn't seen the incident occurring but had been alerted by a worried neighbor, which prompted her call.
If that's the 'official report' you have there--the cops are lying because the tape is really clear.-
The supposed 911 call account mentions a woman named Murphy who is appearently a "non-white" portuguese woman or "olive skined" (some hair-splitting distinction--I lose track
)
Whalen is appearently another woman... i guess. Maybe more than one person called 911 because Skip was entering his own house. Glad i don't live in Klambridge!
Appearently one of them let Crowley know--either on the phone or in person-- that the men were "black" or Crowley added that after the fact in order to cover for himself. There are definately details of this mess that we haven't heard yet, but the racism-deniers are getting really disgusting about this -
Ah, interesting! The plot thickens! So there may have been more than one 911 call. I actually wouldn't be surprised.
The Cambridge police have been backpeddling furiously since the incident occurred. I was in Boston all last week (not there now so I can't tell you what local news is reporting about it). -

I think that report comes from the Fox News crowd. they compare everybody to Glenn Beck
