All along, I've been using Nokia phones. Just 2 days back, I bought a new mobile, Sony Ericsson W850i. My brother and i now holding onto the same model of phone. what attracts me was its interface, a whole lot better compared to Nokia. The sound quality is good, interface is good. To make things simple, the overall is great.

Perhaps, I shall write a review of the phones tat i've been using in my blog.

My first 2 phones were Nokia's then I started using Sony Ericcson. IMO, Nokias have waaay too many features while SE keep their phones simple. Personally, the SE line of mobiles seem to be a whole lot less chunky, which is very important when you think of everything else that has to go into your pocket or bag.

yup. i agree with u. Most nokia phones are a bit bulky, troublesome for ladies who have small handbags. And tat's something tat i dislike about. Previously, i have been using Sony Ericsson and give me no trouble at all. Whereas, NOkia keep giving me prob.

w880i is a superb phone - i have issues with Sony recently - faulty laptop, tv and the phone which got bad case of dust under screen after just a month but all sorted now.

Thats the mobile I have at the moment, and I love it. =D It's just so small it can fit in any pocket without taking up all the space.

For slider phones, usually dust will be accumulated on the screen.
      I m in love with my w850i

My first mobile ever was a 5110 lol, any mobile would be an improvement over that one.

I've had around 5 Nokia phones in the past. They were all OK. Now I have a Sony Ericsson Z610i for one line, which is pretty amazing except I had to send it back for repairs last month and it hasn't even been with me for a year, and a Motorola V323i for another. I'm a satisfied customer, I should say.

I've been working in nokia care for 2 years. Usually, when Nokia phones are out in the market, they would have lots of problems especially the 1st batch of each model.

I live in a country where our freedom to choose is somewhat limited: the USA. Here your phone is tied to the phone service though which you buy it. Even though you buy and own a phone, you can't just do that and pick the service you want. It goes the other way around. So much for the free market in the land of the free . . .

In this new world, every company is trying to monopolize industries. Sometimes I wonder what the heck they are talking about when they proclaim to boost the best competitiveness in each country.

Hey stoneman, which carrier do you use? If you are running T-Mobile or AT&T/Cingular you have far more options than you might think. You can buy almost any unlocked phone and just drop your SIM card in.

And can I install whatever software I want? Or must I buy from my provider?

What kind of software would you like to install?

I've been using XDA's for the past 3 years so my next phone would still be an XDA.

Until a short while back I would have given 100% to Nokia. But if I were to choose now, I`d go for Samsung anytime.

Oh nooooo! You shouldn't have bought a Sony Ericsson. Even their name is ugly.
