Seriously, I haven't seen a movie that really made me pee in my pants. Can you suggest one. Even youtube videos will do. But no comical stuff here.

    All time scary...'ALIEN'!
    1. busylizzy
      Definitely the first ALIEN movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    2. Sway
I think the second was more scary
    3. LGramlich
Agreed. The 1st one scared the living crap out of me as a kid.

Only film that has ever made me scream was the original 'House on Haunted Hill' which was really awful...but quite scary!
  3. greencurmudgeon
I've had a good scare from the original Alien. It's what you *can't* see that is most frightening.
  4. busylizzy
IN SPACE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM!

Paranormal Activity - technically it hasnt been released yet and may never have the widespread release it deserves. Last I heard dreamworks brought the film and are taking all the clips and trailers off the net before anyone can see them - so that they can remake the film and make it their own.
But basically ( i admittedly havent seen the whole thing ) its like blair witch/quarantine/cloverfield but centres around a couple living in a haunted house.

"Alien". Well I am a real fan of that movie. But I don't that made me shit in my pants.

i have a really hard time sitting through one of the "saw" movies.

    The Shutter
    (The original Thai version)
The idea that a neckpain could be the result of some evil presence clinging on you scares like hell I couldn't sleep for days. By the way, I also write ghost stories in my blog:

I agree. Shutter is the scariest I've seen so far.

(thank you for revealing the plot twist )

Try the old thriller Psycho. Scared me when I was 12 and still does.

The original b/w "Haunting", "the Ring", and "Aliens"

The Ring gets really creepy in the end. Although don't bother watching the sequel. Exorcist can be creepy if you watch it late at night and alone. I think if you watch a horror and let it get into your head you could get creeped out easily.

    Polanski's "Repulsion".
  13. ThriftShopRomantic
As a kid, it was Poltergeist....

Monsters in closets, evil clown dolls, being eaten by trees, thunder, gore, rogue technology, and Craig T. Nelson as your dad...

    All terrifying.
    1. aningeniousname
That was quite creepy when it first came out I remember the medium's voice scared me as a kid.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
      "This house is clean...."

Oh, wait, that was a quote from a "How Clean Is Your House?" episode. My bad.
    3. aningeniousname
I am working on a similar TV idea to "How clean is your house"
I call it "How clean is your mouse" It's essentially the same format but obviously I check the hygiene of people's pet mice rather than their houses.
We then show them better ways of cleaning their mice and then give the mouse a full makeover at the end.
    4. ThriftShopRomantic
      Would it be a Minnie-series?
    5. aningeniousname
Naughty corner!! Right now young lady!
    6. ThriftShopRomantic
Hangs head.... shuffles off to naughty corner...

(Brings crayon to draw on walls...)
    7. larrybrains
I think you can come out of the corner now ThriftShopRomantic.

I watched 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' years ago and it scared the hell out of me.

And I'd already read the book and knew what was going to happen.

    Depends what scares you really.

Movies like Hitchcock's 'The Birds' make me feel very uncomfortable when they're all crowded on the wires, and that's scary enough for me.
    1. larrybrains
That is a pretty fine movie indeed. Sets good mood. Another movie that sets a similar intense ominous tone like that is Apocalypse Now.
  15. larrybrains
Eden Lake is pretty intense, it is my favorite survival horror movie.

Midnight Meat Train is really gory, I don't know about scary, but it is gory, and quite good as well.

    Those are my two suggestions.
  16. jims
I think I saw Eden Lake. 'Intense' here is an understatement!
    1. larrybrains
Yes, it is an absolutely fantastic, nail biting, edge of your seat, wincing fest, gem of a movie.
  17. ttiger
The first evil dead was scary as well
    1. Sam1982
rumour has it that IT is being re-made for the big screen. There was a lot of debate as to write the sex scene between the kids into the movie version. Safe to say in my opinion it doesnt need it

Alien I was scary for me and I am still getting over V the birthing scene. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TufUH1T-F18&NR=1

I thought the 'Halloween' series of films were very scary and full of suspense. Michael Myers was such a good character and all of the movies were very successful at the box office. For a classic film I love Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds'.
