In your opinion and experience which topic or a category of blog can attract the maximum traffic. For example:
sex related, money making,SEO,how to increase traffic, political, happiness, cuisine, travel, home remedies, flirting tips etc..etc. The focus is on 'content'.

An interesting one.
That wasn't a wise-guy answer. Literally, a topic has to be interesting. To a lot of people.
Sex and getting rich quick are obvious topics: but apart from ethical considerations, I'd say that they're also crowded.
A quick look at Google's zeitgeist ( www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html ) shows that celebrities are perennial high-interest topics.
My guess is that a celebrity blog might be quite successful.
I wouldn't do it myself: not because I don't approve, but because I don't understand the culture, and would find it hard to mimic the dialect. -

I'd like to address your question and reply to it by coming from a different angle, so to speak. IMO the topic(s) that are likely to bring the most traffic to your blog are those that you know very well and can write passionately about over a sustained period of time.
If your only criteria for content is getting hits then IMO that's not the best starting point for a blog. Hits have to be viewed carefully because if the bounce rate is high then the message to the blogger is: "you have failed to create a faithful following of readers -- a community".
Over the long term, no blog that I know of has been "successful" without the creation of such a "community". So if the hits reflect a bounce high rate and, if the blogger doesn't get the message and act on it then the death of the blog may be rapidly approaching.-
Thanks.
I could see some sunlight through the passing clouds. I think, both-Norski and Timethief are logical in their views. With a subject like 'celebrities' there is always an interest but whether it should be regional or global? If regional then you get regional visitors and on global 'celebrities' why a regional visitor should be interested?
In my year's experience of trying to create a niche blog and working hard, still I don't have a 'community' and have a bounce rate of 77%. Hence my question on 'topic'. I hope if some more of our friends can throw light!

Well, personally, I try to include the words "miley cyrus" + "naked pics" at least five times in every post
I don't of course. It would get me plenty o' hits but those people wouldn't stay to read what I have to say, which is what's important.

I agree with this.
Instead of thinking about what will attract hits, think about what you know about, what you're passionate about and what you can offer the internet that no-one else again. -
I had a look at your blog. A few thoughts:
1. The content is fine. The content is good. Don't change it.
2. Brush up on your grammar and re-read for typos.
3. You need more white space. Remember when writing for the internet, you have to assume your readers have ADD.
- Write in short, simple sentences.
- Don't write long paragraphs - two or three sentences is about right - and make sure you leave a space between paragraphs.
- Use bullet points and topic headings, where applicable.
4. Take out the ads. They undermine the integrity of your posts and probably aren't making you much anyway. If you must have ads, make sure they're RELEVANT to your content, eg. tours to India, and not intrusive.
If you're only blogging for money, consider setting up a lemonade stand outside your house instead.
5. Your pictures are great but consider positioning them throughout the post to break up the text.
6. Your blog is quite cluttered.
I'd consider using a tag cloud instead of a label list.
You can get one here phydeaux3.blogspot.com/
And also replacing all the widgets with something like "share this" which does the same job with just one.
sharethis.com/
And maybe just simplifying a bit but that's a personal feeling.
7. Don't wait for readers to find you. If you're not already, post on travel forums and subscribe to other travel blogs.
8. Most importantly, offer good content, something you would want to read. If you write a post based on SEO words no-one will stick around to read it. In other words, if you say you've got naked pics of Miley Cyrus you better deliver
Hope that's helpful to you! -
