Topics: give, take
There are basically two types of people. Those who take and those who give.
We are now faced in the United States with people becoming takers instead of being givers. Takers expect people to provide for them. Givers want to help others rise to becoming givers.
Which are you, A Taker or A Giver?

Both, like most people.
And, actually, I'd say a much bigger problem is people who take obscene amounts in a world of dwindling resources is a much bigger problem than people being "provided for" with things like food and health care. -

Are those really the only two options? Seems that "giver and taker" implies the presence of a victim. After all, one acceptes a gift, one doesn't take it. What about creators? This country used to be full of them, creating new concepts of freedom, opportunity and representation; creating railroads, airlines, retail chains, computer companies, jobs, wealth. What about providers and contributors, earners and helpers? Most importantly, ask yourself who the takers are today - what are they taking, and from whom are they taking it? Now, ask yourself who the "giver" is in that equation.

Let's see. I take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide - imperiling our delicate ecological system or feeding trees, depending on your point of view.
I depend on people for support, directly or indirectly - as readers, family, friends. I give to people, directly or indirectly - as a writer, member of the family, friend.
So, in answer to the question "am I a giver or a taker?" - Yes.
