Which way do you eat your chicken in dumplings? The northern way or the sourthern way? I took the southern end of the great debate for the article on Halfhormeal.com for the food for thought blog. Check out the blog and let me know which one you like best. (No it wont hurt my feelings if you dont pick mine)

I have never eaten that dish but looking at the recipes the Northern style sounds more appetizing for me, sorry Amy

They sell whole chickens in a can. I got one and my dogs would not eat it. Handme looked at me like I was strange.

I'm a drop-in dumpling gal. It's the way I've always had them, and the way my family loves to eat them.

p.s. Mom was a Pennsylvanian. I guess that explains it.

I am going home for lunch to eat some left over today. We make pie dough, roll it out and cut in strips for thick noodles. The noodles are dropped into boiling broth with the chicken already deboned. I love it. It is messy to make though.

We call it chicken and pastry.

Dumpling... that sounds like something that comes from a butt...
    1. amybyrd21
That is probably why my hubby wont eat them lol he says he doesnt like his bread slimey at all. Now the kids ate the whole pot so I dont have to worry. He wont eat eggs because they come from a chicken butt either.

If it tastes of feel at all like soggy bread count me out! I hate soggy bread!
    3. amybyrd21
not soggy just chewy. Hubby gets mad if his bread is moist at all as in put smething hot in a bag and put it in the fridge. He refuses to eat it.

I think I've eaten it at souplantation or somewhere like that and it was just plain disgusting. I'm quite skeptical of the dish myself.
