Every day, I get multiple hits to my writing blog on image searches for "Tori and Rick". Those visitors land to a post that includes a photograph of my daughter Tori with Rick Springfield, but I'm just sure that's not what they're looking for. I don't, however, have ANY idea who the real Tori and Rick are or why so many people are looking for a picture of them together. Since we seem to have a pretty broad spectrum in terms of age and geography here, I'm hoping someone can shed some light.

No idea, but the only famous Tori I remember is Tori Spelling. I think she has a reality show but we don't get it (thankfully) where I live. Well, even if we did I wouldn't be watching it.

Could be hundreds of Tori and Rick pairings out there, no? And hundreds of naive Google users.

In theory, that makes sense, but the same is true for any number of names that appear on my blogs, and this is the only one I get regular traffic on. It's not a ton of traffic, but an average of 7-10 hits a day from different searches. That leads me to believe that there's something specific those people are looking for.

      did ya google it, lol

Yep...and after your comment I googled Tori Spelling Rick and came up empty, too.

RIck Springfield. LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!! What a blast from the past!!!

I get a bunch of google hits from people in south america searching for "hack de soul"

    Like, whatever!
    1. MadameX
is "hack de soul" something real? I just want to know what these people are looking for! Whatever it is must not be very high profile, since I'm ranking so high with my single photo in a single post...yet a lot of people seem to be looking for them.

      PS: Don't dis Rick.

I get tons of hits for the lyrics to Alanis Morrsette's Uninvited , but I used the lyrics in one of my posts so that makes sense

I used to wear a cute little t shirt with an ironed on photo of Rick Springfield. He was such a handsome lad.
    1. Theresa111
Is a handsome fellow. I wore that shirt out!

Did you click on the search link to see what else turned up so you might get a clue about it?

I immediately thought of Rick Astley though, so I'm of no use

I did, Anok, and I didn't find anything that would account for the volume of searches...it's crazy. I have no clue who they're looking for.
    2. Anok
That is crazy. I know I have been getting quite a few hits that land on a post I probably should not have done, and it always worries me a bit when someone googles something a little too specific for my taste, and winds up on my blog 0_o

However, for laughs, I did get some good search terms as of late:

discipline means success and anarchy means ruin (boy were they disappointed after reading MY blog! )

anok what you got (nuthin, whatchoo got?)

where to find ideals for church children ages5-16 (not my blog! )

over the shoulder boulder holders gag gift (they're big, they're not that big!)

      i can't get shit (I'm sorry? )

You can always ask. I had someone hitting in on my blog from Iowa for hours at a time and reading what looked like the ENTIRE blog for days on end. With no comment to help me out, I posted about lurkers and regulars and asked everyone to check in. I added a little "(hello Iowa!)" to it and, sure enough, I got an email from a woman who just happened to be fascinated with my paltry little life and read my entire blog. She didn't know how to comment (I didn't have anonymous commenting then) so she just didn't do it at all.

They only land to that one post, though, and don't stay (since my Tori and Rick clearly aren't the ones they're looking for)...I'd have to put a caption on the picture that said "What Tori and Rick were YOU looking for??"

Which might be kind of entertaining, now that I think about it.

Do it Tiffany! That would be hysterical!
    4. Anniepooh
Since I really did LOL when I read that, yeah - do it!

The photo was just too far down the post...I'm figuring people who were looking for something specific don't make it that far. I did add a note to the top of the post, though. We'll see...

You might have just created a new page that will now draw hits as well as ask your question. Maybe you'll get your answer. How many times have Tory and Rick been repeated on this page?
  12. ChicaX
I don't know who they are, in fact when I did some google investigation, this thread was the number one result...

I think you should charge this Tori and Rick some rent.
