      Freecreditreport.com is one of the scam sites created to cash in on the laws requiring that the three major credit bureaus are required to provide people with one free credit report each year (more in some states). There is an official website ( www.annualcreditreport.com ) where the credit reports are actually free without the requirement that you purchase or sign up for something else--the moment that site was set up, a number of businesses, including freecreditreport.com, sprang up to capitalize on the confusion by diverting traffic and selling things to people who are actually looking for their free credit reports.
