For myself, Miles Davis, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Bugs Bunny come to mind.

Keanu Reeves, Christopher Walken, Jackie Chan, Kevin Spacey

I like quirky, self-effacing but solid guys

      Excellent criteria.

Jackie Chan is the one of that lot I'm halfway familiar with. A solid pro, with real abilities and a refreshing lack of artistic temperament.

      (Compare Naomi Campbell?)
  2. Pentad
    Johnny Depp.

Cary Grant has to go in here as well
  4. Keeperottheway79
OK.. My wife said George Clooney..

Clooney IS the modern-day version of Cary Grant. Tom Hanks, IMHO, is the modern day version of Jimmy Stewart.
  5. Keeperottheway79
My God, you're right.. I never noticed that before! And Tom is one of my favorite actors..

Michael Jordan has to go on the cool list.

    Curley, Larry, and Moe.

    now maybe Audrey Tatou

Coolest couple: Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall

Good choice. In one sense of "cool," at least.

Reverend Schnor from Jerry Springer is quite cool, because he always brings the wine.

ANGELINA JOLIE! The hot, diverse, mother, do-gooder of the world, with Brad Pitt, and kicks butt?? She's a real life super hero!
  12. Norski
I'll go with Buggs Bunny, with Donald Duck as a runner-up.

Donald Duck, because he carries off his unique brand of artistic temperament off with flair and class.

    Got to be Chelle B.

Bono, I love how he puts himself out there and doesn't care if people like his political agenda or not. Gwen Stefani for being creative in different facets of art and she seems like she'd be cool to hang out with. Dwayne Johnson, he seems very down to Earth, is almost always nice to his fans/signs autographs and I like the idea of trying to bounce quarters off of his muscles.

Don't be ridiculous you guys! It's Cool McCool, of course:

He is by definition the coolest personality EVER!

I got to meet R.Lee Ermey while smoking a cigarrette at LAX. The dude is "in character" 24/7. I thought he was going to call me "Private Pyle" and yell obsenities at me. Cal Ripken was pretty cool as well.

I put a microphone on Jeff Fisher (coach ot the Titans) and Brian Billick (than coach of the Ravens) for Monday Night Football once (it's a long story). They were both awesome and talked to you as if you had been lifelong friends.

    So wait.

I'm entirely sure that I responded in this thread weeks ago, and somehow it's vanished.'

Maybe one of our admins doesn't like Bob Geldof?
  21. MyMajor
I vote for Eric Clapton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and David Beckham

      Hahahaha...

Let's see. My hero was Robby Fowler, but I guess the racist-bashing Zinedine Zidane gets in. I thought Johnny Depp was cool, but he moved to France. Morrissey is pretty smooth and I like his music and politics. Jackie Chan makes me chuckle. And of course... Chuck Norris. Kidding!

Bono and Geldof are my two least favorite people on the face of the planet, and I aint even met 'em!
    1. MadameX
      Wow.

You prefer mass murderers, terrorists, and government officials who exterminate their own people for political gain to Bono? He must have done something harsh to you.
    2. daniel23
Yup. He appeared on the radio over and over again. I bet Vladimir Putin would sound much better on supermarket radios...

    1. Johnny Depp - because he's has the guts to take roles that none would even consider.
    2. Tyrese Gibson - because he's very inspirational and reaches out to his supporters all the time. He's one of the most humble persons I personally know.
    3. Dalai Lama - because he embodies peace and wisdom.
    4. Bono and Al Gore - for their efforts to raise awareness for social and "green" issues and disparities
    1. daniel23
Oh, I'm glad you reminded my of Al Gore. He goes on my list with Bono and Sir Geldof.
