Who do you put your trust in?
Doctors?
Politicians?
Scientist?
Preachers?
Who can you trust?
Do you believe something because someone says it's so?

I actually had to make a few decisions regarding trust recently when Hubby decided we needed living wills. One was regarding health care in the event I become incompacitated mentally or physically. I had to think LONG and hard on that one! I don't trust medical professionals enough to allow them to make decisions on my behalf in that situation, so my will reads that their advice can be taken into consideration - but all decisions are to be made by my husband (or oldest son in the event hubby has passed, or in the same shape as me.)
Then I had to decide who would get custody of the youngest (13 year old) if hubby and I were to both suddenly die or become incompacitated. I chose the middle daughter, because she's the most stable and financially secure. So out of 5 kids - I only truly TRUST 2. -
Trust is a funny word. I think that people use the word in different ways. For me, it's more about knowing what to expect than it is about expecting perfection. Other humans can't be "trusted" to do everything right all the time and never hurt you--they just can't. We're imperfect creatures. That doesn't mean that we don't reach out in faith, counting on the best in the people who are close to us and in loyalty and good intentions to help them get it right most of the time.

Personally I trust no one. Doctors, Scientist, etc they have all been wrong at some point or another. One minute the Doctor or Scientist will tell you that eating tomatoes will cause breast cancer and other times they come back and tell you to scratch that.
I too have been wrong at some point or another. -

Tilting at windmills hurts you more than the windmills. The only three faithfull things in life are money, a dog and an old woman.

Doctors?
Politicians?
Scientist?
Preachers?
If I MUST pick one of the four you mentioned, I would pick scientists.
Do you wonder if doctors seem to have turned into salesmen that look at operations and procedures as a way to finance their lifestyles rather than to be healers?
Is it obvious to most that some preachers will say whatever their congregation tells them to say rather than to preach out of religious beliefs and conviction?
Has anyone noticed that politicians tend to believe in whatever gets them elected?
Is it possible that some scientists fudge their findings to get funding for their research? This may not exactly be a trustworthy and honest practice, but at least they have a reason for the deception that is not entirely self serving.-
@msbaby....Good points raised.
Yes to all your questions above. We are prone to error, are very selfish and full of lust,
we do things for selfish reasons sometimes, so yes I can see where it can all go very wrong.
If we were using 100% of our brain, I doubt we would be exercising any of these above.
Surely we would come to realize that we are bigger than that.

I guess putting your complete trust in anyone is not such a good idea..It is better that you keep yourself informed and do research if possible on any given subject that someone has told you! Rather then accepting things at face value..
So my answer is I do not completely trust any of the above listed, as they are not completely infallible and neither am I.

The only thing I really trust these days is the demonic looking bunny rabbit named "Frank" who appears to me and prophesizes the end of the world. He seems legit. I've got no reason to doubt him.

I trust:
Scientists, when the subject is science.
Doctors, hardly ever, sadly.
Preachers, it depends. I have known one much beloved, giving, inspirational preacher.
Politicians, very difficult to believe them
P.S Respectfully suggest the typo be corrected to read "Whom". -

Trust is such a funny word. I trust none of the above and all of the above. I trust that they will say whatver promotes their individual causes whether that is a lie or truth.

You go girl. Excellent answer except about trusting all of them. For the most part, most people can be trusted at any given moment. Now flip that. Most people, also, can not be trusted at any given moment.

I trust my husband. Well I must do - I'm trying to lose the white line across my nose from my sunglasses so I'm walking with my eyes closed holding on to his arm when we're out in the sun. He hasn't led me into any walls yet!
Of the ones you list, I wouldn't trust any group of people, just individuals who I have gained confidence in (which implies a level of trust to start with, but the option of withdrawing it). Take any group and you'll get someone arguing every side of the subject. Like global warming - there are scientists of repute on both sides of that argument, not just one.
Would I trust someone who said 'Trust me...'? Probably not. -
Who ever gives me a good honest arguement with good empirical or logical support
Who they are doesn’t matter so long as it makes sense. -
Only person I believe in is God. not even my wife
