Who else uses facebook?

I recently started using facebook as a way to make new friends and business contacts.

My friend told me to join FB to announce each time I posted on my blog. I found lots of friends from high school, middle school, and elementary school there. Past jobs, too! So I do a little business and a little socializing. Thanks to Ophase here on BC, I am now addicted to FB's vampire game. I like the IM feature b/c I have several long time friends that live thousands of miles away. It's nice to say HI and have a little 1 minute conversation.
I do know of people who are strictly business on FB.-
The vampire game! I did that for quite awhile sadly haha. I haven't poked it in forever but it was strangely fun when I had.
Anyhoo, I'm on facebook. I did prefer it in it's beginning stages as a find your old class people network, but I still like it now. I usually check it once a day to see if there's any interesting gossip and not for much else lol.

Yup, I use facebook but not for blog marketing, more on like for keeping in touch with my old friends who are now all over the world.
But of course, since the opportunity is already there, I also use it for the marketing of my blog.

who doesn't use FB these days? but i don't have my blog URL posted on my profile so i definitely don't get traffic from it...just use it to keep in touch w/college friends-
Me. I friggin' hate it.
There are just SO many features on this site, in between the wall, the IMs, the PMs, and all of the other "Ms", and the nudging and the invites, and the groups, etc, just looking at it makes me nauseous.
Plus, I don't like the idea of the possiblity for ghosts from my old life to come and haunt in my new, and strangely similar life.
But seriously, I just find FS's interface to be severely unappealing. I have an account, but I hardly ever use it. I just don't like it.

Well, IMHO .. facebook kills bloggers. Too many friends hanging out, neither of them visit my blogs anymore ...

I actually do not use facebook for marketing my blog -
I use Facebook, and a WordPress plugin which posts a note on FB every time I publish a new post on my blog.
Nothing spectacular but every bit helps. -

i just make my FB but totally to experiment how much my blog reader would access it. So i won't let my friends know that address.

As far as how I use FB, my only "friends" are people that I socialize with. I have a few BC friends there but they are the people I happen to interact with quite often here and our personalities get along well. On FB I expect comments, teasing, conversations and having fun. Yes, I throw in a post link now and then but it's a small percentage of my activity there. I did have a friend on FB ask me about a post so, hey, if it gets me a visit or follower then hip, hip, hurray!

I'd originally joined Facebook when I suddenly got a friend request from someone whose email address book I was in, but I didn't actually use it for more than a year. Then, when I began blogging, I actually filled out my profile and starting building the friend list. But the promotion part of it quickly fell by the wayside--though I do get a decent amount of traffic and blog and website followers from there--and instead it's become a way for me to keep up with friends who now live all over the globe. I never imagined I'd hook up with childhood friends too, and some of them have become better friends now than 20 years ago. Some--many--of those applications drive me nuts, and I can't figure out how to turn some of them off, but I just try to ignore that stuff. If someone's interested, I can be found by searching for Deb Lauman in Flagstaff, Arizona, but my status updates aren't earth-shattering. Just an occasional update about Search & Rescue happenings or some lame comment about my husband or dog. -

I do promote my blog on facebook via networkedblogs but the whole thing is beginning to get on my nerves. It seems like everyone seems to have a happier, more successful life than me and they just have to show it off through putting up hundreds of photos and updating their status with things like "going to hawaii for a month next week" "just got a £10,000 pay rise" "such and such is now engaged".
It's depressing.-

Every blog I write, I also post the link to Facebook. Some friends read my blog via that link. I figure it can't hurt to have another link out there for my blog.
I'm not too active on Facebook though. Find I don't have enough time to take part in all the things on there. And, I like spending in-person-time with my friends. -
I really love Facebook but never wanted to market on there. I'm thinking that Facebook should either be set up strictly for socializing or just for marketing. Not for both, otherwise your friends either get pissed off or confused as to what you're doing.

I only use facebook to keep in touch with friends and talk to my fellow investors about stocks. Myspace is just to keep in touch with friends and stuff too. Facebook I make more friends though just because I belong to stock groups where myspace it is mostly people that I really know that send me friend requests. Also use myspace to be myself not promote. -
I'd never considered using it for marketing; for me it's mostly to keep in touch with old friends, keep track of birthdays, and play Restaurant City =D.

Who else uses Facebook? Me and at this writing about 90,000,000 other people. I post a blog entry alert everytime I write an new entry. Great way to get blog visitors. -
I use face book a lot.. almost the whole day, and love interacting. Of course am looking out for more and more people to interact with and be friends with!! everyone is welcome to visit me and add me as their friend :-)

Did you know we now can edit our messy facebook profile URL like facebook.com/profile.php?id=567xxxxx to be as simply as facebook.com/your_username? Just login to your account and then go to www.facebook.com/username to check your username availability.

I use facebook and get a decent amount of traffic to my blog from it. Am on the networked blog app but get most traffic from friends who click to the links I post when I write a new entry. -

Keeping up with blogs, websites, youtube etc is starting to take up a huge amount of my time, but it's sooo addictive and I love meeting people from other countries -

I only use facebook for personal contacts but I do use myspace and twitter which are great tool. I find myspace easier because you can search easier. you can visit mine for ideas if you like, I will check your links for ideas as well...here are my links these links:

I think facebook can be used for business, but I use it for family and friends, they are opening up user names for people who have accounts, word is it will be a huge marketing tool. For example if your user name is marykay@facebook.com or some such, worth looking into.

My blog still gets a little traffic from Facebook despite being banned several months back for not using the name given to me on my birth certificate. Something about being deceptive. Jeez! I ranted at least a few posts about how I hate them, but have moved on. -

I have found long lost relatives in Face Book. It is an excellent place for social net working. I have joined several groups with only one goal or purpose or that is we have several interests in common, as coming from the same province in the Philippines or have the same last names. I love Face Book and Twitter also. Although I have my blog sites listed on my profile, I really do not know how many Face Book users look at them. So as a marketing tool, I do not know how useful Face Book is? Do you really open the websites listed by Face Book users? I seldom do! -
I used to have a personal FB account, but it was a pointless, non-secure effort, so I had them delete it. I recently opened a biz account that no one bothers with now (it really just points to my blogs & lists upcoming art shows, etc.) The name is "Eye Candy; The Art and Photography of Lana Gramlich" if you're interested. -
I use FB for communicate with my old & new friends, But I can't share my blog to my friend-
I know it's too personal at times which we don't to mix it up!
