Topics: blog, poetry
After drinking a few beers, I was sitting here and wondering to myself: Who hasn't visited my blog? If you are one of those people... Now would probably be a good time to do so. Just an opinion I thought I should share with the BC community.

Nice work! Lots of heart and soul in the words and the images. Atmospheric. I'll be back for more. I LOVE that Pinero quote in your header.

Holly, I'm a writer. For decades before there were blogs, when paragraphs or whole essays appeared in my head, I wrote them down and tossed them into my desk drawer. My blogs are more or less my virtual desk drawer. Although I'm well versed in online marketing, search engine optimization and social media promotion and use those things regularly in my work, I don't apply any of them with regard to my personal blogs because (with the exception of the occasional post that for some reason or another I feel addresses an important topic), I just don't care whether or not anyone reads them. I write them because I have to write and it's just as easy to post as it is to create a Word doc.

Honestly, TCM, I very rarely check my comments. Sometimes I find comments that I would have responded to had I noticed them, but I don't see them for weeks or even months after they're posted. I'm the same way in my professional writing. I've been making my living as a writer on and off for more than twenty years, and once I've finished writing a piece, I'm over it. There are very rare exceptions, but for the most part I don't look back at all. In fact, one of the reasons that I started throwing things onto blogs that five years ago I would have shopped around and sold is that I just don't have the patience to market something once it's written--when I'm done writing something my mind is on the next piece.

I actually looked at it earlier today and read some of the poems. At least those written in English. Nice work! I love a good poem and you composed some beautiful verses. Thanks for sharing this blog.
