Fellow bloggers, I do not know about you, but I am sick of this election season. The presidential race has been going on for what now, a hear and a half? The house and senate are both up for reelection now and I am sick of turning on the news and hearing all about politics, seeing all the ads on every network (Obama's ads are really getting on my nerves because I see them so much), and so forth. I was wondering if other people are just as sick of this election season as I am.

I am not AS sick of the process as I am of the tone. I knew that America had issues with "others", but to use it as a campaign strategy, to use scaremongering with those who are not doing due diligence, and to foster racism is tiresome.

Good point to bring up, hang in there ~ 11 days to go!!!

I am! This election doesn't matter anymore.

Will we continue the course of fascism, or swing communist? What a choice! We are doomed!

I couldn't of said it better....

By the way, Can this really be called an election season when it's been going on strong for two years already? So much time, money and effort wasted on saying how much is gonna be done when all that could of gone to helping people. I mean think of it, It took men to build up those stages right? Why not have them build something worthwhile like a community center?

I totally agree with everyone...I almost don't even care who wins anymore, can we please just talk about something else! jeez, I can't even remember what the news focused on before the election started two years ago. And doesn't it seem like it gets a little worse and worse each election season, like they start covering a little more in advance each time. At this rate, they will start covering the 2012 election in August of 2009!

The Virginia Tech Shooting? Wasn't that a little before all this election stuff coverage started?

yes. the damage has been done on both sides. But this is what we have... 2 weeks, and i guess we should be thankful for it.

It would be nice if both candidates were not allowed to campaign or advertise for a few days before the election... just give people time to seriously meditate on what they've seen and heard without more BS being spouted up until the very last minute.

If you're in a state with early voting than go vote. Then you can just turn off anything that gets on your nerves and not feel bad about it.

I have never seen an election season last this long. We used to not see people announcing their candidacy till the year before the election. This one has been going on since the last presidential contest, unabated.

Can anyone blame us for being weary and sick of all the propoganda and political rifraf?

I shall be very glad to cast my precious vote on November 4, 2008! Although much is at stake, this lengthy election has drawn in many new people to be registered, while also getting the American people involved in this process. I have never seen this much participation before, in any previous election.

Our right to vote is the one of the only ways we can dictate our governmental future. Please, I urge everyone to take this seriously and cast your vote so you, too, can make a change. Make a difference. Be a part of history.

P.S. I will breathe a sigh of relief when this is over.

Oh, hell yeah - can't wait until it's over. I agree with Houseonahill: the tone has just been ugly - not just from the candidates but from the supporters as well. I'm not impressed with either candidate. Truth is, they both can promise us the moon and stars, but whoever is elected, without backing of Congress, they're not going to get very far.

I am just scared of the fact that if McCain loses, then someone is going to give sarah Palin a one hour time slot for another useless talk show.
    1. Friday13
Well, hey. If it happens, it'll likely be on Fox News (right after Huckabee, perhaps?), so it won't be difficult to avoid.
    2. pointlessbanter
She and Elizabeth Hasselbeck can host it.... It will be great until the one day that Palin's rifle goes off while demonstrating how to use a scope and kills Hasselbeck....

You know what maybe it isn't a bad idea.

I will be glad to see it end. I am tired to hearing both sides of the same story. It is the exact same issues, answers, and bs every 4 years.

You know, it was interesting for a while. Up to the point at the RNC when Palin gave her speech and hinted at the tone that the campaigns would take. In all likelyhood Obama will win. This means that we won't be done with politics for a while as his every move will be scrutinized, so brace yourselves for more.

I live in the UK and we see endless news reports about it. It wouldn't be so bad but I can't even vote on it!

The news over hear is very biased to Obama so I guess that means that you folk will vote in the ex POW
  15. papshmir
"In all likelyhood Obama will win" ... We must wait, mrwolf ... If you remember, in 2000 Al Gore was 8% ahead George W. Bush ... but Bush won !!!
  16. mikeny07
Same here! I wish this was over.

I still will stand with my prediction that McCain will win though. I don't think America wants socialism. And I think when people vote at the polls, their gut will tell them to vote for McCain.

I will be glad when it's over.. I am tired of the bashing and the craziness of the things I read on both sides.

But every U. S. Presidential election, I get to the point where I have had enough! And I have been at the point for a few weeks now...
    1. Friday13
Yeah, I can't wait till it's over. I'm tired of hearing the candidates' names over and over and over again.

I AM SICK OF THE MEDIA! I'M SICK OF THE MEDIA MAKING A FOOL OF SARA PALIN. AS A WOMAN I RESENT JOHN MCCAIN FOR CHOOSING A WOMAN WHO LACKS THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE TO ANSWER SIMPLE POLITICAL QUESTIONS. MCCAINS HAS NO RESPECT FOR AMERICAN WOMEN! HE BET AMERICA'S FUTURE(SHOULD HE DIE)ON A FEMALE BAFOON TO GET VOTES. MCCAIN OBVIOUSLY THINKS VERY LOW OF AMERICAN WOMEN TO CONCEIVE WE WOULD VOTE FOR ANYTHING FEMALE TO GET A WOMAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE. I'M INSULTED! - WWW.SEXWOMANCEO.BLOGSPOT.COM

I'M SICK OF McCain saying... my friends, my friends, my friends, my friends and nothing to help remedy the American economy. I'm also sick of the media coverage of Sara Palin making a fool of her self every time she opens her mouth.
