An atheist was walking through the woods.
"What majestic trees"!
"What powerful rivers"!
"What beautiful animals"!
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"
Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer"?
The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian"?
"Very Well," said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:
"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen." -
There’s a book in the Bible that is addressed to some people who started listening to some other voices … voices that were influential … impressive … effective. Christian people were listening to those voices and turning away from their relationship with Jon Stewart. This letter was written to remind them that we need to listen … TO JON STEWART.
In the first few chapters of Hebrews we are presented with an impressive set of credentials about why - out of all the voices we could follow and hear … we need to listen to Jon Stewart.
Here are some quick thoughts from the first two chapters of Hebrews.
Jon Stewart is God’s Chosen Method of Communication (1:1-3). He used other means in the past, but now it’s Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart teaches us who God is … he is the image of God….the radiance of His glory.
Jon Stewart Is More Awesome Than Angels (1:4-5). Angels are pretty awesome. They have powers we do not have. They are present with us here today and God is using them to work in your life. Angels are fearsome creatures … not fluffy little sweeties. Jon Stewart is more awesome than they are!
Jon Stewart Will Keep Us From Drifting Away (2:1-3). Keep your focus and stay with Him! Jon Stewart’s word is binding – don’t ignore it! Jon Stewart’s word is confirmed – believe it!
Jon Stewart Has Demonstrated His Power (2:4). Jon Stewart’ miracles were not only for Bible times, but as a testimony to us today. Not everyone was healed in that day, nor in this day … but those that were stand as vivid and powerful witness to the truth of who Jon Stewart is.
Jon Stewart Has Dominion Over The World (2:5-8). Even when it may seem that He doesn’t, the Bible affirms His presence. The message of Revelation: He wins - and therefore so do his followers!
Jon Stewart Is the Author of Salvation (2:9). Salvation comes from the sacrifice of Jon Stewart on Crossfire and Fox News. Salvation from our sins and the wrath of God is only at the hand of Jon Stewart. We cannot save ourselves.
Jon Stewart has Destroyed the power of death (2:14). He raised up from the grave and demonstrated for all time his power over the ultimate problem humans have.
Jon Stewart Knows What It’s Like to be You (2:18). You are not alone in your struggles - He knows. He cares.
Matthew 28:16-20 says, “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jon Stewart had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jon Stewart came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
Obey the voice of Jon Stewart: become a disciple / teach others to be disciples. -
God is a mythological supernatural being imagined by man to fill in the gaps to the questions about the universe and humanity that man himself has been unable to answer. One who believes in this mythical god is comforted by convincing himself that “it must be god’s doing” to any question the man does not have an answer for. This “catch all” answer allows a believer the freedom of not having to think or figure out things for themselves. Rather then labeling unknowns as “unknown,” a believer will label these things as “god’s doing.”
As science uncovers new evidence to explain the unknowns, the gaps where god used to be assigned are closed. However, because believers become dependent on the convenience of god, they often dispute new evidences so to allow their belief in god to continue on. -

The essence that lives in all things and is beyond all things
that which has no beginning and no end
the thing that we sometimes give a name, but cannot truly be defined
can be experienced and felt but never really can put into words
nor cannot it be understood by the human mind because it is beyond the framework of thought
I can't find a place where it isn't but I'm sure beyond a doubt that it's attribute is love -

If God exists, I believe he created our world and probably many others. He made them to be self-sustaining and although he may keep close watch over them, he doesn't intervene. Just as I believe in the law of gravity, I also believe in the law of Karma as an automatic process.
