Are you using yahoo answers? if you're here at BC's general discussions, then i can assume that you obviously love asking and answering questions. i "was" at YA. but i was simply being accused of violations which i never did. YA is teemed a lot by teenagers. Some fetch points easily by "idk" or i don't know answers. sometimes i used to lose points unnecessarily. so i said au revoir to YA and now it's fun at BC.

When I first started blogging, I used YA as a way to promote the topics I was writing about. But, I found at times that a good answer wasn't weighted as much as a fast answer.
I had the most success with some of the less commonly used boards, where people were hoping for real advice, not just trying to engage in intellectual mortal kombat (like on YA politics boards). -
I've used it once in a while. I tend to stay away from it when it comes to questions like "What's your favourite team," or "did you know this?"
But it's good for researching topics, and if you keep them more serious (such as help for fixing a dishwasher, or looking for more information on kidney stones), the teens stay away. :-) -
I use it. A couple of times a week I'll log in and look for any questions related to young kids and glasses, or serious questions about infertility, and I'll answer them. I get quite a bit of traffic to my Little four eyes blog from there, since I can link to specific pages with information and resources.
I used to get annoyed when I'd leave a long detailed answer and someone else would get the Best Answer rating, but then I realized that I don't actually care about the points because I'm never going to be a top contributor, and it's not like I'm going to use them for anything. -
Yahoo answers is the absolute worst, used it for one day and that is it. Someone posted a question "If I go to CVS without anyone noticing and pick up an item off the shelf, then take it to the counter and say I lost my receipt, will they give me store credit?" So I reported the post and posted a reply "how stupid to ask an illegal question like that". Later I start getting emails about my answers being reported, and another email later saying "I reported you back". I go back the next day, and my account is suspended, I won't even think about going back

I find Yahoo! Answers to be an endless pit of stupidity. Which is great for me as if I get stuck for a subject to write on, I can always turn to Yahoo! Answers and ridicule the idiots on there. Craigslist is another great source of fail as well. I love them both.
