hehe love your honesty guys
But really if we add another twist in the topic.
If you are not making money from your blog, what do you think is the reason and if you aren't selling anything then what do you think is the perfect product that your readers would love to buy from you considering that they trust you so much

What is your question? There are some many forms of online earning, which one do you talk about?
All right, let's pretend this way. You've used a hosting for a long time, and you feel this hosting service is very good.
Your blog is focusing on managing site, creating blog, creating website or something connected or eventually will connect to hosting service.
Will you recommend it? Of course you do, will you join the affiliate program and use the affiliate link to redirect it? There is nothing wrong with that as long you give a honest review.
Have you ever purchased something because your friend recommend it to you? Or at least, will you try? -
wel I actually placed a couple of google ads but I am sure I wont see any money until pink pigs learn to fly

Because I'm happy enough to write
I have very little traffic, but the people who do read are loyal readers and love the content ... so I thought I'd increase traffic and toss some ads up there. That's my next plan ... increase traffic. I was hoping word of mouth would do ... it started to, then I had a baby, moved, etc. and stopped blogging for a few weeks. So, I'm trying to get things going again. -
The largest blogging niche of all is the "make money blogging" niche. It's the most competitive one too and the vast and overwhelming flow of traffic is to the A and B list "make money" bloggers. We have over 80,000 bloggers registered here and a Directory search for "blog for money" turns up over 46,000 results. I don't blog for money and I have no advertising on my blogs. My feedback is that many of the make money blogs I visit are simply re-blogging what the A and B list bloggers have already blogged. I think that's a very strong indication that if you are in that niche, and you aren't making money that it's time to select another niche.

Heh, funny that you create such a thread after I post a review about Google Ad's on my website. Irregardless . . .
People aren't creative anymore nor are they innovative. There are thousands upon thousands of blogs talking about the same thing. To make matters worse, there is a fascination with plastering Google Ads in hopes of making a couple thousand per month. Ain't happening buddy. So to answer your question, people aren't making money off their blogs because EVERYONE is doing the same thing. When a market gets overcrowded, nobody is profiting from it. Now we gotta sit through hundreds of ugly looking blogs talking about the same thing, stuck on trying to be the next best thing in the online world since BlogCatalog.com
Time to think outside the box.

Review Guy,
I would agree, too many blogs on the same topics, too many ugly blogs, too many lazy bloggers who stop writing after a month. When I started my blog, I tried to pick a topic that wasn't really being done, or at least not in the same way. I have found a few blogs on overlapping topics, but nothing else in the specific niche that I am in. I am getting pretty decent traffic for a new blog, but at the moment I am not getting the repeat visits, and of course the click revenue isn't there. So still working to add more volume, add content, finish graphics, register for directories and such.

I'm not making money from my blog because I haven't gotten my act together yet. Simple as that.
There's a lot of info out there about how to make money and increase traffic to my blog, but I find sifting through it will take more time than I have. I hold down a job and do my strip on the side. I might soon have to give up sleep if I want to make this a success (or try to).
What would I sell? I dunno. Is there a market for Trotters merchandise when there's not many folks visiting the site yet (something which is purely my fault and no one else's)? -
CheatorBeat,
I checked out your website and I would agree that you have a unique blog on your hands. In due time, you will get the monetary rewards and the clicks. One suggestion I could offer you is if you wish to take your blog to the next echelon - look into finding out about scandals (be it rumors/or confirmed stories) BEFORE the general public knows about it and is written by several reporters. That way you can be the Perez Hilton of the doping world and get those hits.
Okay, bad example, but you get my point. Best of luck. -
I have one blog that literally just sits there. It's ratings and rank is good, it's traffic flow is steady. So I think I simply picked the wrong niche for any sort of really aggressive marketing and selling. It focuses on saving money - I know, sort of a contradiction there - so I think I put my potential customers out of the mood to buy with my "conserve, cut back, save" content.

Just started trying to use www.painrelief101.com for making money. $300 in product sales and $60 in advertising fees this month.

Very nice guys.. so in other words if we say that most of you who are not making money either:-
- aren't in it for the money
- aren't doing enough marketing
- aren't sure what to write about
- are in a niche that's covered by 99% bloggers already
- are writing about something they don't like but write cuz its money in it
- are changing their "niche" again and again like the weather
hmmm and many more reasons.. but I guess whatever you write about one thing is for sure.. there is NO one who can write like you, so add your personality in it and I am sure one day or the other the traffic will soar.. -
I've made money from my blog sites but I feel I should add my 2cents here - the reason why folks who are trying to make money but are not is lack of action. Lack of Dedication and lack of consistency - if you work hard at it - in no time you will make money......you just have to be patient and wait for it.......
I would say the major factor is lack of an action plan and direction....too much information and too many things to get excited about that actually side track the guys trying to make the money. -
the biggest reason people aren't making money on their own blog is they spend all their time worrying how much money other people are making on theirs. Any of mine can make anywhere from $0.00 to $100.00 daily the thing no one really wants to do is ask me how specifically or when they do they waste my time.

Money everyone wants. Those bloggers who hate ads does not in any way mean that they dont love dollars. Come on you will have to agree that nothing is free. The one thing that was free to some extent is being vigorously marketed that is advice. It is the age of ads and you will have to accomodate this in your life. You click or not that is immaterial but you will not hate it. Those who say that they dont serve ads are showing double standard. By being in all search engines in blog catalog or any other sites they are giving their ads. Of course that is free but is a brother of ads. I buy various kinds of books online and if someone gives an ad on an indian publisher selling a good book i would click and buy.
As far as not making money is concerned that is a different thing. The contents may be commonplace. The manner of presentation may not be right. The keywords may be incorrect. A nascent blog with not many pages indexed in search engines. There are a lot of causes. The organic traffic comes read and click. Those readers only reads and never click. So side by side mind the density of your keywords in articles. Keep a moderate level. Dont stuff or dont sparse. Write on an unique subject and make available some new key words.
Thanks coming back soon. -

Well, to be honest, I'm not so much worried about money as I am about bringing traffic in and a steady reader base to my blog(s). If I make a few bucks of the deal, fine.
But like others have said, it's becoming a overcrowded 'niche'(oxymoron, anyone?) market where everyone and their mamas can throw up some content and say that they're blogging.
And original content can only go so far. With the web, sooner or later, it ends up being recycled by someone else.
Let me stop here before I end up on a soapbox... -
I found out about earning money online only few weeks ago. I'm still in the process of learning. And then I came to idea about writing everything I learn on my blog in form of articles with a few ads around. Now I'll try to play around with SEO and stuff. Kinda good way of practicing I'd say...
Now to get on topic. I think I'm not earning enough from my blog because I'm still not good at managing my blog; uploading pictures adding links and things like that. Mainly because I'm busy doing other "real life" things. And no, I wouldn't click on ads on my blog.

The most common ways touted for accomplishing this are Google Adwords, Affiliate Marketing, Google Adsense, Forex Trading Robots, Surveys and Product Reviews, Article Marketing and selling on ebay.
That being said, I don’t think there is a single best way to make money by blogging. I think the nature of the blog, the niche it’s in, and the quality of the contents are all factors that go into selecting the combination of advertising and affiliate plans that may be workable for any given blog.
Twenty income streams for bloggers
onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2009/03/17/making-money-online-during-a-recession...
IMHO the truth is that there is no quick and easy way to make money online. Making money online or offline involves hard work. And very few bloggers have the degree of expertise required to produce content that brings in the massive number of hits on advertisements that are required to make a living from blogging. Moreover, the economic realities we now face mean that making an income from blogging is bound to become increasingly more difficult.
In the economic times in which we live easy credit is no longer available, so I think it’s reasonable to assume that some companies may trim or even severely cut back on their advertising budgets, and we can expect the number of people clicking on ads will decrease.
IMHO you will never make a significant income from blogging if you lack expertise in a specific niche and you do NOT know how to:
* be a skillful blogger;
* create an archive full of quality content;
* structure a search engine optimized blog;
* promote your blog via social networks and other means;
* establish and maintain a faithful and growing readership (organic traffic).
Even if you have mastered the foregoing the competition is fierce. And I have noticed that the blogsophere is now full to overflowing with no quality and low quality blogs that contain only rehashed and/or plagarized and/or even stolen content.-
@m4sterix
IMHO your focus should be on structuring your blog and the posts in it so that it is both reader and search engine friendly. Doing that is key to increasing traffic to your blog and once you have that traffic then you may be able to secure some income. I think this post will help you achieve your aim.
