Why can't Obama produce the vault copy of his birth certificate?

The Berg Vs Obama court case questioning Obama's eligibility to the highest position in the land(the U.S.) is being stonewalled by Obama's lawyers. Why can't he simply produce the vault copy of his birth certificate? Afraid the truth will come out?

This is an issue of utmost importance to the U.S. electorate yet it is being downplayed by the media. Perhaps because the proponent who initiated the court case have questionable motives. But as of the latest update, two other groups of lawyers of impeccable reputation has joined in and became parties to the case. What is your stand on this?

I don't have mine either, Drowsey. The only one my parents had was from the hospital, which was not valid for my passport. It's perfectly normal to request a copy from authorities. And it's completely abnormal to start threads like this one. Or should that be subnormal?

Okay, I'm not POSITIVE, but I think it's because he was never actually born, but was cloned by Muslim terrorists acting outside the United States in an effort to create a perfect fake American that they could one day advance as a candidate for the Presidency as part of a concerted effort to impose Sharia law on the whole world. This is silly. Here is the deal. This is why Obama has my vote during the debates he mentioned education and volunteerism in one sentence, McCain danced around it like it didn't exist. He also mentioned how health care is a right, McCain did not. McCain's ad campaign is mostly one about negativity. The birth certificate thing has been debunked get over it! Geez!

Interesting question...I wish to know that myself.. but let's get the history of the issue...it was first brought up by the clinton camp prior to the Democratic National Convention...then as now...the issue was regarded a smear and no one took it seriously..until that guy Berg... questioned it in court but the news was eclipsed by the financial bail out package. Now, more people..lawyer groups wants an answer and became parties to the case...a simple issue that requires a simple answer..the vault copy...the McCain camp maybe not on this because they are probably afraid that if Obama is able to produce one the issue will smack right in their faces...the last nail in their presidential campaign coffin...ha ha ha! My questioning it...hey, we need to know the answer before Obama wins...which by all accounts is likely...and after that a bigger problem...a constitutional crisis if it turns out the bc was faked.

What was presented and circulated in the net was not the vault copy. It was the short form... the one you usually get when you request for one. The vault copy is the long form and contains all the details of birth including the attending physician and the hospital where you were born... all containing collaborating circumstances that are verifiable. And like you said, everyone has a vault copy in the registry of the state where you come from...unless the one presented in the net by the
dems was fabricated! -

It is the birth certificate that was filed with the Bureau of Vital Statistics (or whatever the appropriate division is in that jurisdiction) when you were born. Most birth records are computerized now, and if you request a certified copy of your birth certificate you do not get a copy of the actual certificate of live birth originally filed, but a computer-generated version that has been certified accurate by the appropriate government official.

Here's the two latest pieces of news I've seen: McCain now trying to tie Michelle Obama to Ayers, and Obama opens up a two digit lead. Clearly, the uglier the McCain campaign gets, the higher Obama rises in the polls and the lower McCain sinks.
So, all I can say to the Republican smear-mongers is KEEP IT UP!-
dude, I am not a Republican, just an ordinary citizen like you... who can see that personal biases and party affiliations (let me include the hardships and travails suffered under 8 years of Bush follies)...can not look at this issue other than a smear.

But instead the McCain smear practitioners have distracted the voters away form the real issues and why is obvious to see. The Republicans have sweet muck all to run on or with. The Bush administration ran America into the ground and all the loudmouthed dull wits have to offer is this kind of tripe that has been debunked ages ago.
Yet Republicans seem to quietly agree that Bush was a "good old boy" despite his outrageous death causing lies, exaggerations, manipulations, abuse of power, and the fact that he is, in essence, a war criminal. That's not to mention his many other failures in office that have had a profoundly negative effect on his country, its economy, its citizens, and the country's image around the world. -

Obama's mother is an American citizen. That is ALL that is required. It doesn't matter where on the earth he was born, if his mother was a US citizen at the time he was born, he is a natural-born citizen.
End of story.-
Correct, but only if a "Certificate of Live Birth Abroad" was filed. That is...if he had been born in another country.

Actually, Mark, there is even "wriggle room" regarding that requirement. Many US servicemen fathered children on Vietnamese women and many years later acknowledged paternity, which conferred US citizenship upon them. I remember reading a particularly poignant story of a boy whose mother died and his search for his American father ended up with that acknowledgment and his subsequent arrival in the US to live with his father. The boy was in his early teens, if I remember correctly. Certainly no "Certificate of Live Birth Abroad" had been filed at the time of that boy's birth!
But, of course, that does not apply to Obama...he was born on US soil to a mother who was a US citizen, which makes him a natural born citizen no matter how you look at it. This "vault copy" flap is just a lot of nonsense unless those swirling around it have some evidence that he might have been born elsewhere...and then the fact of his mother's citizenship kicks in.
