Why did you choose, blogger or wordpress, etcetera to host your blog ?, why are they most suitable in your opinion?.

Personally i chose in ignorance of the other choices, but i am quite happy with blogger..

    first thing... It is free.

2nd is I love wordpress but it seems to be too complex and looks like there is less flexibility.

And so I decided to stick with Blogger/blogspot.
Blogger is excellent. but i love wordpress themes

April 2007, I signed up with blogtoolkit dot com at $35.00 per month for the web hosting. Since I did not know any better, I did this for four months. It was not user friendly and I must confess that I was not very adept at this whole blogging function. I simply wanted to write and have my Virtual Cafe`. They suggested as a blogger that I might want to list the URL with search engines, which always made me think of automotives, but in doing so I also found this wonderful place ... BlogCatalog.

A month after I began posting I started receiving daily doses of overseas SPAM. Now that has always reminded me of canned meat and after taking about an hour each day of deleting said unwanted data, I found here in the Discussions talk about Blogger and Wordpress. By this time, I was almost driven to distraction about the SPAM and decided to learn about transferring my posts and meta and pings and RSS and widgets and adding photos. I was in overload heaven!

By hanging out in this area, I was introduced to so many talented writers and artists. The information I craved was gladly shared and I was embraced by this wonderful social community. I love the personalities and what they offer me; a glimpse into their worlds ... sharing has never been so personal.

I did have a blogspot account but having heard that sometimes your material can suddenly vanish, I decided to go wordpress for both of my web logs. You know, I still have lots to learn and when I have a question I can rest assured that someone here will hold my hand and get me through the ropes. The administrators are always helpful. They are the best of the best.

Hope this is helpful. I am awake, today is November 4th and I am very excited ... just like early morning Christmas day excited!

I started out on Blogspot, but after a couple of months, I guess I just outgrew it.

I needed more creativity space, so I went and got my own domain and built Arcticulates from scratch. With help from the awesome administration here, I finally got it up and running and accepted here on BC.

I am still working on it, making changes as I learn how to do them. I have learned so much just by following the directions left on these discussions from the many experts that share, and gave myself a crash course on html, css, and java script.

Which I am still trying to untangle in my brain. But I am having so much fun!

I didn't choose wordpress or blogger instead i choosed the product of my own country www.bloggum.com
It has more advantages than other ones. For example posts are indexed faster by google. You can change the whole page design free...etc.

wastedlola I would highly recomment www.webhostingtalk.com

Theyve got a full list of host reviews and recommendations. When I chose my webhost, I made sure that their existing clients did not have any problems. So I contacted them asking for any.

I also looked for service longetivity. i.e. I didnt want to go with a host who would give up their service after a year or so

    Just my .2 cents
