Why did you start your blog ?

What was your reason for starting the blog ? My reasons may well be selfish and just thought if I was the only one like that or if others were similar. I have been on the internet for around 5 years now. Having been to message boards had my fallings out and rants, but made friends in equal measures to enemies..
First I went and got a proboard which is a template for a message board but after a year discovered it was great to have the power of admin and you cant be banned from your own board,,, but at times it was like being a teacher in a class of unruley children and so i gave that up.
And I had a break and then came to the blog world and I have found it great but selfish... I see it like this .. primarily all my posts are top... and you make money from adverts... Is this somewhat of a selfish attitude or have others gone down this path..

I blog when people around me stop blogging. Don't ask me why but i started blogging mainly for additional source of income. Then, i began to get addicted to posting daily. Now, it helps me to relieve stress from work. So, why not?

No one else was blogging about teaching kids in Japan.

Oh, man, I have no idea. I started my first blog, Rockstories, about five years ago, because I had a website at the time and one of the big SEO "tips" back then was to start a blog on a free host as a source of inbound outside links.
I started my Catholic blog because I was writing many of the things that now appear on it in notebooks and it seemed to make sense to do something else with them.
I honestly have no recollection of why I started my dog blog, especially since the header description actually says "I'm not a dog lover"
I started What's Wrong Around Us? as an experiment, to try out something I wanted to use at work but my employers were skeptical about (it worked)
I started SEQP just because I was so entertained by my search traffic that I wanted to share.
And I started Tiffany Talks so that I'd stop posting personal crap on RockStories, which was supposed to be a writing blog. -
There were not many good sources of information about the complex process of Applying to US Universities, specially for non US persons. So I started my blog www.app2us.com/blog/

I started because I love to write, and writing about the things I really enjoy is even better.
I find myself composing blog posts in my head when I am away from the computer and I can't wait to sit down at the relevant blog and get it down. Question is, how many blogs can you successfully run at the same time? I have three (although one is for work) with another work one planned in the next few weeks and at least 5 other ideas for personal blogs.
Must stop...! -

I started Singletude to reach out to the new single majority in the U.S. and provide an alternative to more of the same claptrap directed at singles, which usually amounts to "how to catch a girl/guy." While many singles are looking, we have more going on in our lives than just dating, and I wanted to start a blog that would reflect that.

I started mine to fill a void. Nobody was writing about con artists. And, like fleas on a plagued dog, they are all around us, robbing us blind, every hour of every day. I've felt that everybody should know, be aware, be in a position to protect themselves: their identities, incomes, assets, estates, inheritances.

I started mine because I want to promote Wordpress themes and hopefully the people who use my themes will drive more traffic to my sites at www.themespreview.com

I want to share my journal about business idea.
