Because I want too. It also is a good way for me to share our homeschooling ideas, troubles, and success with other homeschoolers. -
I'm a compulsive writer and having a blog is a good outlet.

I'm about in the same position. Blogging is a good outlet for the urge to write - and comments are a pretty good form of feedback. Some comments - that's a whole different topic.

Fills up time. Faraway family can see what I'm up to. It's fun! Plus now, I'm trying to get KISS to come to my little city. Wouldn't it be cool if they had to play in a cow pasture and Gene stepped in a cow patty(that's cow poop)?! LOL! So it's a place to help me get votes. Blogging is far out fun!-

To practice english....and to share some info about my hobby and a few of my works too.-
Blogs are an excellent way to practice a language. My cradle tongue is English - and I find that writing blogs helps me keep my skills fresh. I think that anything learned - language, watch repair, whatever - improves with practice, no matter how skilled a person is. And, deteriorates with lack of practice.

The real question is, why not? Everyone has something to say thus everyone should have a blog! Then again, maybe not. They might have something to say but it doesn't mean anyone would want to hear it! The reason I personally made a blog is to help those out looking for some free to do unique job opprotunities online to help rake them in at least a part-time income for not too much time invested.

Before, when I was working, it was for entertainment, usually my own. After I had my surgery and was put off work, it became something different, not just a time killer, but something to look forward too. I wish my life was half as interesting as most of the blogs I read. -

I'm a writer - and not entirely satisfied with the way America's traditional publishing system works. So, blogging is an excellent way of getting published.
I'd much rather have what I have to say out in the marketplace of ideas, than be trying to work with overworked editors: none of whom are neighbors, old school acquaintances, or members of the same organizations.
The blogosphere is, I think, more of a meritocracy: where what you write means as much (maybe more) than who you know.
Which brings up the idea of 'networking' - but this comment is too long already.
Bottom line - I love to write; I'm pretty good at it; and blogs are a place where I can concentrate on writing, rather than marketing. -
It began as a way for far away friends and fam to know what was going on in my nomadic life in NYC...but it grew into more than that. -
I love snowboarding and I need new people to share it with. Some of my friends who don't ride, don't want to hear me anymore. -
I write because I want to keep a record of what's happening in my life. Over the long term, I hope my blog will reveal to me the overall direction I've been pursuing. Already, blogging had helped me discover more of what's most important to me, something I've never realized before keeping my blog. -
I blog to help webmasters, both novice and professional, get information and help them get backlinks to improve their rankings.

Because I would like people to know Thailand and Thai people better. Not through "commercial" websites but through people who actually live there and like the country and the people. And well, I do not need the money, so it is advertisement free, which makes the site more readable, I think...

Interesting discussion....
I blog in order to expose people to what I consider to be the truth and to educate them about the subjects I write about. Speaking of truth, there are many people out there who either tend to intentionally or unintentionally deceive people so I feel it's my duty to point out their errors. -
I blog hopping to discover some great secret about existence. I don’t know any such secrets myself, but by blogging maybe I’ll discover such a secret somewhere “out there”. There are over one hundred million blogs…somebody somewhere must know something grand!-

I blog because I found something that 99,99% of the world does not know about, and yet it is the most advanced and successful concept regarding our basic questions of why we are here, where we come from and what we are doing here. It is called A Course In Miracles. Applying its lessons is truly salvation and leads to peace of mind that can't be disturbed. -
So that my online friends (the ones that moved away or met during my life) can keep in touch with me and it's a good way to express my feelings without keeping angry. -
I do blogging to inspire women to live only in love, beauty and happiness! -

To have an outlet - through writing.. -
I'm getting my creative mojo going again. I want to blog every day for a few months, enjoy writing, feel good about what I produce, and get some positive feedback. That way, I'll be more confident about writing a book when the job axe falls.
I'm 20 days in and firing on all cylinders! -
I got bored of it, and Blogger can be a pain in the ass to use, but I've recently gotten back into it, and am enjoying it very much. It's great to collate all the news you've read about, and to get your opinions on things out there...even if, as in my case, it's generally just about films and stuff! -
