We all blog for many different reasons... What are your reasons? Knowing our WHY should give us more purpose when we blog =)

If we know your real reasons, I think we can all appreciate your blog(s) more. So, please feel free to share your reasons & your blog(s) here =)

I actually came up with a post about the same a couple of days back. Take a look. noodle-house.blogspot.com/2007/09/why-blog.html

    :o)

Though that is close to the truth, its not the complete truth. The complete truth is what I am still searching for.

I blog for a number of reasons. I'm not at all sure that this list will be in any sort of priority order.
    • I have definite views on a number of subjects, and want to air them. Another War-on-Terror Blog owes its existence to that.
    • Some subjects interest me, and I want to share what I've found. Apathetic Lemming of the North is my way of sharing what I find in, and think about, the blogosphere.
    • I've found the angst-riddled, self-absorbed, emotionally unstable, brilliant-but-misunderstood "artist" at once tiresome and amusing. And, I found traces of one deep in the access tunnels and equipment rooms of my mind - and so, Narcissus-X was loosed upon an unsuspecting world.
    • I enjoy grilling, so there's Easy Griller.
    • I'm starting a small business, and want to share that experience, and whatever I learn, so there's Starting a Small Business Without Losing My Mind.
    • I love my family, and where I live, and want to share that, so Through One Dad's Eye is in the blogosphere.
Also, I have been effectively unemployed since spring of 2006, so I'd like to make money by using my ability to write. The artistic purists could no doubt cast castigating glances upon such philistine desires, but I've got a family to feed.

I could probably come up with more, but this comment is (at least) long enough already.

Every time this question comes around, I realize anew that I have no idea...but for some reason, I always feel compelled to respond with the information that I have no response.

    Ha MadameX.

We blog because it is a form of expression that connects us with our interest, that was probably different to our last answer as MadameX pointed out...

Anyone feels that blogging gives him/her a sense of purpose? Or is it a form of escape or outlet or...???
  9. dharmagypsy7

I live to blog and I blog to live!
I love the process of blogging and am seriously addicted to it!
I like the other bloggers I meet and I love to read their blogs.

I blog because I hope that some day the girl of my dreams will google the words "the perfect guy" and end up at my site as a result. We'll subsequently fall in love, get married and have our honeymoon in Bora Bora.

Now if I can only get my blog to rank high for the keywords "perfect guy"...

I prefer the verb "write" as the verb "blog" makes me feel like I'm using media buzz-word language. With that said, I write because something (usually stupid) strikes a chord and compels me to do one of two things: act violently, or write about it.

Quite simply it's fun and a great way for me to express myself in writing. It's also a great platform to be creative and share.
