@siralmo - same as I get out of blogging I guess. Thinking out loud - reaching out - (carolinejaine) and spreading the word and inspiring others (imediate). This is not a commercial enterprise, if that's what you are thinking.

Just spotted a twit who is following 23,000 people. How is that possible? Another one who's profile revealed he was a Free Mason - surely that's not allowed? Are they "out" now?

Some Freemasons were always out, believe it or not. But it's interesting you would talk about "safe stalking" in Twitter. Are you serious? I just might become afraid of you, even if you are beautiful. -

Is the real ultimate goal of social media to get to the broadcast position?
Using social media and getting to a broadcast position in various networks allows the user to manufacturer their own authority as opposed to having that authority created by a deeper endorsement of their work be it links, subscribers, or sharing of content. Achieving the broadcast position and authority is now an achievable goal through various channels.

Done, I don't know how someone could follow that many people. I know people that have that many followers.-
What I gained from the article I linked to above was understanding. What's going on in all social networks these days is using numbers of followers or friends to create authority. Previously, "that authority created by a deeper endorsement of their work be it links, subscribers, or sharing of content."
