I will of course follow you all in return - but seriously, only follow me if you are interested...not just for reciprocals. I am all for tweeting with meaning.

Just spotted a twit who is following 23,000 people. How is that possible? Another one who's profile revealed he was a Free Mason - surely that's not allowed? Are they "out" now?

Is the real ultimate goal of social media to get to the broadcast position?
Using social media and getting to a broadcast position in various networks allows the user to manufacturer their own authority as opposed to having that authority created by a deeper endorsement of their work be it links, subscribers, or sharing of content. Achieving the broadcast position and authority is now an achievable goal through various channels.

Done, I don't know how someone could follow that many people. I know people that have that many followers.

What I gained from the article I linked to above was understanding. What's going on in all social networks these days is using numbers of followers or friends to create authority. Previously, "that authority created by a deeper endorsement of their work be it links, subscribers, or sharing of content."
