I'm new here. I'm new to blogging also. By visiting many directories and blogs I however realized that many persons were into blogging just for the purpose of making money. It's a kind of digital age lottery.

However the making-money part does not look obvious when you consider the main factor which is bringing quality traffic to your blog. This takes time and asks for credible, updated and creative content.

This brings a paradox. Only bloggers that focus on quality of content will ever have a chance to get some revenue back. Then you better not be looking JUST for money.

Not true: as for making money the most important thing is not quality of content, it is the value of your keyword niche.

Many people don't make any money from blogging so they pretend that they are not focusing on it whereas in truth it's because it's hard. So don't dream too much about the quality hype: it's a fairy tale. In truth many adsense professionals don't play with quality but with quantity and keywords.

If I get you right, for these Adsense professionals readers are irrelevant. They work only to trick the system.

Why do you always put your link at the end of your post then : this is irrelevant

Why is money so important to everyone? A form of dementia, I suppose.

Money is a tool to control people's minds. Actually, blogging too!

It isn't important to all bloggers.

I started blogging to make money but was seduced by writing and reading. It turned out I made under $5.00 with Adsense while others earn thousands. There must be a trick and the reason most bloggers want to make money is because we all need it to stay afloat.

I agree with what you have said in the OP. There are no shortcuts. Whether a blogger intends to have a monetized blog or not, those who intend to become successful bloggers must all go through the same steps.
There are 25 basic steps to take to increase traffic to your blog.

For the first 6 months your blog will be in the Google sandbox and what you do during that time frame is critical to succeeding as a blogger.

Thank you. It's a very popular post on my blog suitable to all bloggers whatever platform they choose to blog on. Those who have used the post and worked through all the steps, which are internally linked to how to tutorials have all told me their traffic has increased.

I whole heartedly agree. You will not get traffic going to your site if you have crappy content and a bunch of advertisements. Content is king. You can think about money after you have a good readership.

Content is King and marketing (promotion) is Queen. Provided a blogger is savvy to the use of basic SEO (keywords, appropriate anchor text, linking to authoritative sources, etc.), and actually promotes their posts effectively across social networks they will secure traffic. There are no shortcuts. It doesn't matter whether you blog for bucks or for validation alone the steps required to secure organic traffic are the same.
