So my friend an I come up with ideas for sites all the time. A few years ago we came up with an idea to do product reviews, with videos, and add a twist. While most review sites are very factual, opinionated based on personal research, and serious, we thought we'd make our reviews "silly".

We made a lot of videos, did a good bit of internet marketing over the years, but ultimately didn't gain the fan base we'd hoped for (especially after over 3 years) nor make the revenue from ads and affiliate links we anticipated.

We get comments here and there, most positive. We've had months of unique traffic in the thousands. what we haven't had is enough fan base or profit to motivate us to continue on making new video reviews and spending the time and effort it takes to get them on the site.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why the site hasn't worked out as well as we thought it would by now and maybe some advice from a visitors point of view or someone with experience in making popular, profitable sites/blogs.
