Did you notice how many blogs are about making money online and the content is always the same?

Is it really such a good business to write about making money online?

I agree the market is flooded.

BUT - I have always felt...if you want to make good money pick one of two topics:

    1) Teach people how to make money or
    2) Show people how to loose weight

I have a blog which teaches people how to make money and I am making money in the process. I cater to a niche market though and that is the secret.

Your are correct there are hundreds of thousands of blogs trying to teach people how to make money blogging. You must learn how to stand out in the crowd.

If the blog gets good SERP and traffic, then it will make pretty good ad income - relatively speaking.

It is the current "Get Rich Quick" scheme of the web. So far - though - the only "Get Rich Quick" scheme I've seen work, is getting people to pay you for a "Get Rich Quick" scheme

Sadly its one of the top searched niches on the major search engines so those of us who actually do make an income online would be crazy to ignore it. That said I actually don't have an MMO site, but I do write about SEO on occasion.

Well I have a much easier answer. Most posts, blogs and articles about making money online are devised to get clicks from those who are researching the topic.

The "I make $5,000 a month using Adsense" article will get clicks whether is true or not.

When a blogger uses Adbright, you can click into the Adbright advertisers menu and see what traffic they're getting. If the site is averaging 800 page loads per day, chances are they aren't drawing the $5,000 per month revenue they claim.

But hey. You're one of the lucky 800 who fell for it.

Just be careful. There's a lot of good information out there and there's a lot of BS out there as well.

You probably missed the date on this thread 6/08/08 It was resurrected by khassandra who is busily spamming old forum threads tonight by link dropping into them.

There are very few bloggers who can and do write unique original content and secure a high enough traffic flow to make a significant amount of income from advertising and affiliate schemes. The rest are all bullsh*tters chasing an imaginary pot of gold at the end of an imaginary rainbow. Currently, the blogsophere is full of no quality and low quality make money blogs that are full of stolen content, rehashed content, and/or plagiarized content courtesy of ebeggars.

fake it till you make it syndrome.

if I tell everyone I am making $47,000 a day, eventually I really will make $47,000 a day.

    I see.

Well I'm glad to see someone is shooting straight. I've seen some pretty outrageous claims tonight that I KNOW are BS from looking at the site's performance.

I don't mind if they fool themselves, but it irks me a little when the ploy is used simply to get someone to your blog.
