Have you ever stop by to smell a flower, to enjoy its beauty & delicateness, to enjoy the freshness of the wind sweeping your face, to close your eyes and listen to the birds singing around you, to look at a tree and admire natures craftsmanship, to realize how soothing its to rest under a tree on a sunny day, to gaze at the sky to see if birds were flying, to look at the sea and wonder how blue it is, to realize all of this is free for you to enjoy.

Yes I do stop to smell the flower.....then I paint it. I live with nature in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of PA so I am exposed daily to the wonders of nature. Today I saw not one Blue Jay but 20 at one time. Last week the family of six deer that we have fed all winter walked up to my window to say hello. yesterday our oh so cute gorund hogs came running down our drive. Tonight the sky is bright with stars and the breeze is cool. It ":is" all free. To answer your question: Why Should We Take Time to enjoy nature... to me they are all gods paintings. it's all inspiring. I will paint all he has to offer. Thanks for the beautiful words.

I'm lucky to have a small garden, so every morning before work I get to water my tomatoes, check the tadpoles, watch the ladybird larvae, and drink my tea. The other day I found a nest of baby spiders.
That's fine for me, a lot of people I bring to the garden don't appreciate the variety of animals I encourage to live with me.
In the centre where I work there is a blackbird. It sits on a metal chimney pot, which amplifies its song and serenades everyone with the sense to go out on the fire escape. On Sunday we had a summer storm, and the thunder provided a perfect dark bass line to the bird's soaring singing. -
too busy to admire nature. My day goes by with changing nappies, feeding my baby, changing nappies, cooking, changing nappies.... Did I say changing nappies ?
I do occasionally look out the window, but all the beauty i need is in front of me. I sure do love my baby son ! -
As KM and Janny 52 konw, We took our year out from the rat race to GO! Smell the flowers. It took us 2 months to get used to the peace n quiet and 10 months to get back to reality. You cant put a price on peace n nature and this is what our book is about, how we took the time out and how it changed our lives. Forever! now, we're back earning our crust but with different eyes. Happy flower smelling, wherever u are.

I spent all of yesterday out in the woods (ah... bliss :). Now, unfortunately, I have a bit of a sunburn and had to spend all day today inside coating myself with aloe gel. :-p Such is life--nature is not all landscaping and flowers--it's also sunburn, allergies, and occasionally things that will eat you. Still, it's worth it.

Nature nurtures the mind with it's silence, the heart with it's beauty, the body with relaxed calmness and the soul with it's pureness of spirit. I walk in the forest to relax, to renew and to be inspired. Nature can heal me of my worry and take away my hurry. When I walk amongst the trees I am in the true cathederal of the Divine.

Yea, sometimes it isn't that cool to stay up cramped in front of your monitor the whole day. Many people fail to see that everything outside has moved off without them while they stay affixed to their monitors. Get out for some fresh air!

I have a tiny little garden-- some people have a "Back 40"-- I have a "Back 4". :-) But each day (and particularly in spring) I love to just give it a little walk through and see what's different. Because SOMETHING is always different. A new bud, something that planted itself but turns out to be beautiful... you never know.
It's some of the most peaceful moments of my day. -
Every evening I go out onto the fire escape to smell the night flowering jasmine that lives there, look at the moon, and occasionally see a fox sneaking over the wall. If the weather is good I'll go into the garden barefoot; the cool grass is restful. Our garden is really tiny but in a city it means everything to have that space.

I was just thinking yesterday as I was feeding our animals (horse, sheep, chickens) that some folks call those "chores".
I call it a privilege to care for the animals. I get to pet them, listen to them, watch their antics...
At the same time, while holding the hose to fill a large watering tub, I get to admire our rugged landscape. We live in the middle of a high desert valley and can see for at least 20 miles each way... to the mountain ranges that surround us.
It's "monsoon" season for a week or two. Last evening I sat on our little patio enjoying a light rain, and watching the dozen or so hummingbirds as they fed, and defended their territories. Yes, the come within just a foot or so of me. -

Nothing cheers me up on a bad day more than a sunny walk outside my house. (the pic above is the view outside my front door) Nature is God. I also love a good t-storm and when it rains and thunders it is like god talking, saying "Hey". Love it all snow, rain, sun, wind, pretty flowers, a well landscaped yard, etc.
