why do some bloggers here say they have stopped by your blog, when you know they have not?
When the blogger visits a post it shows up in in the blogger box.
so why then say you have visited when in fact you have not?
Am I the only one this happens to?
Just curious

That's spammer technique #239 (tell people you visited their site and they should visit you back)

Although, proving it is not always foolproof without knowing IP address. For instance, if they are logged out of here and visit your site they won't appear in the blogger box. Also, the blogger box isn't always current or updated on a timely basis as the messages are, when you usually look.

And I always thought it is spamer technique #238. Whatever, its anoying and I dont visit somebodys blog just because Im told to do so.

some said they clicked on my ads and please go click on theirs. funny thing is i don't have any ads on my blog. does bc do anything about spamming?

If someone asks me to visit their blog I won't do it. You know when someone has really visited because they leave a relivant comment about one of your posts.

I've been getting another version of that message saying that they stopped by and clicked my ads, and asking me do the same for them. Frankly, I don't want anyone to just stop by my blog and click ads. I want you to stop by if you're interested in my topic and I only want you to click on resources that will help you. Just randomly clicking my ads does nothing for me.

I'm assuming the people that want ad clicks are using PPC ads or want to artificially inflate their paid advertising clicks. I consider those tactics deceitful and have absolutely no interest in participating. (And asking someone to click your PPC ads is most likely in violation of the terms of the ad network.)

So please, I welcome you to visit my blog to find help with your direct sales business. And I ask that you only click the additional resources that are of interest to you. Being an active and contributing blog catalog member and starting a conversation with me about a mutually interesting topic are sure ways to get me to befriend you and read your blog. Simply asking me to look at yours just because you looked at mine doesn't work for me.

Yeah I get that too. The "clicked on your ads" thing especially cracks me up since I dont have any.

I don't get it. I don't like the follow me I'll follow you that seems to be permeating through out. Don't get me wrong, I WANT people to follow me but only the ones who want to read what I have to write.

It is also against the rules to ask someone to click on your blog.

"why do some bloggers here say they have stopped by your blog, when you know they have not?"

They were dropped on their heads, repeatedly, as children.

I visited all your blogs and clicked all your ads!

That's just spam, but I would like to point out that it's entirely possible to visit someone's blog without showing up in the widget. For instance, I am logged in to BC in Internet Explorer right now, but I just opened a Firefox window and visited your blog and I didn't show up in your widget.

It is annoying. Or they say, "if you visit mine, I'll visit yours." Visit it if you want; but don't blackmail me into it! And the clicking on the ads thing cracks me up, because I have stats on my clicks, and I know they haven't!

yeah! Its like they wanted you to visit back...Just nonsense stuff...
