They're much better behaved than children raised by humans. They look so cute when they try to wag their tails when you offer them a treat. The biggest gripe is protecting the postman.

This story is heartbreaking. I read about it on AOL. It turns out that she was probably severely retarded (IQ about 50) and suffered from environmental autism due to the abuse and neglect. Her mother's IQ tested at about 79 which is borderline. I'm glad she found such caring and selfless people to adopt her.

I was abandoned as a baby in the local woods and subsequently raised by wood lice. It hasn't really changed me but if I am in a dark room and someone switches on a light I do have a tendency to scurry.

There were times when my mother asked, "Are you being raised by a pack of wolves?" Of course, I answered, "No". "Well, then", she said "stop licking your wounds."
I never understood what she meant. I wasn't licking anything. -
