Will the world come to an end in the year 2012

Does anybody here believe that the world is going to end December 21,2012?I was listening to a show on the radio and some guy says he believes that the world is going to come to an end in the year of 2012.The Ancient Sumerians believed that the world was coming to an end over 6000 years ago.Some of the early Christians belived that the world was coming to an end in the year 500 A.D.The only thing that happened around that time was the downfall of the Pagan Roman Empire in 476 A.D..Martin Luther believed that the world was coming to an end in his own time.Does anybody here remember 2YK when everybody was in a panic mode?The year 2000 came and went and nothing happened.I will see it when I belive it.

My question is: What will be the date of the next end-world prophecy?
The reason I ask is all previous fore-warnings have failed. (And there have been a few...remember?) The next one will have to be far enough away so as not to be confronted with reality, but close enough to hopefully keep us all on edge. Maybe 2020? Think that would work? I like the "twenty-twenty" take. Prophets should be able to decode that.-

These idiots in Hollywood are actually making a movie on the topic. The movie is set to release next year. They are trying make money from all this hype. -
What about the people serving over 800 years in prison? If the world ends, what will they do? Huh?!-
They get their sentence shortened for good behaviour.

Yes, and I did a very good arrangement with my bank. Because I find it hard to pay the mortgage, I promise them to pay the whole price of the loan at 2 nd of January2013. I had no problem to go at the 1st but the banks here dont work that day. -

The world actually ended on 23rd June 1979. Bit of a non-event though, didn't really make the headlines. -
I being a Christian,have problems stomaching all the stuff from the likes of:Hal Lindsay Jack Van Impe (who quotes stuff from unreliable sources),Harold Camping(who predicted that the world would come an end in 1994,the man would not let his wife get linoleom floors because he didn't believer that the world would be around much longer).I had to hear all that stuff in the year of 2000 by false preachers,(selling their books and tapes), in sheeps clothing.I have to deal with it from both sides of the isle.

I have come cross this 2012 thing recently as well. Sounds interesting but no one knows whats exactly happen on 2012 even though there are so many predictions from different civilisations. Why everyone predict this galactic line up in 2012?
Anyway if you look at the world, it is always been the most safest and most dangerous place for the humans. All the other animals can survive natural disasters better than humans as humans depends on machines to prove it.
Anyway if something is happening in 2012 most of us will witness it for sure. -

I am just amazed how much ignorant ideas that are spread about the 2012 nonsense. 99 % of these people do not know anything about the Maya calendar(s) and if they knew anything about it they would also know that some correlations suggest this date will occur on the 22nd or 23rd of December. Other researchers (I mean academically trained scholars, not pseudoscientists or New Age people) suggests that the correlation is off by more than two months. It is not a completely resolved issue.
Finally, there is nothing that suggests that the calendar ends at this time, there will only be an end of Baktun (Pik) 12 and beginning of Baktun (Pik) 13. Nothing more. No galactic alignment (apart from the one that has occured now for a decade). No planet Nibiru, no emergence of a higher consciousness (people believing this hoax seems to be heading towards the opposite). -
Well this is what I know. The world will end for us all on the day u die. I'm pretty sure someone will die on that day to.
