As for me, it depends if it is really good and proven, hey why not.

I do internet marketing for free, though a few people have been thrown my way who want to pay me to help them.

But why pay for anything when google is there and you can search for it yourself.

yeah that's true but sometimes, the process of searching and learning can take ages that's why i guess some prefer to just pay and remodel other people success.

As my Grandad said 'People are lazy' the best bit of advice I was ever given.

I wouldn't pay...a whole lot. The internet marketing business is like the gold rush. First you get the people that know how to get rich on their own, then they try to profit off those that want to strike it rich.

I'd only pay if I verify the 'guru' really knew what they were talking about. I personally make all my income online and most of the people who talk the talk only seem to make money because they talk about it, ie they are classic salespeople who get paid to talk about what other people have discovered. I seriously believe anyone who is any good at earning an income online is not going to be selling their secret. They might network with newbies now and again, but they sure as heck wouldn't bank on that for their income.

Really depends. If, for example, Darren Rowse gave a lecture on something, I might pay to go see it. I'm not going to believe just any yahoo that claims they know how to make money online.

As a self-employed small business person (blogging is a hobby for me) I accept the premise that one can spend a little money in order to make a lot more money. Therefore, if I had blogs that were focused on marketing products or services I would consider paying for professional assistance but, I would be very selective when it comes to hiring anyone for the reasons carlgalloway states.

I would not pay because i feel that it would seem like some sort of Pyramid scheme though thats just me..

Is this what you are referring to? www.gator-byte.com/2007/10/reverse-funnel-system-scam/

Only the truly gullible who lack the skills it takes to be in business believe a website that will funnel thousands and thousands of dollars into their bank account for absolutely no effort. What they need to know that there is no such thing as free money.

yeah that sort of thing people selling ebooks on how to make money and so on it makes me think that you sell the book and thats how you make the money why do you need the book to tell you to do that.

No thank you. And what worked for one of the experts cannot necessarily be duplicated. Do you think you could recreate Bill Gates' success, or even a small part of it, even if you repeated every step he took in his day? Best to just follow good principles, all freely available on the net, together with some really bad advice.
    1. zackharis
      i totally agree 110%...

the guru only make them into believing that when paid, they will be able to replicate their success and it happen that alot of people think so and that's why they pay..

      @markstoneman
      Good point!

yeah like most of you here, i will not pay to learn unless the guru is really proven to have made millions selling products and not his teaching course.

I guessed most of them make more money teaching people how to make money rather than selling their own maybe niche products.

    Just my thots.

"I guessed most of them make more money teaching people how to make money rather than selling their own maybe niche products."

Here's an English expression that's frequently used:
Those who can do and those who can't teach.

This is a really good question. The fact is in every economy the money has to come from somewhere. In the pro blogging world almost all of the information is freely available. Why would you pay? The only reason people want you to pay is to get your money so they can be probloggers. The whole thing is a circle and in the middle of the circle sits spammers, conmen and pornographers. In an economy in which information is free, just what is it that is being sold?
    1. zackharis
That is a good question mate - in an economy in which information is free, just what is being sold?

I won't pay to learn how to earn money on net.... Especially if it is offered by a website with sentences highlighted in yellow....

"Most valuable information is available free"

    1. You learned your mother tongue -free.

    2. Learned how to talk -free

    3. Learned how to walk -free.

If you will accept a tutorial on how to love, accept a tutorial on how to make money by paying money.
    1. zackharis
      I like that point mate..cool

Techmartini, I see you have google adsense on your tech blog. This seems like a legitimate way to monetise your blog if you genuinely endorse the products advertised but that would seem a little difficult? I have experimented with branding and selling merchandise. The one thing that might underpin a legitimate economy like this is creativity and originality, a fusion of art and advertising. Just a thought,
