But no one's talking about the Olympic games in China in August. I've written a post on this..

I don't mind even if you don't follow the link, but I really would like to know whether any of you folks are going to China for the Olympics.....

Not a chance and we should boycott Jackie Chan for his participation in the Olympics:

I'll be following the Beijing Olympics on television. I live in central North America, and would be doing well to travel outside Minnesota and North Dakota.
As for boycotts and the politics: I think the funniest thing about the preparations was China's assurances that their open-air events would be fine, despite the season. They're ordering the weather to be clear for the games.
The photo with a USA Today article ( www.usatoday.com/weather/research/2008-02-29-china-weather_N.htm ) Makes it look like they're going to shoot down rain clouds. Fact is, cloud seeding seems to be fairly routine there.
We'll see how successful they are. -

I consider the Olympics to be ...
If I could afford to go would I? No way.
Unfortunately my province is reving up for hosting one. That means all of us little people, who cannot even a afford a ticket to one event, will be financing the entertainment for all the rich beaches from all over the world, for a couple of generations or until we retire the debt. -
Here is a reporter guide for Beijing olympic issued by Human Rights watch
