But no one's talking about the Olympic games in China in August. I've written a post on this..
wats-ur-opinion.blogspot.com/2008/06/will-you-attend-2008-olympic-games-in.... (I'm shameless)

I don't mind even if you don't follow the link, but I really would like to know whether any of you folks are going to China for the Olympics.....

I am a big Shawn Johnson fan. She is amazing for 16. She will be on tonight here again for the gymnastics competition. I am not sure what they will be doing though tonight.

Not a chance and we should boycott Jackie Chan for his participation in the Olympics:

Who cares? It's a bunch of morons running around in circles against other morons from other countries. Yawn.

    I'm gonna go play Zelda.

I'll be following the Beijing Olympics on television. I live in central North America, and would be doing well to travel outside Minnesota and North Dakota.

As for boycotts and the politics: I think the funniest thing about the preparations was China's assurances that their open-air events would be fine, despite the season. They're ordering the weather to be clear for the games.

The photo with a USA Today article ( www.usatoday.com/weather/research/2008-02-29-china-weather_N.htm ) Makes it look like they're going to shoot down rain clouds. Fact is, cloud seeding seems to be fairly routine there.

We'll see how successful they are.

I am not sure if I dare to go to China..
    1. xtremer
and why wouldn't you 'dare' to go to China?

The impression I get is that security will be rather tight. As long as you're not a reporter, or start asking too many questions, or photographing the wrong things, you'd probably be safer at the Beijing Olympics, than in your home town.

Is China good for human inhabitant? I am confuse, I heard many story from my online Tibet fren.
  12. xtremer
of course, those 'stories' may be true, China does have a bad record in treating Tibetans......but tell me, every country, directly or indirectly is involved in some sort of monkey-business, so will you boycott that country?

By the way, which country are you from?
  13. Treasureblog
But its bad to defend it. And why are u defending it. Don't you care for human rights?

    Go to the Bejing olympics?

I'm still trying to get to Kung Fu Panda.

I'm not that much into sport that I'd go somewhere because of the Olympic games. I'd probably prefer to go to Beijing when things have quietened down again

I consider the Olympics to be ...
If I could afford to go would I? No way.
Unfortunately my province is reving up for hosting one. That means all of us little people, who cannot even a afford a ticket to one event, will be financing the entertainment for all the rich beaches from all over the world, for a couple of generations or until we retire the debt.
  17. xtremer
At one point of time, even I considered the Olympics to be boring, but later, I've found many interesting games, like, trampoline stunts, gymnastics and athletics....
