Back in 2002, Jet Blue airlines donated a flight for me so I could hike across America beginning up in Bangor, Maine. The connecting flight was at JFK Airport. Needless to say, I not only missed my connection but was bumped back to the last flight going out eight hours later! What did I do?

I pulled open my backpack - set up my tent and sleeping bag in the concourse and then, slept like a baby for seven hours! The funny thing was all the comments from all the people who kept asking each other if "a storm was coming" or "was there a terrorist attack?"

    It was memorable!

Oh, you had a poor experience!
But you were good in handling this situation

I hope all the airlines can provide 'good' services as they promised!

    Anyway, nice to meet you!

So far I haven't missed a flight, but I was afraid last year that my flight to T'aipei would miss its passengers. We were late boarding, but I still made it to T'aipei in time to catch my connecting flight to Bangkok. If that didn't happen, I might have missed a surgery for which I had planned for months. That might have caused me to go insane, and in a foreign country, that's serious! I suppose I can't fault that poor lady for becoming an international spectacle.

i always have terrible luck with flights. mine are delayed, cancelled, everything and anything. i usually get really mad, but i've never absolutely freaked out... minus one episode when my flight was cancelled four times in three days and i had to pay for a hotel for two nights. then i was pissed.

I can't imagine getting that worked up over anything.

No I wouldn't - but then again - I'd never be late for something like this, save it is out of my hands totally (meaning cancellations or multiple hour delays)

I book all my transport in a manner that I am all but sure I'll make it no matter what, even if it means a several of hours or more of buffer-time.

I've missed my flights a couple of times b4 (morning flights is NOT a good idea for those who can't get up early).

I was frustrated with myself at 1st but I never flipped out or blew my top off. No point of getting all worked up. So I simply dealt with the situation by booking another flight. Of course, the next few days I became the butt of everybody's joke, having to miss my flight & all. hehehe...
