What brand of wines do you like?
Ever been to a wine tasting?
Ever been to a wine villa?
Where was it...California, France, Spain?
Ever stomped on grapes?

I like Malbec wines from Argentina. Also shiraz wines.
    1. Jeunelle
marktmarket.....Yes I love these too, nice choices.
    2. Stillthinking
I love Malbecs. I also love Meritage, but I do not discriminate against whites. A nice sancerre is amazing!
  2. aningeniousname
I like any red wine really especially claret, I know nothing about it though.
This is the story of my first ever wine tasting.

I harvested grapes when I was 17 - pooped me out

My taste buds have fond memories of Saint Emilion and Saint Julien wines.
    1. Jeunelle
harveyavatar...yeah that grape picking may look like fun in the beginning but after a while
you get pretty tired of it. I haven't tried Saint Emilion and Saint Julien wines as yet
but I'll look for it. Thanks for dropping them.
  4. csiunatc

Rioja's, I love Douro too. Red is my colour. Have never been to a vineyard but would love to.
    1. Jeunelle
      myriadlife...Rioja's is the bomb.
I can't have too much though. Red wine for some reason puts me to sleep.

  8. harveyavatar
    @Jeunelle,
Saint Emilion and Saint Julien are Bordeaux wines.
    1. Jeunelle
I know but I never tried those brands or types.
I usually go for French wines to and I'm surprise I missed these
    2. Jeunelle
Hold up I think I have tried them at least once but never remembered to buy them again.
hmmm maybe they weren't that memorable I don't know, I prefer white wines to red and I still don't know why other than the fact that red puts me fast asleep.
  9. MadMadMargo
    Oooooooooooh, I love Sangria wine.

My favourite wines are South African made. Some cultivars I love include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. I enjoy the blends too.

I only stomp on sour grapes.
    1. Jeunelle
flamingpoodle....Excellent choices...all of which I happen to like too.
    2. flamingpoodle

Living in France as I do I've had lovely wine...red, white, rosé! Difficult to choose. I like Bordeaux and Beaujolais but lots of others. But i don't spend my time swigging, have very limited quantities. It depends on the time of day or night, the event, the food, the company.
    1. Jeunelle
rainst22...You are living the dream in France.
I prefer French white wines over the French bordeaux as the red tends to put me fast asleep,
so I'm afraid I have to be careful not to indulge in Red wine too often but yes great wines comes out of France for sure.
  14. roguedeals

I used to live in the Chateauneuf du Pape region in France. I'll never forget the Chateau Margaux I was served once at Christmas!
    1. Jeunelle
      geekchick....oh boy oh boy.
  17. Anok
I have been to wine tastings. I have found that I really like a nice Pinotage from Africa. I've tried a few different brands, and I like all of them

It's a strong, heavy flavor with a peppery finish.
    1. Jeunelle
@Anok...Yes I love pinotage and shiraz oh boy oh boy
    2. Anok
I do like shiraz, but not American Shiraz. It has a funny aftertaste for some reason. (I think it's the barrels they use).
    3. Jeunelle
Yeah you know I don't think I've ever bought an american shiraz, usually they come in from Israel
  18. cranelegs
i fancy those purple wines spelled in italian.
    1. Jeunelle
cranelegs...Oh my God..you are too fancy for us.
  19. ophase
Is it true that France never exports first quality wines produced in France ?? Somewhere i read Frenchs mostly produce for collection?
    1. Jeunelle
ophase....that may be true but I don't know for sure.
    2. geekchick
The best wines are bought out by locals or other savvy people. It's what they don't sell there they are able to export. You have to remember that the French drink a LOT of wine (1 bottle per person per day is an average amount). Plus they don't buy it in bottles there, you take an empty two-liter cola bottle and they fill it up from the vats, and then you pour it in a decanter when serving it to your guests.
  20. LynneaUrania
    California unfermented.
    1. Jeunelle
LynneaUrania...YES got to watch out for that fermented stuff.
    2. LynneaUrania
I'm not kidding. Even a sip of Manichewitz is enough to make me quite ill.
    3. Jeunelle
Manichewitz is what my Grandma drinks.
      It taste like ripple.

That's what all the temples I know use too. At least some let me use perfumed water instead.

I was just blogging today about my totally illogical method of choosing wine-- by the fun packaging. It's wrong....It's only about 75% effective...

And frankly, I should be embarrassed.
    1. marktmarket
How's that method go? (e.g. color of labels, cork shape, etc.)?
    2. Jeunelle
personally I don't see the point of a 6 pack of wine.
The money they must of spent to package them into that paper packaging must of cost more than what they are charging for it. Just one of those is only 1 glass or wine and I don't think too many people buy them anyways.
    3. ThriftShopRomantic
Marktmarket- I wish I had a solid method to explain-- but it's something like using The Force.
    4. Jeunelle
These 6 packs comes in recycled colored paper. I wonder if you guys have seen them.
I tried to get a photo of them online but no luck.
    5. ThriftShopRomantic
Not yet, but I'll look out the next time I'm in the store.

Mizdemeanor....Sounds wonderful...wish I was there with you so you can offer me a glass.
    2. geekchick
I have a '67 Lafitte Rothschild that I'm saving for a special occasion. At this rate, in order to be special enough, I'll have to marry a wine taster!

I exclusively drink Cabernet Sauvignon for its anti-oxidant content.
    1. Jeunelle
YES red wine is high in anti-oxidants and healthy for you within moderation of course.
  32. JaydenVasara
    i love Rieslings....sweet and crisp!
  33. wineflair
The Sangiovese from Cosentino Winery in Napa. One of the most scrumptious versions this side of Italy! I think the 05 was great but it's probably all but gone.
  34. joeshico
Have always loved the European Reds. I am especially fond of the Tuscan wines and Spanish Rioja's. In past few years I have also began to appreciate the 'dry' Rieslings' from the Fingerlakes Region of New York and from Washington State.
  35. catsroar
I like Muskat, coz I go for the sweeter variety.
