damnit, I thought this thread was going to be assigning us roles...cause I wants to be a Sorceress married to Merlin before he got all old.

um...nevermind, I'll just become a lesbian and marry a witch
not everyday that I switch over to the other side due to the ugliness of a man
    3. BennyGreenberg
I have been a lesbian for a long time - Try it you'll like it
    4. Jeunelle
The truth comes out about Benny.
Why did he save it till now to tell us? I don't know.
  2. Anok
I am a practicing witch. There are no good/bad witches as we are all dual in nature, and choose what we will do, and our intentions (good or bad) will have little effect on the larger reaching consequences of our actions. Karma, being consequential and all that.

I practice witchcraft, some Wicca, much Paganism of random origin, some Heathenism, and I have performed a pact with my Gods, in a private ceremony.
    1. Jeunelle
      Anok...Excellent.
So I see you can control both forces and that is a big plus.
    2. Anok
Well, control is a bit more than I can do at the moment.

      I'm working on it, though
  3. acousticguitarist
This is really only the dark side of the Self.

Tweedledee and Tweedledum agreed to have a fight.

And as Lord Krishna said to the eldest of Pandavas and Kauravas, "although I Love you both, I must always support the Dharma"

I am a White Magician :-) The Master Panda
  4. aningeniousname
Crowley was more interested in who he could entice into his bed than his pentagram I think.
    1. acousticguitarist
      I think he was insane
    2. Jeunelle
Right on he was very interesting but a Satanist.
There was a huge split between him and the OTO
The OTO did not believe in the Holy Guardian Angel as the persons actual GOD
but instead they employed a GOTOS or a egregore. A group spirit or spiritual energies.
    3. aningeniousname
I think he was a very interesting upper class lunatic, and as such an interesting window into the upper reaches of society, the kind we aren't usually afforded unless it is from centuries past.
    4. Jeunelle
He was studied but not special.
Anyone if really interested could have and can reached his level.
    5. aningeniousname
He was connected to the upper levels of society though and that is the really interesting thing about him not his "philosophy"
    6. Jeunelle
Yes he was connected because the powers that controlled him or the powers he worshipped control this earthly plane.
    7. Anok
      Crowley was overrated.

      But generally useful, too.
    8. aningeniousname
I see him as a very well read charlatan, an educated con man making his living from plastic versions of the "old" religious ceremonies.
To me he was dishing out a fraudulent version of the Eluysian mysteries using drugs and sex instead of real insight.
    9. Jeunelle
Excellent Anok and Angenious and Crowley if he stayed away from the drugs
and sex could of been a real treasure. He failed.
However he is still used as a stepping stone to some truths.
One can learn quiet a lot from watching the darker side of human nature
and then applying the useful portion to the lighter side of human nature.
I also find it very useful to learn all about the darker side 1st so that we can fully understand
      our lighter side.

ALSO after Crowleys death, the OTO really seems very boring and stagnant. They still have worshippers but it just isn't the same romantic period as when Crowley was around to stick his thumb in a few things.
    10. aningeniousname
Have you heard this conspiracy theory, it's a beauty!

I must say if you shaved her head she would look like his twin.
    11. Jeunelle
"To me he was dishing out a fraudulent version of the Eluysian mysteries using drugs
and sex instead of real insight". True what you say here anigeniousname

Not only that but he dished out some messed up versions of the stele of revealing
and the barbarous names he reworded the entire thing to suit his own needs and desecrated the original text and making it blasphemous.
    12. LynneaUrania
He also royally messed up the GD.
    13. aningeniousname
Lynea was you still performing his rites in OTO?
    14. LynneaUrania
The OTO today is principally Crowley. I'm not that fond of him, especially as a human being. But he was an effective Magus. I didn't take a Minerval in the OTO. But I have been a participant in the Gnostic Mass thereof.

All I know is there is this place that as teens we used to go to all the time because his place was so different. It would almost take a blog post to describe it. It was built in the shape of a dome and the yard was filled with sculptures. We visited it often out of curiosity. On one visit he invited us in. The inside was as bizarre as the outside, but full of magnificent sculptures and paintings. He called himself the "Prince of Maji". He invited us to a Halloween Party, which we attended. I have never in my life seen such magnificent costumes in my life, and some of the things that happened there.

    Well...

Jeunelle, you know I would love to share what I know about this topic, but to be honest I don't much.

I did have a friend who was into Wicca she always tried to get me to chant with her.

This was the only one that kinda stuck with me.
    The earth is our mother
We must take care of her

  9. LynneaUrania
My training was in what is now called, the "Esoteric Golden Dawn," and served in one of its temples for years. But I also had association with a camp of the "Ordo Templi Orientis."

I never actually named my group until recently when I found a lot more posted by this group today than I had ever allowed to myself.

The GD has been the greatest influence on me in the post-church era.

Also to include astral schools I was intitated in the School of the Dreamspeakers.
    1. Jeunelle
Excellent you should tell us some more about these schools.
I am aware of the Ordo Templi and their Sex Magic and the Esoteric Golden Dawn
a little but would love to learn some more.
    2. Anok
The only thing I have been successful with from the GD was the Lesser banishing Ritual.

It certainly does wonders for me, but I have yet to be able to master more.

      it's tough being solitary.
    3. aningeniousname
      What's this lesser banishing ritual?
    4. LynneaUrania
The GD does not include the Crowley version of Sex Magick in its curriculum but is more interested in Lightwork per se. To some, that IS sex magick. There were in fact individuals who did do Western Sex Magick in its full tradition on their own. It also isn't unusual for one in the GD to be in one or more other schools.

The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram isn't just a GD teaching but has versions in many other institutions. I've even heard of Freemasons using it. The LBRP is a banishing designed for centering the self. There are others also.
    5. aningeniousname
So this lesser banishing ritual is some form of centering meditation?
    6. Anok
No, the Masons don't use it.

However, I think it would be beneficial if they did
    7. LynneaUrania
Anok, I have read some posts by Freemasons who do use a version of it. I still get e-mails from these types.
    8. Anok
I'd take it with a grain of salt.
  10. LynneaUrania
I will not describe a specific ritual here. But there are publications out there that do have it.
    1. Jeunelle
Yup just do a Google search guys
    2. Anok
Hell, some sites have step-by-step instructions
    3. LynneaUrania
If you get The Golden Dawn by Israel Regardie, don't try the initiations without training. There are some pretty scary blinds that you might not recognize.

The OTO's Gnostic Mass has its own entrancing beauty, if one wishes to honor Nuit through the Beast and the Whore.
    4. Anok
I had the benefit of a mentor for the LBRP. But I do see what you mean.
    5. LynneaUrania
I tell you, Anok, if you went on immediately to an SIRP, you could really find yourself over your head. One woman did this and all kinds of out-of-control stuff were unleashed. You don't want that.
    6. Anok
Because I practice a slightly different school, I have had my experiences with...erm...how shall I say this - greater demons? I am still unfamilar with GD teachings, though because I don't regularly study it. I would ask for a mentor before embarking on any of the rituals from a school of tat nature, though.

So long as whatever I do allows me to rely on my strengths, I will be fine.
    7. LynneaUrania
There are various types of daemons, many of which are not evil. One should look at how writers in the past have described them, from a Greek text that described them as dark astral objects like large flies to others who speak of them as Devi or as Divine beings. They run the gamut.
    8. Anok
I didn't necessarily mean to imply evil daemons, although I've had my run in with some nasty buggers.

I was more referring to...deeper levels of consciousness and/or what people call heightened spiritism, as well as a variety of rituals dealing with all of the above.

In my line I am particularly susceptible to that which is rarely felt by others which could be harmful, or helpful. So I have worked hard in the area of psychological and spiritual defenses.

And I'll leave it at that
  11. LynneaUrania
Certain rituals are used regularly, morning and evening, as well as before and after a working. One must use them diligently over time, cultivating them as a matter of habit.
    1. aningeniousname
Are these workings an act of "solidifying" a future course or am I missing something?
    2. LynneaUrania
They do that and more. Consider this. If you are going to come face to face with entities from beyond as would be the case in evocation, then you need to be fortified within yourself. Otherwise you would c*** out and do some real damage. This takes real practice. And you face your own demons in the meantime in a work of refinement.

Fortunately, my experience in the GD has been mostly a warm and stabilizing one.
    3. aningeniousname
I know exactly what you mean because I have been to that place and met those entities, I'm still trying to work it all out.
    4. LynneaUrania
There's nothing like a good diligent systematic approach. The GD is very good at that.
    5. aningeniousname
Would you know what I meant if I said praying mantis?
    6. LynneaUrania
Why would I want to, donkey, dear?
    7. aningeniousname
There isn't anything like that you have come across in your studies?
    8. LynneaUrania
Not me. Others may have. I have encountered many beings.
  12. Jeunelle
I had the pleasure of employing the 8 and 9th book of Moses and ended up in heaven somewhere
and saw some shit I should never of seen.
I don't even want to talk about it, neither have I mentioned it once to a living soul.
    1. LynneaUrania
I wouldn't get into it now, either. I think we even talked too much about your HGA in open discussion. It's always a ticklish thing concerning how much you can mention when you have taken an oath of any kind. Yet, as my proctor said, "We are no longer a secret order, just an order with secrets." And if silence meant not speaking anything even to those who need it, there would be no order today. There's a lot to that Lakota teaching that "Silence is the mother of truth."
    2. Jeunelle
True but I didn't take any oaths and was never sworn to any secrecy,
also I would like to add that I am not a practioner but I do have many ancient text that I do enjoy reading.
  13. LynneaUrania
Whether you took an oath or not, it makes sense to keep an ethic of silence. That is embodied in Harparcrat, pictured in the arms of Isis, often with a gesture of silencing. Why? Because these address things deep within the heart and soul that are far too easily abused.
    1. Jeunelle
I only read the text I do not practice it, well at least not yet.
However there was a time when, nah I better not mention that one either.
    2. LynneaUrania
Don't even start till you have developed the habits necessary. Make your circle impregnable.
    3. Jeunelle
heheheehe I have to say that I fully agree, if you do not, you can always expect something to get through.

Anyone who practices or conjors evil spirits should also beware when toying with these spirits. You call them and you do not fortify your circle and they slip through, it's pretty much all over for you.

They can turn your insides in and rip out your stomach walls literally.
They can also stop blood from flowing in your veins or arteries, yes they do have this power
and you would be wise not to test them. You better not mess with them.

Jeunelle owns an extensive collection of ancient and now extremely rare books.
    4. LynneaUrania
The best and most essential thing in all of this is the cultivation of a good heart. That was recognized back to the Kabbalist School of Yavneh.
    5. Jeunelle
I am mostly into the Kabbalah and the tree, I really have no real interest in going down darker roads. I think they make an interesting read but that is as far as I want to go.
    6. Jeunelle
Speaking of evil spirits do you know that Crowley conjured up a few major demons
and one almost strangled him to death in the desert where they called the demon
and he could hardly fight it off not to mention his partner who also failed to get the demon
off him. The demon was so strong that it literally threw them both out of the circle.
It took great effort to control this thing and they were literally soaking in sweat and shaking in their boots before they were able to control it.

Crowley was almost a household name many times before his time was up.
Don't mess with stuff you don't understand. I also felt him to be very sloppy
and full of error for a Magus.
    7. LynneaUrania
Probably when he was in Egypt working on those Enochian Keys. One guy I knew was heavily into Enochian. I thought he was a bit creepy.
    8. Jeunelle
I read about the Ecochian Keys and have many books on the subject
but ain't stupid enough to go toy with them.
  14. marktmarket
Do you know "Initiation Into Hermetics" by Franz Bardon?

Although the high level exercises are interesting, I've only been able to do the basic mental, physical and spiritual exercises--and these have been very therapeutic.
    1. Jeunelle
Yes thank you I have all his books...good stuff
  15. Jeunelle
Presently I am reading a book called "the Red Goddess" by Peter Gray
it generally discusses Babylon and the Book of Revelations also about the Red Dragon and Babylon,
the similarities of the Devil, the Old Serpent, Lord Marduk and Ishtar (the love goddess)who takes different forms of the same Goddess throughout history. This book also discusses Lilith and her role. Also why our age now is considered the age of the Goddess Babylon.
A very interesting read if you ever happen to come across the book.

Interesting enough this book also discusses the relationship between John Dee and Edward Kelley and how they conjured the Daugther of Fortitude (babylon) and weren't even really aware of what they did.
    1. LynneaUrania
That sounds like a good read. And this is an area of Enochian magick that doesn't get talked about much.
    2. Jeunelle
This one is one of the best so far as it discussing where Crowley went wrong and also Jack Parsons author or "Sex and Rockets" and "Freedom is a two edge sword", who Crowley was going to make his protege.

Jack Parsons died on June 17, 1952 in an explosion when he dropped a vile of Fulminate
of Mercury at his home laboratory which is generally regarded as accidental--he stored many volatile chemicals and compounds in the lab.

Though gravely injured, he survived the explosion, only to die of his wounds.
Unsubstantiated rumors have suggested that Parsons' death might not have been accidental.
Tragic and some would even say he saw his "Red Goddess" alright.
    3. LynneaUrania
I never was able to make much sense of outer alchemy. One of my proctors was an alchemist who said one day, "I made this tincture of copper and took 5 times more than I was supposed to...and I've been seeing vivid auras for days now. I got to find out why!"

I thought, "O my God, he poisoned himself."

So many fruity alchemists running around. I'd just as soon stick to inner alchemy. I can handle that.
    4. Jeunelle
      ROFLMAO
Yup I bet there are quiet a few fruitcakes out there who believe they are alchemist.
    1. flamingpoodle
A witch doctor is called Sangoma here. We used to watch that series as kids.
  16. phantomelen
This is an interesting discussion. I have often wondered about the existence of other worldly powers and such, but never had the time to pursue. In the last few days since joining this community, I have had the chance to read some of the witchcraft blogs here, and my eyes are being opened to some interesting and sometimes scary prospects. I truly believe that this stuff should not be taken too lightly, just in case there is a grain of truth.
    1. LynneaUrania
One would be better to pursue this subject with the desire for truth. That as well as innocence, love, wisdom. And above all a desire to reach for the Highest.
    2. Jeunelle
Indeed anything less and you are fooling yourself.
I prefer to ask to know & understand him so that I may love him with my whole heart
and he seems to be listening.
  17. Jeunelle
I sometimes wonder as any parent may secretly love one of their children a little more than the other. Of course they will never say that they do but I really wonder sometimes.

God created both good & bad and it says that the bad or the "shadow of God" gets thrown into the pit and during the time spent in that burning pit, I would hope that there is some progress so to speak that the "shadow of God" would become refine and make a transition into something of more worth
    as nothing is ultimately destroyed.

So I would sometimes like to believe that he loves the "shadow side" or "bad seed" just a little more
but who knows that for sure and who really knows what's in the heart of a God.
    1. ArsenicCookies
So Off topic BUT hubby and I actually just had a fight over favortism last time he was here, he thinks I favor the youngest and I think he favors the oldest. I love them both the same but I coddle the youngest because he was a sickly baby with a heart condition. Now ... now he is quite possibly the anti-christ

Do you believe in the all powerful OZ? Blah

Are you a wiccan practitioner? my mommy was a witch and my daddy was a catholic, so .... lol... this is what you get. Not a witch, but a major effing bitch

Are you a warlock, witch, sorcerer, sorceress, Witch Doctor, Priest or Priestess? Nope

Do you believe in witches, warlocks, sorcerers, sorceresses, witch doctors, etc? Yep

  19. LGramlich
I followed a neo-Druidic path for a while, but soon realized it was just another superstition that didn't really work for me. I'm still pagan-friendly, I just can't buy into much of it, myself.
    1. Jeunelle
LGramlich.....Yeah I understand just what you mean.
  20. Arnous81
Ofcourse I believe in sorcery and witches.I believe in extra dimensional beings and I believe that humans use them to reach a specific goal.

However I chose not to follow this path. It's too messy and risky.I'd rather follow the path of the mystics who connect directly with the Creator of those extradimensional beings.Let those other beings have fun in their dimensions. They were placed in their own world for a reason.
    1. Jeunelle
Excellent and a very wise decision.
  21. flamingpoodle
Do you believe in the all powerful OZ?
Not after we beat them at cricket. Muwahahaha!

    Are you a wiccan practitioner?
No. Wicca is a support club for fat chicks.

Are you a warlock, witch, sorcerer, sorceress, Witch Doctor, Priest or Priestess?
    None of the above.

Do you believe in witches, warlocks, sorcerers, sorceresses, witch doctors, etc?
No. Those who do tend to slaughter harmless old ladies for putting the mojo on them. We have a curious custom here called necklacing. When someone dies from lightning or such, there is usually a witch hunt. The alleged witch is then dragged out into the street. A tyre filled with petrol is then put on her neck and lit.

It's usually a woman, but it could be a man too, although this is rare. Superstition is bad for you.

Have you ever taken an Oath or a Pact?
I take an oath after every rough weekend. 'Aw man, I swear I'm going to stop drinking!'.
  22. harveyavatar

    2. harveyavatar
      Lynnea,
Wasn't resin around at the time? It comes from trees... Some people also use sugar, but I think it must be in a jar then... Orgonite is only around for a few decades though...
  23. Anok
    I can't believe I missed this:

Do you believe in the all powerful OZ?

As in charlatan men hiding behind facades as to ascertain and maintain power and wealth? Well.....yeah
    1. Noarch
      wasn't OZ a real magician?
    2. Anok
No! He was a fake, a balloonist that got blown off course, remember?
    3. LynneaUrania
At least I can believe in the all-powerful "awes."

Where else can you find Diana Ross, Lena Horne, Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor
and more all under one roof?

Those motorcycle monkeys were pretty scary and the subway scenes were pretty scary too.

Yeah, I believe in witches and sorcery too. Many powerful witches inside the secret society they call "illuminati"
    1. LynneaUrania
I've met some Illuminati. People who are middle managers and guys in orange jumpsuits for public works. The things I see about Illuminati are often pretty off the wall.
    2. Jeunelle
Ain't President Bush one of them?

    3. LynneaUrania
He was Skull and Bones. I don't think he was an Illuminatus. He wouldn't have had the intelligence to get that far.
    4. Jeunelle
Well we know who put them into power don't we?
    5. LynneaUrania
It seems to me that it was less an issue of Skull and Bones than an issue of Yale people supporting Yale people.
    6. Jeunelle
It seems to me whoever he is worshiping helped put him into power.

Invisible negative energy also employs a spirit being and if that spirit being is wicked,
      I keep an eye open.

Also they have many private ceremonies that were video tapped secretly from those who weren't suppose to be there and what went on at those ceremonies will raise a few eyebrows.
    7. LynneaUrania
Yup. Mr. Bush ran with a Christian Evangelical platform and claimed the whole Christian party line. There is a difference between what is said publicly and what is done privately. We really don't know what goes on behind those beady eyes.
    8. Jeunelle
I'm searching for a link to it now on Google but do you remember Condoleezza Rice and Bush at the United Nations Summit and in the background on the wall right behind them were the letters 666?

Aaahhh here it is for all to see
You know this shit is right in our face plain as day and either people don't want to see it
or they just don't want to believe it.

    @Jeunelle,
You may be referring to the Alex Jones Bohemian Grove video. This may be part of the "The Externalization of the Hierarchy" (Alice Bailey - Lucis Trust). This cartoon definitively seems to be so : www.outlawjournalism.com/news/?p=6278

You can learn quite a bit listening to Jones, but he has a fearmongering element to him, so for not too long...

I really think a lot of this sort of stuff can create a serious unbalance in SOME people and can lead to some rather crazy mental disorders

get away goblins , stop biting my ankles... oh cleopatra where have you been

I don't know how many psychics reckon they were Joan of Arc

I am very interested in the Metaphysical and ExtraNatural
    1. Jeunelle
Yes I fully agree, it can always take a wrong turn somewhere alright
    2. LynneaUrania
Yes indeed. It might even make you think you turned into a panda.
