Turns out, women have heart attacks more often than men, on average.
And, medical experts have discovered that women are not small men!
I did a micro-review on two articles about heart attacks and women ( apatheticlemming.blogspot.com/2009/02/heart-attacks-women-and-astounding.ht... ) - turns out, my wife knew about this already. No surprise there. The family calls her "Doctor Mom," and one of her sisters is a radiologist. Interest in the healing arts sort of runs in the family.
I learned about symptoms for women having heart attacks last night.
Is this news to you?
If not, how long have you known that women aren't small men?

I've known that last detail for many, many years, thank you.
But it is important that people understand how women experience heart attack symptoms differently. Great topic! -
What?! We're not small men? Holy crap!
Heh.
Yes, heart disease and heart attacks for women are different from men's, and heart disease is now one of the top causes of death for women.
Our symptoms are far more subtle - so pay attention ladies. -
No I didn't know there were differences in symptoms. Thanks so much for sharing this.
I hope all the women here read your post. -
[women are not small men!]
Well, duh. There's that whole chromosome being different thing, and the lack of dangly parts.

On a related note, my mom needs to quit smoking. Like, right now.
