    World peace is not only possible, it's essential. The old conflict mode, eye for an eye (leaving the whole world blind) sort of thing is not sustainable. The world had a number of events in 2008 that woke people up to that fact, and I d believe a massive shift in consciousness has come. It just takes time to manifest, and in the meantime those devoted to the old ways tighten their grip...
    
    It's just another way of saying, two steps forward one step back...

       I believe so too. The shift of consciousness might take some time to manifest, but it will definitely come.

    Theoritically it is possible.However practically, it is either impossible at least very tough in the next 100 years.
    
    Why do wars happen anyway? One reason: Powerful Egos.In every human being, there is a side that lusts for power.Most spiritual traditions will tell is followers to keep that side of them under control.When people's appetite for power gets out of control, it will take over their thinking and weaken their sense of humanity and compassion.If the person with uncontrolled lust for power happens to be born and raised in a situaion where he can influence the world on a large scale, he would do anything to expand his power.Even wars.
    
    That means that the only way to stop wars to make everyone aware of their own lust for power and keep it under control.This is why religions and spiritual teachings teach us to "Give" more than to "Take".But is this possiple to do with every human being? Can you "force" people to control their own egos? Of course you can't.You can only show them the way. Some will follow and some won't. And some of these that don't will eventually start wars.

       100 years... 100 000 years...
       
       Humans have existed on earth a long time. Humans are just infants compared to how old earth is. Learning takes time. When we grow up we will become wiser and see that world peace is the way to go.
