What was the worst date you ever had?

I had this guy come and pick me up to take me out to dinner. He didn't open the door. He took me to Pizza Hut...Yes, our first date was Pizza Hut. When the bill came, he said he left his wallet!

Worst date? Every single one I've ever been on.

-the worst one involved someone who had no table manners whatsoever. i was mortified.

-this isn't my story, but a high school friend of mine once went out with a guy who took her to a movie. afterward, they went to grab a bite to eat. where? mcdonald's. he pulled his car up to the drive thru, looked her, and told her that she could only order from the $1 menu. hahahaha. awful.
    1. Epicharis
haha! because otherwise she'd order the lobster burger...
    2. choochoo
Just a side note -in New Brunswick, Canada, they actually do have a McLobster Burger!
    3. Epicharis
wow...McDonalds is diversifying...I wonder how much like lobster it tastes...

Mine wasn't a date. It was supposed to be a business lunch.

And suddenly, she looked and me and said, "enough business, I want to talk about your eeeeeyyeeees."

I am still haunted by it.
    1. Epicharis
      oh god! That's horrible!
    2. crpitt
That is why he wears sunglasses at all time, because his eyes are soooooo pretty.....
    3. aningeniousname
Wish I had business lunches like that mine always ask where the money is I owe them.
    4. Rich
@crpitt Yes, I have to hide my eyes. They are too powerful.

@aningeniousname You might not wish, if you met this stalker. She'd eat you.

I've had some funny dates that in the telling might appear bad. For example, the guy who medicated himself because he was nervous and then saw double at the movie theatre (and actually complained to the manager when it was his drug use that caused the issue), or the guy that showed up for a date in a full suit, while I was wearing a pair of jeans. But really I just look back at those kinds of dates as funny. The REAL worst dates are the ones where emotions run deep and people start to get on your nerves!
    1. othellobloke
Ya shouldn't think bad of a man who wants to appear his best on a date.

I'd say a suit on a date is a lot more classy than showing up in grotty jeans and tshirt - at least it shows he cared enough to put some effort and time into his appearance for you
    2. Epicharis
ooh... It would have been worse if he'd shown up in jeans and a t-shirt and you'd been in a really nice cocktail dress! At least he could pretend he'd come from the office or something!

Whats wrong with Pizza Hut ? In some countries it is trendy.

I had asked a young lady out, with whom I got along well; she even laughed at my jokes.

We had a nice evening, went to see a film, had a coffee, laughed and talked.

I thought about kissing her good night, and stepped closer.

She said, "I have a confession to make...I really enjoy your company, but I'm a lesbian. I wish you were a woman."

She and I are still friends, but it would have been nice to know from the start.
    1. aningeniousname
Ah the old "I'm a lesbian" ploy, know it well.
    2. greencurmudgeon
      @aardvark

I thought much the same...until she later became engaged to another woman.

My date with her wasn't *that* bad either.
    3. aningeniousname
I would have trapped her by saying "That's ok I'm a lesbian too, I have all the videos come back to mine and we can watch them in our pants!"
    4. greencurmudgeon
      @aardvark

Regrettably, I'm not blessed with your unique ingenuity or audacity.
    5. crpitt
Hmm you two could do a fine Brit and Yank show

"When we are born we cry that we have come to this great stage of fools." I guess that's the worst date I ever had. My date with destiny.

I've never actually been on a date...stop feeling sorry for me...boarding schools and universities arn't really places where you go on dates. But I once had someone ask me out (as in, to be his girlfriend) when he was really badly concussed from a rugby injury...apparently he'd fancied me for ages and in his hazy state decided it was time to introduce himself to me, tell me he'd seen me staring at him all the time, and that we should be together because we were obviously right for each other! I'd never spoken to him before and certainly had never been staring at him...it was so awkward!
    1. aningeniousname
      And..........
    2. Epicharis
...and I had to tell him that I really didn't fancy him, hadn't been staring at him and would not go out with him while he towered over me in a neck brace...then when his friends told him what he'd done the next day he started doing everything short of hiding behind trees to avoid me.
    3. Stillthinking
Wait, universities aren't places for dating?

*Recalls hazy blur of bad dates, group dates, random hook ups of university days.*

England and America can't be all that different. In the US, sex and dating is practically a major in itself. And how on earth did you end up with mono if you aren't kissing strange men...or women.
    4. Epicharis
I didn't say there wasn't kissing of strange men and women...we just don't really do 'dates'...
    5. Stillthinking
Ahh, you skip straight to the hook-up.

      *looks disapproving*
    6. aningeniousname
To be fair though Sil is always too studying too hard to go out on dates.
    7. Epicharis
This is the difference between Brits and Americans in terms of dating:

      Awesome. LOL!
    9. crpitt
That clip is bloody spot on
    10. timethief
That video was a scream! lmao

If I were 60 years younger, I'd date you any day. You're so funny and intelligent. Unfortunately, they won't let me go anywhere these days without my IV.
  12. farangrakthai
I have only good memories of all my dates. Maybe I'm getting old and remembering only the good dates. But, anyway, why should I remember a bad one?
  13. sexnfries
During dinner all he talked about was his mother's suicide.
  14. sjtavo
Mike - Migraine boy. So named because he gave me a migraine, he was so freaking annoying.
  15. thecantankerouscan
Guy took me to a strip club and got a lap dance right in front of me. I walked out.
  16. bringbackpluto
All my dates were interesting even if they were terrible. I'd say the worst dates were the ones I didn't even get to go on.

I'm glad I don't have to do it anymore. (Knock on wood!)
