Titanic, awful script and some of the worst acting ever seen. I actually cheered when I saw the iceberg coming.

    5. Mewie
I loved Howard the Duck when I was a child... I just saw it again last week and got so frustrated b/c I realize it's such a bad movie.

There are just some things you should never see again and just remember it as "good."
    6. MadameX
      Um.

What exactly were you EXPECTING when you went to a movie called "Switchblade Sisters"?

      Hahahahaha!!!

I agree with all of these and please add all the Star Wars movies to this list.
    3. Madcrow
Brokeback Mountain? Really? I have to say that it was Heath Ledgers best work, that is until The Dark Knight comes out.. His role is a masterpiece..

Plan 9 from Outer Space, a 1958 Ed Wood epic.
    1. kdawg68
classic - I thought of mentioning that as well. I actually like that one for it's badness.
    2. aningeniousname
Plan 9 is one of my favourite films ever. I think space vampires are a real menace to the world.
Why no one doing anything about it!

Napoleon Dynamite. First movie I ever saw that made me want to kill myself just so I didn't have to see another second of it.
    1. crkian
I just couldnt see anything funny in that movie
    2. kdawg68
I actually enjoyed that movie, but it's not for everyone. PLus, if all you heard was the hype about it then it wouldn't live up to expectations. Having caught it when it was relatively unknown, I found it hilarious.

Kip Dynamite the cage fighter? Priceless. And yes, he loves technology.

and dodge ball and bumd and bumder
  12. kdawg68
There's a bad monster movie called "The X From Outer Space" in which they kill the monster with what looks like shaving cream.

There's also that classic baddy who's name escapes me that features dogs called "shrews" or something, attacking a cabin. You'd recognize it if you saw it.

    Leonard Part VI

    or was it Part VII?

Did you know that movie is so bad that Bill Cosby bought all the rights to it to prevent it from being shown on tv? He was so embarrassed by it's awfulness. Thank god for youtube.

    The Terror of Tiny Town.

    An all-midget western from 1938.
    1. Norski
      That was my entry.

The first, and (as far as I know) last all-midget (as the narrator announced) western. That's not what makes it awful. The movie was cited in the seventies as having the worst (or among the worst) continuity of any motion picture made to date. Of course, there's been about three decades' worth of devolution since then.

      Samples, from imdb ( www.imdb.com/title/tt0030845/ ):
      # Continuity: Arriving at Preston's ranch, Haines ties his horse securely to the hitching rail. Leaving, a minute later, he mounts the now un-secured, untied horse.
      # Audio/visual unsynchronized: When the dwarves are playing their musical instruments, the guy playing the cello gets his bow stuck in the strings and has to fight like mad to get it out. But the music continues.

Not mentioned in imdb, but a detail I remember from a description (I've never seen this thing): a character gallops out with one color hat (or horse?), inexplicably shows up in next with one of different color.

      Wow.

Any movie buffs out there, to fill in details about this dramatic debacle?

The Three Amigos. I was in such disbelief during that movie that I actually went home and told people that they had to go see it, even though it was the dumbest movie I'd ever seen, just because it defied description unless you'd experienced it firsthand. There were about three VERY funny scenes in it, but they were all in the previews.

My husband would say High Fidelity. He so hated that movie that he would never again watch EITHER a movie that my sister recommended or one with John Cusack in it...and he maintains to this day that it was 6 or 8 hours long.
    1. Norski
Is that the 1986, Chevy Chase / Steve Martin live action movie? I think I see your point.

Sorry - I got slightly crossed wires in my memory, and merged the Disney Saludos Amigos and Three Caballeros films.
    2. MadameX
I think that's exactly the kind of mishap that occurred during scripting.
  22. EcoInsomniac
Ultraviolet was the worst movie ever!

I usually avoid the awful movies, but my wife took me once to "Body Guard" with Whitney Houston. I was bored out of my skull. Since then I check reviews I trust first.

    Just finished it...Southland Tales.

All star cast that must've owed the director in some form. Stinker.
  26. kdawg68
Wait....there's one called something like psycho beach party with a chick named chicklett

Anyway, polkadots make her go schizo and she becomes a ghetto woman. She also has a dominatrix personality. It's so painful to watch.

It has all the classic signs of a bad movie:

    -cheesy acting
    -bad script
    -white people dancing

Possibly the worst in my personal experience was one whose title is (mercifully) a suppressed memory. My wife says it may the The Substitute.

My wife and I had high hopes for what promised to be a sort of updated American version of To Sir, With Love. We rented a video, and after about three minutes thought it couldn't possibly get any worse.

    We were wrong.

We saw it through to the end, thinking that somewhere in the morass of moribund plot, foul language, and characters who elicited a faint preference that they might all drown together, there might be some nugget of good drama. There wasn't.

Never saw the whole movie.... It was that bad! But I read in a book that "I Spit on Your Grave" is one of the worst movies ever made.
