exchanging cell phone numbers with anyone here on BC to be able to text them?
don't ask me why this jumped into my head, but I know there are a few people on here I think it'd be fun to be able to chat with "offsite" and texting is a great unobtrusive way to do so...

Yea....I have lots of bc friends offline. I put my # up once tho and admin took it down... I don't know why tho,bc I have this phone just for computer people...nobody knows my real #,this phone is even linked to my po box, but for some reason I don't think they want us swapping #'s for sum reason -
couldn't you leave in shoutbox tho? i wouldn't post it for the general public but there are some people i wouldn't feel uncomfortable sharing it with...(like you =) )lol

why not just use the shoutbox instead of potential texting, with the privacy feature on.
Or email, even more unobtrusive.

What about IM?? I don't have an unlimited text plan...I keep my texts for messaging my bank account in a panic while I pray I have enough for my grocies...while I'm in the check out line.

The second we all exchange our IM ID's the discussion boards become dead immediately and all that's left is spammers and newbies. -

@ NP - that's sacriligious. hell, even my 68 year old Mama has an iPhone and texts me! LOL
@ lotusb - i'm on blackberry - we could pin each other or exchange our email addy's and we should be able to add each other (plus it's free!) texting and bberry IM are my best friends
@ miss suzie - feel free to drop your number in my shoutbox - i promise not to stalk as i am too busy being a slut and working to stalk anyone LMOA
@ lotusb - from what i've heard, BC gods may shut down something that will lead to less discussion here so i may just resurrect this thread once in a while to see if there's future interest - i think using shoutbox's to exchange info is fine... -

I already pay close to $100 for my cell phone plan, and I really don't need texts since my bb has yahoo mess, aim, g-chat, bb mess etc... And to upgrade to unlimited would actually be an additional $12 a month... cell phones are like herion can't live with, can't live without...

yea so i'm predicting that i'm not gonna get much work done..... i love texting/IMg, I miss working on my blog (damn 15 hour a day job of being an accountant)...... ahhhhhhh all i need is a glass of captain and coke (hee hee) and i'm gonna have a good night of it - i'm blowing this place in a little over an hour so i can continue to be unproductive, but with alcohol in hand!

I think it would be fun to collect some numbers and I appreciate Holly's and Lotus's and I do believe I have another in my shoutbox =) not that I need to be on the phone all day chatting (since I'm already online all day trying to work and chat at the same time) but to hit y'all up for random convo's throughout the weekend or evening when I just can't stand to sit in front of a computer is gonna be awesome =)

ah, well since I am the IT manager at work and I am "suppose" to set a good example, I am not on BC nearly as much as I would like.

yea i don't know how i haven't gotten busted yet, i guess because i'm one of 18,000 worldwide and maybe the techie's are just letting me slip through the cracks. some days i'm nonexistent, others i'm like the plague LOL but that's why i'm trolling for phone numbers - at night, i really don't feel like booting up a laptop, or i'm out and about and just not online, but would live to be able to chat with some of the folks here via text or blackberry messenger...

Same for me, I have 2 pc's going in my office and of course maintaining the server and network so when I get home, I have little interest in booting up the laptop. My blog is written during the day between multi-tasking. It is not by any means a great literary masterpice so it doesnt particulary suffer. I may not be your first choice of texting buddies. I seem to lack the sharp wit of some of your guys.

I'm right along with you - i might be able to write for my blog late at night before I crash, but posting to it is done at work as i multi-task, eat lunch, whatever. I just can't go home and open a laptop and sit there staring at a screen for five or six more hours - so i'd rather stare at the small screen of my bberry and chat LMAO i'm such an oxymoron -
