Yuck. You'd have to show me the kinds of cancers and prove I am at risk for them before I'd drink that nasty, bitter brew. Ew!

Yes if that is for healthy. But in other study that coffee is not to good for your healthy too if you drink to much. A lot of caffeine.

Well then I guess I'm cancer proof..
And no, I don't think increasing the dose would do anything. I'm pretty much marinated in coffee as it is. -
Actually studies have shown that drinking green tea reduces cancer.
Studies done on people living in China determined that green tea reduces the chances of cancer.
So I prefer Green tea anyway than coffee (that dirt water), plus green tea has shown to burn 900-1000 sugar calories a day helping to reduce weight gain.
Coffee has a slimy oil and that can't possibly be good for the lining of your stomach walls.
Coffee also raises your blood sugar levels causing you to want to eat more and more.
It effects your hunger and since your blood sugar raises so do your chances of getting diabetes. -
Is that why I eat so much? I drink a lot of coffee and have to eat like every two or three hours. And, yet, I couldn't gain a pound if I had to.

There are always pro's and cons to doing almost anything (or in this case, eating or drinking almost anything). It all boils down too.... Everything in moderation. Although I agree with Jeunelle's point about green tea, that is fact, and spreads to almost any aspect of cancer rather than just a few "certian" types :P!

I am so sick of these types of PR releases, I bet if you look into it one of the major Coffee companies was the main sponsor of the research.
One week it's you need to drink more milk the next week, milk is bad you have to eat figs, I wish they would all fig off. -

I Apologise for yesterday's blank post everyone.
Here are some figures about the amount of coffee used in the study.
If I hear of any more studies on coffee I will be the first to blog about them.

That hot cup of coffee may do more than just provide a tasty energy boost. It also may help prevent the most common type of liver cancer.
A study of more than 90,000 Japanese found that people who drank coffee daily or nearly every day had half the liver cancer risk of those who never drank coffee.
The American Cancer Society estimates that 18,920 new cases of liver cancer were diagnosed in the United States last year and some 14,270 people died of the illness. Causes include hepatitis, cirrhosis, excess alcohol consumption and diseases causing chronic inflammation of the liver. source: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6975257/

Who really needs another excuse to drink more coffee.
If you read the studies carefully what most of the pro coffee studies find is it is black coffee that provides the benefits, not the way most people worldwide drink it. As for Jeunelle asserion that most people have some sort of diabetes, I would like to see the studies that show it is from the coffee and not the 1/4 cup each of milk and sugar most people dump into it, or worse yet all the non fat non dairy high carbohydrate creamer they dump into. There are as many studies that show coffee and caffeine help regulate blood sugars as there are that say it raises it, and probably a hundred times as many that show it does both but aren't published because it doesn't benefit the study groups preconceived notions. As someone who can sit down with with a glucometer and a database, something I did for 3 months to show my doctor, I can unquestionably prove that black coffee had with meals and through out a the day lowers my blood sugar and keeps it lower. (For the record I have had a mild form of diabetes all my life so coffee drinking has nothing to do with it and probably helped control it most of my teen years)
Like all stimulants caffeine is an appetite suppressant which isn't always a bad thing either. it is the perfect cure for people who need to eat small meals but are always hungry. It also provides a measurable metabolic jolt meaning you burn calories more efficiently. -
I love coffee and have been worried about several friends and family members with cancers lately. I'm glad to hear my coffee habit is actually helpful. I drink really strong, rich coffee from konaluna.com because I find Hawaiian coffee the most delicious and satisfying.

I drink about 6-10 cups of coffee a day, but I do it because I enjoy it, not because of the host of health benefits it has. It has its ups and downs. I have to make sure I get enough calcium, and sometimes I have heartburn because of the acidity, but I've never had any trouble sleeping because of my coffee habits.
