I had seen this on Oprah yesterday that a woman had brain surgery to loose weight.
It is supposed to curb your appetitive and make you want to eat healthy foods.
So I ask
1. Would you do it?
2. Do you think they are going to far?

I've heard of taking certain zinc supplements to stimulate the appetite center of the brain but this is for too-skinny people.
I would not get the surgery b/c I do not eat b/c I am hungry. I eat for emotional and social reasons. Nothing to do with how my brain works. -
Hell no! I say get on your bike and RIDE and eat a little less.
No one thinks of using will power and discipline anymore! -
This seems way too extreme. I think gastric bypass is too extreme. I would have hypnosis though. I think the power of the mind of emotional eating can be influenced in a positive way through hypnotherapy.

I am all for body augmentation. We are entering an age where people can finally look the way they want. It has been my experience that if people had a choice, most of them would change something about their appearance. We see examples of this in tattoos, piercings, and implants. However, brain surgery to lose weight sounds a little stupid though, considering there are much less risky, and healthier alternatives. But if that's a risk and an expense people want to take then who am I to say it's wrong.
