I have noticed a split view on this subject! Some believe blog promotion should come with hard work while others think paying a few dollars is worth it!
What do you think?

    I wouldn't pay for blog promotion.

    I want traffic to my blog and comments and hardly get any, but I wouldn't pay for it.

    I just wish people who genuinely like my poems would visit and comment.

    I suppose other wise it depends on what your blog goals are and how desperately you want to promote.

    Specifically, do you mean am I willing to pay for sponsoring a category at BC? If so, my answer is "no". Neither of my blogs registered here are monetized. I am seeking only organic traffic.

    Organic Traffic: Organic traffic is any traffic that comes to your site without being paid for. This includes people who visit via links in forums and blogs, traffic from search engines, traffic from word of mouth, or traffic from bookmarks. Organic traffic generally comes to a site naturally and is not driven by marketing campaigns.

    Inorganic Traffic: Inorganic traffic is traffic that is pushed via marketing campaigns. Banner ads, search engine ads, etc generate inorganic traffic. Generally speaking this form of traffic is semi-immediate depending on how much you blanket the web with your advertising and slowly dies out over time unless more money is spent to build a new marketing campaign.

    Organic traffic builders checklist:
    * submitting your blog to directories and search engines
    * commenting on other blogs
    * social bookmarking services, social networks, social media
    * joining groups related to your niche or topic
    * commenting and/or answering questions on forums
    * newsletters
    * press releases
    * podcasts
    * Squidoo
    * guest blogging
    * article writing
    * blog carnivals
    * twitter

    Being as I'm not making money with my blog, I sure as hell wouldn't pay to promote it.

    It depends on how this promotion is run. If just deliverying high traffic with high bounce rate, no thanks

    first off are you blogging to make money or just to share, if your looking to make a biz out of blogging why wouldnt you consider all options? It's funny how people keep putting down others who blog for money, most bloogers that make money consider there sites websites not daily journals, there is nothing wrong with monetizing your time and hard work, and millions of people spend money for traffic hoping to get paid, the bottom line is what do your readers see when you get them to your site, will it convert? If your site wonr convert then dont bother paying, If you have a great product or service that just needs to be seen before others will agree then yes pay and start making money.But make sure your site is ready for trafic before you pay for it, or your just wasting your money.

    Nope
    I think every dumbo can boost traffic by paying for it. Clever guys may get the same results without spending a penny.

    It's not a question about organic/inorganic traffic but just why should I pay for things I can do myself? It's not hard to me to submit my site to certain directories or exchange some links with other cool people and may be find some good stuff to read. True my blogs aren't super popular but it's fun to me to write and discuss things. Besides ads are not my main source and I use money I get from blogs to pay for hosting for my other sites.

    Besides sometimes you can't be sure of the services you pay for. Call me paranoid but making someone submit my blog to 1000 directories may mean ban from search engines for spam or smth like that.

    No. I like everything to happen by chance. If somebody stumbles across my writing and likes it, that's the best scenario for me.
