I must admit I have never had to do this, although I've helped people in dangerous situations but none that I would consider life-threatening.

Would you risk your life?

I'd like to think I would ... be brave enough if the situation arises. I fully believe I have that in me.

Hell, I'm in the military, so there is a bit of that already ... even though I wouldn't be in the frontline.

It would depend on the person and the circumstances for me. I did jump in front of a moving car once to get my younger brother... and I'd step in front of a bullet for any of my siblings. But say the bank robbery goes down when I am in line next to Ann Coulter? hmmm, sorry, but I think I'd use her as a shield

Wrong place - sorry see below.

    3. dbowles1017

    5. rainforestrobin
Yes, what is your future profession? Fireman, police, EMT, soldier, other?? Do tell.:)
    6. dbowles1017
I won't save you CA. I'll let you cook yourself

"Cooking for assholes presents, cooked cookingasshole"

I thought about joining the police, but the pay sucks.

Aahhh I see you answered it and I was right my fist guess. Well, I wish you well, a safe and long career.

police can always take bribes... and you get all the free donuts you can eat. (I may need to cancel my subscription to Stereotype Digest)
    9. dbowles1017
True... Maybe I'll work part time as a cop, seeing as how I'll be work 24 hours on, 48 off
    10. Agit8r
that could never interfere with your judgement such that you might be prone to TASE people to death... nah
    11. dbowles1017
      "Don't tase me bro!"

      I would tase everyone. Seriously.

      Very cool dbowles1017.

I fought forest fires for two summers.
      Very intense, a tad freaky.
    13. crpitt
Now I feel bad for being flippant, well a bit.

Just FYI - most police stations and fire stations/rescue places hold hostility for each other.

They seem to get in the way of each other.

Just so you are aware of it - it is VERY rare to see a firefighter cop.

I've seen 3 in my entire profession...

Not normal - a lot of it has to do with politics and funding. But some of it comes from the firefighters need to rescue and a cop's need to arrest, protect the scene of a crime and preserve evidence... They don't always mix.
    15. wagerwitch
      And don't... don't... don't... become a cop.

      Seriously.

I've seen good people turn sour and into EVIL people because of all the bureaucracy and BS. I've seen some EVIL cops - that were once really nice guys. I've seen planted evidence where everyone looked the other way.

Don't become a cop. You'll NEVER be able to have a family... cause a Cop Marries his/her job. It NEVER ends.

I bet it is. I plan to be a firefighter in the mountains. Wager I was joking about the fire/cop thing. And Im already evil... I wouldnt cop in a big city and Id go for detective ASAP. Also im using my phone which is why there is a lack of spacing.
    17. dbowles1017
crpitt its cool. And yes I did have to look up flippant.

That's my answer too. Although if related to family, then I know I would.
  5. celticmusicfan
Wow did I hear firefighters? Cool. Anyway i think if it's a family member then there is nothing in the world that you won't do.
  6. hatingtherain

      But I'll add my wife
    2. LolitaV
well I can't save a 210 pounds male with my 135 so I'm hoping he'll save himself (and the kids while I run and hide)
  10. wagerwitch
    I have and would again.

(not to copy any one else in this - just that I have been in positions where I have risked my life to save others - and would do it again in a heartbeat. THAT IS WHAT HUMANITY IS ALL ABOUT...)
  11. nothingprofound
I hope so. I have in the past. I assume I would again.
  12. Rory
I wouldn't for Michael Jack .... oh, wait, never mind.
