   LOL - the page rank bar on a Google Tool Bar for your browser. It's green if your site has any page rank at all, white if it's indexed but waiting, and gray I believe if it's not indexed... is this right guys??

    What took it so long for them to crawl it? Here is a tip for all new bloggers if you use wordpress get the google sitemap xml plugin. It should be the first thing you install after your spam protection and and immediately tell it to create the sitemap and notify google. I have had a blog online for 3 days now and it has been crawled with every post.
    
    As far getting page rank, they update every quarter and you can fluctuate wildly if your blog is less than a year old or has less than 500 posts. I have had blogs in my network get PR that were only a few days old when the rankings were updated and blogs that had been up a for six to eight weeks that got nothing, so I can't really speak as to the method behind the madness there.
    
    What I can tell you about this update by looking at my primary 12 blogs is blogs that got a lot of search traffic over a wide variety of terms all jumped several points while blogs that got little search traffic in comparison to the amount of content fell. This hasn't been a big factor before, but I expect I will find similar results when I look at my total network of 60 blogs over the next few days.
    
    Congrats on getting rank, but like I always tell people don't get cocky or too attached to your current page rank it will likely change in 3 months, and not always for the better. I have seen far too many cocky PR 5 and PR 6 owners go WTF when they suddenly find themselves with PR 1 and 2 or worse back to 0.

       I use the feedjit. Recently, i did a trackback on a page on MSN and found myself on page1.
       
       It is nice to see where the readers come from. I credit Weblogian for highlighting this on this one.
       
       @brad -- thanks to the WTF input from PR5 -6 down to 0. It happens I was told.
       
       As far as my family is concern, I am still no. 1 mum. so that matters most.

    Wait..isn't page rank just a number of how close to the top you are when your search terms are googled? On that link, it ranks you out of 10...what kind of a stat is that, 4/10..does that mean 4th displayed or is 10/10 better....

       One of these guys who do SEO will likely chime in and explain this... but I believe that rank is somewhat of an indication of how "important" your site is. For example - Google is 10/10, and I'm 1/10... so I'm not very important at all. LOL

    Yeah, I agree with Darkblaze, page rank can't really matter if your title is unique (for instance, mine is Black Russian Comics), google that and it's obviously the first hit you get.
    
    On the page rank site, I rank 4/10, my "blog" is almost 30 days old now, I don't think that's relevant.

    I don't trust the whole PR thing and here is why: My old blog domain which was used for approx. 3 weeks (then I got mad that it was indexed because I messed up the robot code and moved it) is completely blank absolutely empty and has a PR 2. How is that even possible? Last week it was 0, and I checked it only because it showed up at #1 under my name and I was like "huh" but now, even though empty its 2.

    Well, I'm not sure what I did right... and I'm not sure what I did wrong. I had no PR until recently and then suddenly it was at a 5... hmmmm! Then last couple of days I noticed it dropped to a 4... OK! But, that doesn't make sense because I'm getting more traffic now than I was before. (Over 830 hits yesterday alone)
    
    Since I have two blogs, I'm referring to outsidemybrain.wordpress.com
    
    I have no clue how the algorythm works for PR... but, of course, that's a big secret because they don't want people trying to manipulate the system!
    
    SO... I'll just remain happy with my PR 4... It seems it's a big deal!
    
    Congrats on getting yours ranked so quickly - that's awesome! And, congratulations to everyone else here for getting a PR rank... and if you don't have one yet! HANG IN THERE - "If you build it... they will come."

    I'm so happy this time Google didn't "spank" us instead of "rank" us... it wasn't that long ago that everyone was saying their ranks had really dropped. So this was a GREAT sweep, and congrats to everyone who saw an increase! I was so excited - I did a small shout out to the BC and some truly awesome people here...
