Looking for some ideas. I'm writing a guide on how to make the most of BlogCatalog.
What should I put in it?

Really? Hehe. I'd love to see them. I'm gonna try to make it sort of an official guide and give it to the BlogCatalog team so they can beef up the current Help page and support material here on the site.
So much is always being added here at BlogCatalog that I thought it would be great if we could all put our heads together and come up with some simple tips on how to get more out of this great community and website.
For example, just adding a bit to the discussion area each week helps a lot in terms of making friends and strengthening the community. The more you get involved, the more traffic and attention you tend to get to your own blog(s).
Any and all ideas welcome.-
It's been done ... lol

Could I ask if anyone has any useful resources that they put links to them in this group?

There is a section for resources and it would be really helpful
In fact if anyone can spare just a little bit of time to go and welcome a newcomer now and then, that would be great too. -
I've been reading timethief's blog posts on how to make the most of networks specifically BC and these have been very helpful. It's probably the reason I'm getting traffic (low number though) after only a few days of hanging out here.
I've noticed noticed though that it's been difficult to find groups that are active and whose objectives jibe with mine. So each time I'm here I simply check the General Discussion board and hop from profile to profile to see who else I can befriend.-

I am re-writing the posts I had in the BC newcomer's group. When they are all done they will comprise a guide. These are done but I still have several others to finish.

Also note that the official BC blog has some helpful posts in it for newcomets as well. Here's the link www.blogcatalog.com/blog/the-blogcatalog-blog
